Maven is Black & White Mixed...Rock was Black and Hawaian mixed. Quite a difference.

This is not about race or TE 1 it's about Maven. Maven has the same last name as Booker and Stevie and his first name sounds like Raven. He has wrestling in the blood. Maven was doing pretty good and I had no qualms with the dropkick. He was Virgil II if you will. He should have put up the valiant fight and lost and be an underdog. As far as now, he's not gonna be anything.

Maven really got screwed when he broke his leg. At that point he was getting some pretty nice pops, he was about to get Torrie as a manager, and he got to eliminate the Undertaker from the Rumble in a true "holy shit" moment.

Now...well first he gets brought back with no fanfare, and now he's just a TE guy. He hasn't developed any kind of personality that doesn't involve TE, which has been a problem with most of the winners. They hype up that they won TE so much, it becomes a part of these guys, and when they try to move on...they can't play the rookie forever. TE IS their character...and the fans can't see past that, and after a while they get bored. Notice the two successful TE grads so far - Nowinski was able to avoid the TE stigma and develop his Harvard character, and Nidia's "trailer park trash" character is far removed from anything TE.

I'm not sure what you could do with Maven though. He's stuck with all the other mid-carders on RAW, which isn't helping his cause. Maybe if he turned on Snow and became a heel...he could follow Nowinski, and maybe add the TE3 grads to form an NBT-type group, though since that's a WCW idea it wouldn't fly in WWE.
