Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I only caught the last 10 minutes or so... They did a skit about a blind black guy who grew up in the south, but since he was blind he didn't know what he was, so when he was a kid in the blind school they told him he was white...and he's a racist. So there's Dave Chappelle playing a old blind black guy going around shouting "white power," and he dropping repeated "n bombs" in a racist manner...I about pissed myself durring this.
Zetterberg is God Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I caught him on Conan last night and the show sounds good. Hopefully Comedy Network (in Canada) picks it up.
Guest Flyboy Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Dave Chappelle owns all. I have to catch this show. When does it come on (I know it's on CC).

Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I'm watching the repeat now. The white supremacist skit is brilliant. I didn't really dig the coffee skit, just seemed like lame bitching to me.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I saw it. Didn't laugh all that much, but I hope it goes well for Dave because I do think he is funny...
Guest Crucifixio Jones Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I think it's funny that Youth N Asia, who is always "I hate Martin Lawrence cuz he hates white people" (which I've never heard Lawrence say, btw) about pissed himself during Chappelle's black white supremicist skit. Admittedly it was genius, but don't think that Dave is too keen on "whitey" either. If you've ever seen Chappelle do stand-up, his material about white people isn't any different from Martin Lawrence's or ANY black comedian for that matter. It was cool to see Michael Rappaport in that training video for the photocopy place. That skit r0xx0r'd.
Guest notJames Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Feh. It's just In Living Colour with more profanity leeway. I give the show five weeks. Six tops. I'm a little more interested to see how Jimmy Kimmel's everyman talk show will turn out. Will he be a Conan or a Chevy?

Maybe it's just cause I've heard it coming from Martain for years now, Have you seen the previews for his new movie? That's about all they show, I just think it's time to give it a rest already...also helps that I think Dave is actually funny. My deal with Martain is that I've just never foudn him funny.
Guest hardyz1 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Dave Chappelle = funny Martin Lawrence = not I only caught the first segment and I thought it was pretty damn good. Especially Michael Rappaport.
Guest What? Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I loved that show... The white supremisist skit was incredibly hilarious... What was the coffee skit? Do you mean the "COPY" skit, Deacon?
Guest Crucifixio Jones Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Yeah, I've seen the previews for Martin's new movie, but obviously we've seen different ones cuz I've missed all the "white hate" propaganda he's supposedly spouting. Perhaps you can enlighten me.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I must be, shows you how much I was paying attention to the first half of the show. Usually I do stuff on my computer and watch t.v. from the reflection in my window. I could have sworn they said coffee and it seemed like a rip on Starbucks to me. Eh, watching t.v. in a window can sometimes make you miss small things like that.
Guest starvenger Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I'm a little more interested to see how Jimmy Kimmel's everyman talk show will turn out. Will he be a Conan or a Chevy? I think it'll do well. You've got Kimmel, Adam Corolla, some former Letterman writers and the Sports Guy writing for him, so that's not bad to start. The big question here is whether ABC will give him time to get comfortable in this role.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 "Yeah, I've seen the previews for Martin's new movie, but obviously we've seen different ones cuz I've missed all the "white hate" propaganda he's supposedly spouting. Perhaps you can enlighten me." I wouldn't call it "white hate", but it's the usual double-standard white-stereotypeish material minority comedians get away with. The kind of stuff that if a white comic would do, Jesse Jackson and company would protest and shake down the movie studio's parent corporation for money in order to provide kickbacks to his pals and bastard children. Not saying there's anything wrong with making fun of the almighty Whitey...
Guest Zero_Cool Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 ...speaking of The Sports Guy..does anyone think we'll see a Corey Haim and Corey Feldman skit?
