Guest BoboBrazil Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 WWE got some good ratings news this week as Raw broke the 4 barrier for the first time in many months. The show did a 4.1 cable rating, with a 6 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. The show did hours of 3.9 and 4.2. 1wrestling.com
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Austin is the savior again!
Guest Kinetic Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Whoa. Can we attribute this to Austin?
Guest bob_barron Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Steiner pants falling down=ratings
Guest Eagan469 Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 this could only mean one thing... D'Lo = ratings!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 What is HHH going to do if ratings get up to the 5s when Austin actually appears?
Guest Zero_Cool Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 ..He'll turn face and align himself with Austin. However, I wonder if that would just cause Austin to get pissed again.
Guest Shanghai Kid 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I knew that all these continuing storylines on RAW would finally start to catch on with the fans. Let's just hope that after Austin comes, the WWE doesn't screw this up.
Guest razazteca Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 RVD and Kane were featured late in the show, who gets the credit for the rating spike? KANE of course.........damn you JR
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 "This is because they-uh want to see me beat Austin's ass dad!" "That's a great idea HHH! God you're a genius! You'll beat Austin every week until the PPV where you beat him in 5 seconds!" "I am the game!" "Screw you Vince. Steve Austin is gone again." Just you wait.....
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Let's not get too excited. Let's see if they can keep it up and capitalise on it.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I don't know about you, but Steiner looked like the one and only SuperWuss, what with getting beat down into his underwear and bleeding like a sissy. I know the Royal Rumble match was bad, but not everyone saw that. But Raw is different. I don't know how the crowd is going to bring themselves to cheer for a man who was powerbombed into a puddle of his own blood after his pants fell down.
Guest Downhome Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I think the HHH group has a bit to do with the ratings, I know I liked it. That, added with the talk of Austin, should both be looked at as the reason for the ratings rise.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Well they started to at least resort to some old school group heel tactics....namely stealing Kane's mask.
Guest D'Lo White Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 this could only mean one thing... D'Lo = ratings! I've been saying this for months. Also, No Test = Ratings
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 You mean protecting him from jobbing?
Guest Mole Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Raw's rating is going up for two reasons. 1) SCSA 2) Better storylines. For the first time in forever, Raw actually has storylines going on.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 It deserved it. I enjoyed that RAW, and now with the Austin return.....I see this could be the turnaround for RAW.
Mecha Mummy Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Also, No Test = Ratings Amen to that.
Guest AndrewTS Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I know the Royal Rumble match was bad, but not everyone saw that. Duh. The fact that Steiner still has fans proves no one buys the PPVs anymore.
Guest geniusMoment Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 The credit must go entirely to Austin. The wwe has booked much better Raws that drew very little in the way of ratings. Well also due to MNF not being on anymore, I guess I just contradicted myself, damn it.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Do you think HHH is starting to do well in the ratings. This show was pretty HHHorsemen heavy.
Guest CanadianChick Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 C'mon people: we all know the reason why Raw got that rating...Raw is Jericho!
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I think it's fair to say that No Football = ratings. With Austin coming back, Raw should hover around the 4's. Until football starts again...
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 MNF has been off for a while and RAW has still had bad ratings. It's not because of MNF going off.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 It should have been 2.3 for having Booker curtain jerk and have Steiner get his ass kicked again.
Guest deadbeater Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Jericho push-ups=ratings!!! Expect a King of the World Workout Video to come out soon.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Hey how come they never released a Rattlesnake Workout video? He'd show us what beer is best and what to order at the drive-through window so that we can all have a low center of gravity to.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 It should have been 2.3 for having Booker curtain jerk and have Steiner get his ass kicked again. Or you can look at it in a more positive way in that Booker could have got the ball rolling right from the start. As for Steiner...... no comment. It's funny how just merely dropping Austin's name a few times increases the numbers.
Guest Johnny Blaze Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting some 1996 deja vu. Company's in a hole, Vince is trying to bring back his previous big star after a creative disagreement. Sounds a lot like when Bret first came back. This isn't a conspiracy theory, just something that occured to me.
