Guest Dmann2000 Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 One Night Only Capital Carnage Insurrextion 2000, 2001, 2002 Rebellion 2000, 2001, 2002 No Mercy 1999 Which ones here are actually worthwhile?
Guest bob_barron Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Rebellion 2001 is a very good show. E v. C, Austin v. Rock, Angle v. Jericho, Hurricane v. S2H- you get some good stuff. Rebellion 1999 was a pretty good show- HHH v. Rock have their usual very good match
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Insurrextion 2001 has Benoit/Angle in 2 out of 3 falls, and a good Jericho/Regal match, but not much else.
Guest IPCRivalSchools Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 One Night Only was awesome live, and on tape stands up as the second best WWF PPV of 1997 behind Canadian Stampede, with a *** 1/2 match between Vader and Owen Hart, and Bret Taker hovering around the **** barrier as the highlights - the Michaels/Bulldog ME is a touch of a disappointment from a technical standpoint, but is excellent just for the heat and energy involved. Rebellion '99 is also a good wtch, but IMO is just a two match show, with only the Rock/HH cage match ME and Jericho/Road Dogg bout being worth your time. Ian
Guest Aero Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 One Night Only was awesome live, and on tape stands up as the second best WWF PPV of 1997 behind Canadian Stampede, with a *** 1/2 match between Vader and Owen Hart, and Bret Taker hovering around the **** barrier as the highlights - the Michaels/Bulldog ME is a touch of a disappointment from a technical standpoint, but is excellent just for the heat and energy involved. I wish I could find an original copy of One Night Only, because the WWF Home Video version has some matches cut, particuarly Bret-Undertaker. Rebellion 2002 sounds pretty good, though. It has an Edge vs. Brock & Paul Heyman handicap match for the Title, Angle & Benoit vs. Los Guerreros for the Tag Titles, Booker T vs. Matt Hardy, and then there's a few useless matches like Rikishi vs. A-Train. But, if you buy it on DVD, you get HBK-Bulldog from One Night Only as an extra. I plan on picking it up soon.
Guest kurtangledoesnotsuck Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Insurexxtion 2000 is a good event. A very good Rock vs Triple H main-event with an everyone goes home happy ending. THe PPVS after that have been very disappointing with insurexxtion 2001 being the worst. Triple H and Austin vs Undertaker *shudders* Rebellion 2000 and 2001 are worth a look if only for their main-events.
Guest Andy Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I haven't seen Rebellion 2002 yet, but I've seen the rest. One Night Only is an awesome event (which I have complete, but in PAL.) I would seriously put it in the top WWE PPV's ever, behind WrestleMania 17, No Way Out '01, Backlash '00 and SummerSlam '01. The average match rating would have been close to ***, with 3 **** matches on it. Cheers, Andy
Guest Si82 Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I'd say that One Night Only, and the Rebellion shows are worth checking out. Plus, I gotta shill No Mercy 1999. It was bad card on TV but I was there in person and it wasn't that bad live. Honest!
Guest Brian Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I have Rebellion 2002. Brock/Heyman vs. Edge is a good carry job on Brock's part, the tag match is great, the cruiser three-way is a lotta fun, and I think there's another match on there that is pretty decent.
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 ONE NIGHT ONLY has that awesome Vader/Owen match and HBK/Bulldog was a classic , this was the last time the Europen title meant anything.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Rebellion 2002 is a decent card, not much is awful for a change (except Rikishi Vs Albert) and the tag match is superb Avoid capital carnage like the plague though, it's by far the worst tape I own
Guest Dmann2000 Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I watched Benoit/Angle from Insurrextion 2001, nifty match and of course cool to see a 2/3 falls match end in the first 2 falls. Someone should do a comp of all the Benoit/Angle stuff as opponents/partners/promos etcs.
Guest bob_barron Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Insurrextion 2000 is pretty good. Bulldog's last title win, Angle v. Benoit, Jericho v. Eddy and a fun Rock v. Shane v. HHH main event
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 One Night Only Capital Carnage Insurrextion 2000, 2001, 2002 Rebellion 2000, 2001, 2002 No Mercy 1999 I've been to all the above apart from the 2002 shows. You've missed Rebellion 99 from that list, which was Ok. One Night Only is great.
