I have the first ever rumble on PAL video tape. I thought it was from 1989 though.

 

Im sure rumbles happened before 1989, but I thought that 1989 was the first ever broadcast one.

1988 was a USA TV Rumble it was like a PPV except on free TV(like all of NWA's Clash of the Champions).

 

It didn't really well since they were testing the broadcast and it was mainly used to hype Hogan/Andre 2.

I have the 1988 Rumble too, but the VQ is weak.

I have almost all the SNME, and most of them are in VG quality. I also have the Rumble 88 in VG quality.

Right, I see. Was the '88 rumble ever released on commercial tape, or does it just exist from people taping it off tv?

the 88 rumble was called the rumble royal, the rumble match had only 20 participants

I don't think it was ever released. MY guess is people taped it off the original airing.

Yeah, never had a commercial release, I just want it for nostalgia reasons.
