Edge, A-Train in the doghouse

Recommended Posts

If this is true, it's horrible, Edge is finally to get over as a legit main event, and hasn't had a chance to be destroyed yet...

Edge should be pushed again. But either as a heel or with a manager. Because he MUST NOT be allowed to use the mic in any oral form. I consider him to be one of the worst mic workers in the company, worse than someone who just can't talk (Benoit, RVD) Because Edge's promos only hurt everyone and help no one.

But he shouldn't be blamed for this. If he dogged it in the Albert feud, so fucking what? Why should Edge carry the match 80-20? He just went 50-50 and let Albert do his fair share.

Bob, I'm begining to think you follow my replies around, just waiting to get into a discussion with me for some reason...

A future star is being punished for not being able to get a waste of sperm like A-Train to a good match and that's cause for celebrate.

Edge is the one who sucked in the feud? Edge the one who tried his damndest to get a good match out of the useless slug. Edge tried his hardest to get the crowd into it and the match to get going but A-Train us such dead weight.

It was QUITE obvious that Edge didn't "try his damndest" in those matches. It almost seemed like he WANTED it to suck. He wouldn't work with anything Albert was trying, he was seemingly being hard to work with, and more. I'm not laying all of the blame on Edge, far from it, but he was very much a vital part of the reason the matches sucked. When Albert would try to insert psychology and the such into the matches, Edge simply ignored it, and did his own thing. I wouldn't care WHO it was, Edge or not, but that is not acceptable. Besides, if Edge is the superstar of the future like many say, shouldn't he have been able to make those matches a bit better? I'm sure there are more than a few people in WWE who could, because even though you don't believe it, Albert does indeed have the basic skills which would allow for someone to carry him.

That's funny coming from a Hulk Hogan fan.

I love Hogan simply out of nostalgia, so sue me. Besides, this thread isn't about him now is it?

I hope Vince gets his head out of his ass and starts pushing Edge again. The guy is way over with the crowd and usually puts on good-great matches that entertain the people. Edge deserves everything he's recieved so far and it's a shame his push is starting to wane.

Just because you are over with the crowd, doesn't mean you should be pushed to the top of the card. I could begin listing people right now off the top of my head who were insanely over, but never deserved to be at the top.

He just needs to stop feuding with useless slugs and he'll be fine.

Perhaps had he actually worked with Albert in those matches, he wouldn't be where he is now. Perhaps THIS is why they put him in there with Albert, to see how he'd work with a bigger guy, because we all know that in the main events, you MUST be able to do so. Eh, guess it isn't working out to much for him.

He just let Albert do his fair share instead of doing all the work for him.

All I remember about Armageddon is Albert doing rest hold after rest hold and Edge trying to get the crowd into it.

I think they should let Edge main event a PPV just to see what they got and how much more they need to push him

Well, if it doesn't go well, nix the push or turn him. Don't just continue pushing until they accept him.

Edge shouldn't be a face in the first place. All his good promos have been as a heel. As a face he's just a watered down unfunny version of his old E & C persona, but gosh, he's PRETTY! *Groan* He's over as a face but it's not like he really tried that much to make A-Train look good, no matter how mediocre Albert is.

Mattitude is having the last laugh. He gets to make Shannon Moore over, and he is enjoying it much more.

The bottom line is that Edge sucks. It does not take much to have kickass matches with Eddie, Angle and Benoit.

The worst part of it all was that Edge actually got a majority of the victories in his matches with the 3 I just mentioned. They tried to trick us into thinking that he has "it", but he's just an overglorified mid-carder that they tried to groom for HHH to beat down.

Hmm--odd than two Edgehaters like me and bps are defending Edge...

Well, of course, I'm a bigger hoss-hater than Edge hater...but Vince depushing some one for having sub-par matches?! That seems unheard of.

Newsflash: It takes two people to have a good match. Eddie/Benoit/Angle would have to wrestle *good* wrestlers to have a good match, end of story.

How are they grooming Edge for HHH to beat him when they're on two different rosters.

Edge also did great work with Edge and Christian when he wasn't fighting the three you mentioned.

CC is right- it takes TWO people to have a great match and that's what Edge was a part of

Whoa whoa whoa--Edge may not be fit to lace those guys' boots, but he doesn't suck. However, I find it hard to get excited about his matches, I hate his mic skills, and he's pretty stale in my opinion. However, he's better than a lot of people give him credit for...it's his shitty selling/psychology that hurts opinions of him mainly.

Edge getting in the doghouse is bullshit. Vince is kind of expecting too much from the guy...I mean, he goes from wrestling months of ****+ matches with Angle, and the rest of the Smackdown 6....then they just expect him to totally change his ringstyle and wrestle fucking ALBERT to a **** match? Wow...fuck that.

And Angleplex is right....you don't hear anything about HHH being in the doghouse cause he couldn't carry Steiner to above a negative star match at the Rumble.

Steiner was the one on offense most of the match, was fucking that up, and had to resort to the same move over and over and over again because he exhausted his move set, AND was blown up.

Albert's matches are better than that load of crap. Although HHH should have tried to take over on offense to try to save it--him doing 4 neckbreakers scattered among some shitty brawling and a knee here and there would have helped it a LITTLE bit...

It's kind of funny.

I don't like Edge because the WWE tries to make him into something he's not...(A star with all kinds of talent and charisma)

And then the WWE punishes him for not being the things they were trying to pretend he was.

That's messed up.

Then why do all I hear is about how HHH wants to be JUST like Ric Flair, yet he can't carry Steiner to a decent match when Flair could carry just about anyone?

I'd rather watch Steiner than Albert because it's hilarious. I laughed the whole match with my friends at the Rumble and by the 4th belly to belly the whole arena turned on him. I still have yet to see the tape of it....I want to see how it came out on TV.

Assume for an instance that HHH doesn't suck.

Steiner at this point is worse than JYD was when he fought Flair, and Flair couldn't get a good match out of him.

Yeah, but HHH is blameless. Nothing is ever his fault and if he's not getting much heat, it's someone or something else that is the cause. When he's in shitty matches the blame always falls on his opponent. So he isn't at fault for not trying to carry the match. Geez, I thought everyone knew that by now.

Hmm.....this is just disturbing........Vince really has no business running this company.

I remember there was a rumor that Flair had actually gotten a watchable match out of El Gigante at one point.

Don't know if that's true.

I'll put it this way, he got as good a match out of Gonzales that was humanly possible. If you want to talk of a horrid worker, it was that guy.

Why can't we leave HHH out of this thread?

I still say, now that I've thought about it, they put Edge in that fued with Albert simply to see if he could work a passable match with him. I really don't believe Edge tried the best he could, leading to his POSSIBLE (we don't know all of this for sure now) ending of his push.

Sure, I'll be glad to leave him out of it, but that was the example brought up of the obvious double-standard.

HHH was brought in like AndrewTS said b/c it is a huge double standard. HHH has a horrible match with Steiner and continues to stay in the main event. Edge has a bad match with Albert and is banished.

There are other examples, though. Kane and Test (okay, he hasn't been pushed to the main event, but he keeps getting pushed), or even Vince's goldenboy Brock Lesnar, who hasn't had any decent match besides the one with Rock.

Brock hasn't had a decent match aside from Rock??

I disagree- he had a really good match with Bubba Ray Dudley back when he first came in and he's had matches I'd consider decent with Test, RVD, Taker, and even the Big Show

I didn't think this could be talked about without bringing up HHH. This isn't about HHH, even if there is a double standerd, it's about Albert and Edge, ugh.
