Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 26, 2003 How far will this show take Clark Kent. Will we ever see Superman.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2003 I believe the show creators said he wasn't going to put on the costume or consciously fly in the show. They wanted to focus on Clark and once he did one of those two things he would become Superman and make Clark a simple alter ego. Of course things change, but I'm pretty sure that was their intentions.
Guest EQ Report post Posted February 26, 2003 I hate it when they do a episode this good that gets me all ready for the next episode and then there isn't a new episode next week. And you know what really blows donkey balls? We're not getting a new Smallville episode till APRIL 15TH! Doesn't THAT suck! http://www.tvtome.com/Smallville/eplist.html
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Good grief. It's being directed by the director of Halloween 8 too. Now I don't mind the wait.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Hey, Rick Rosenthal has directed a few Smallville episodes already and he did Halloween II too. Dames
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2003 The "ruling the world" thing makes no sense. Reeve's charcater said that Jor-El wanted whoever found Clark to "deliver him from evil." Ruling the world is generally considered to be an evil thing to do or attempt, considering all teh war and killing involved in gaining that position. I too marked the fuck out for the Superman music and have been whistling it all day. Smallville has gotten way better this year. My girlfriend disliked the show when I made her start watching it and now she's more hooked on it than I am. I love that they're reallty planting gthe seeds for Lex to become EVIL~! and Clark to become Superman. They need to wait a few years before having Tom Welling wear teh costume though. He's 24 and looks about 18, Superman shouldn't look like "Superteen". But nonetheless these charcaters and these actors coud take Superman back onto the big screen and we really wouldn't need another origin movie, the origin is already there in the show. They could just haev Clark make teh decision to become Superman at the beginning and go from there. The biddest problem I see it that Clark doesn't wear glasses or any other type of disguise and Lex, Chloe, and Lana (Mmmmmmmmm.......Lana) wil recognize him right away. Maybe they could use the shaking head thing like they do in the comics. (When Clark is Superman he constantly shakes his head to blur any pictures and his appearance. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 26, 2003 I wouldn't expect in a movie that Chloe or Lana would be involved. Hopefully at least. I mean, once he becomes Superman he'll be all about Lois. As far as Lex, him knowing who he is is what makes it more intriguing then seeing the standard Lex/Superman relationship AGAIN. It gives it more dimension like the cave wall thing said. They're two brothers, one evil and one good. In the original movie, Clark didn't wear a disguise until he moved to Metropolis and became Superman. I figure if I can suspend disbelief that none of these people in Smallville haven't figured it out by now, I can suspend disbelief for it again in a movie. I mean, this show has a lot of stupid things in that you have to really swallow hard to get down, but the show is good enough to overcome them. I think a movie would be the same. Better than the current one at least. I mean, when Ashton Kutchner reads the Superman script and passes on it, that's not a good sign. He reads Dude Wheres My Car - "Hey, this is good, I should do this!" He reads Superman - "Eh...pass!" Which episodes did Rosenthal direct? I just went through the episode guide and didn't see his name on any of them. There were two that didn't have a director listed though.

I don't think Kutchner would make a good Clark/Superman anyway. But I have to mention... "Dude, Where's My Car?" was a great movie. I thought it was going to be stupid, but when I watched it, I loved it.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Kelso was asked to be Superman!? WTF! Who's idea was that? He weighs about 150lbs soaking wet with rocks in his pockets. SuperStoner wouldn't sell too well. Lethargic, I would keep Lana in the movie version and drop Lois. They have spent way too much time devoloping the Clark/Lana relationship to just drop it. Unless they plan on having them get together (which is the kiss of death for shows like this one) and break up and that causing Clark to move to Metropolis, which is only about 3 hours away in the show's world. That's another problem, in the comics Clark wants to go off and make it on his own in what ammounts to NYC, not Topieka (SP?). The good thing about this is that these are relatively minor problems. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Yeah, but I'm hoping Lana falls off a friggin cliff or something a long time before a possible movie.

Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Yeah, but I'm hoping Lana falls off a friggin cliff or something a long time before a possible movie. Why? She may not be the best actress in the world but she is very hot. i'd fuck her in a 1/2 second. http://www.kryptonsite.com/ Has an incomplete list of the shows and i don't see Rosenthal's name as a director. But the episode that Dames mentioned doesn't have a director listed.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Why? She may not be the best actress in the world but she is very hot. i'd fuck her in a 1/2 second. Because I can't stand her. She's cute and all but I couldn't say very hot. And I don't care how hot she is, it'd take a lot more than her looks to get past that annoying pissy ass stuck up character. Lana Lang is one of the most annoying character in TV history. I watch every episode in hope that she'll get killed, hurt or dumped by Clark. Anything painful. Anything painful. Oh come on! One of the most annoying characters in TV history?! Why does she annoy you so much? There is nothing about her that doesn't annoy me. From the faces she makes, to the way she talks, to the way the character is written. She's got a friggin superhero after her that's so friggin pretty I'd go out with him, but she keeps leading him on and leading him on. This whole love triangle is just so damn annoying. Just get over the slut and go bang Chloe. Good Lord. I wanna kick my TV everytime I hear Lana say "This sounds serious...." or "My feelings for Clark....". Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted February 26, 2003 I agree with Lethargic on how a Superman movie would ditch Lana and the other Smallville cast members (besides maybe the parents and Lex) in order to concentrate on the blooming love triangle between Clark/Lois/Superman when he hits Metropolis. On the face shaking deal: The pre-Crisis Superman would do this while the post-Crisis Superman currently relies on his keen ability to keep his secret identity hidden from those he does not want to have know about it by...being Clark Kent and simply wearing a pair of glasses. John Byrne, the man who revamped the Superman legacy and franchise in the mid 80's, said in an interview how the idea of having Superman shake his body all the time whenever he would go out in public was ridiculous and said that it was too much of a stretch for fans to buy into along with it being a hassle for Supes. On Lana Lang: Kreuk is very pretty but she is *too* petite for my tastes since I like my women to have some meat on their bones and not look like they are about to fly away whenever a gust of wind occurs. I think that Kreuk's aloof yet sometimes shallow character fits the mold of the pre-Crisis Lana Lang quite well since Lana was always trying her best to be a good person but was really just very materialistic and air headed which made for a nice balanace of motivation within the character. I don't share Lethargic's sentiment about how Kreuk/Lang should fall off a cliff or anything since there have been way more annoying characters than her on TV in the past and even current time periods. Kreuk's portrayal of a young Lana Lang is about as good as I have seen from any of the Lang versions in movies and/or TV since every show would portray Lana as this sweet girl who could do no wrong which couldn't be farther from the truth. It was nice to see Reeve's in a Superman related medium again and John William's theme music for the Superman movie is still one of my favorite movie soundtrack's to listen to. Guest Some Guy Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Well you have a point there, Clark is pretty cute. I think the Lana character could be better written but I'd rather be with her than Chloe. Chloe not only reminds me way too much of my sister but is also annoying, pretenious, and nosey, sorry that is why she reminds me of my sister. And Lana is way better looking. So there: LANA > CHLOE
Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted February 27, 2003 Lana was always aloof and unsure as a character in the comic books. The writers portrayal of Lana in the show is more or lessa accurate in how she would have acted in high school by being a complete air head in certain situations. Anyone who has been through high school has encountered a Lana Lang once or twice during those 4 years. Living in So Cal, you see a lot of these types of girls walking around and thinking that their tans will help make the world a better place for the animals. Seriously though, Lana's character is the ditz she should be. Chloe would be a wild cat in the sack I'd imagine but after that you'd have to stick something in her mouth since she would most likely be hung up on the whole experience. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted February 27, 2003 I don't think Chloe would be doing much talking after Clark blows a hole through her back.

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2003 Umm..ok I thought I had caught everything on Smallville but maybe I missed this little event happening sometime in the past few weeks but.... WHEN THE FUCK DID LIONEL LUTHOR GET HIS EYESIGHT BACK? Anyone who can fill me in on this little thing would be much appreciated. Last time I saw Lionel (I thought maybe, I'm not sure) was when he and Martha were being held hostage in his office.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2003 Lionel got his sight back awhile ago. He had his sight back and then faked being blind for a little while longer until Lex figured out he was faking. This happened many episodes ago this season
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2003 Thing I liked about tonight's episode was Lex was REALLY starting to show signs of going bad when he bailed that guy out of jail.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2003 Dammit how do I miss these things?? Now I'm pissed. I can't even remember him being caught faking the whole blindness thing. I'll have to stew about this now....
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2003 Thing was Lionel was blind for awhile, but it was just a temporary blindness. When he got his sight back he decided to fake it for a little while. The breaks in new episodes are weird for Smallville. You might have missed a new episode and not known it. Plus the lack of "Previously on..." at the beginning doesn't help.
