Guest Sandman9000 Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Announced matches "Sick" Nick Mondo challenges the Messiah, most likely for Messiah's CZW Heavyweight Championship. CZW Tag Team Championship Match: H8 Club (Nick Gage & Nate Hatred) © vs. Backseat Boys (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) CZW Jr. Heavyweight Championship: Ruckus © vs. Sonjay Dutt CZW return of B-Boy! A deathmatch has been announced, but with whom? New BJW Deathmatch Champion Nate Hatred already has a match! A new tag team will debut, as well as two other stars. From what I've heard, two are from Georgia, and two are from Florida. I know the Lost Boys, out of Wildside, have appeared in CZW, but I got a feeling that the two from Georgia could be them. As for Florida, please not Billy Fives, please not Billy Fives, please not Billy Fives... An interesting note that's kinda out of place, Necro Butcher has severed ties with IWA-MS. As far as I know, Necro is still willing to work for CZW. We've got a deathmatch that needs people...
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 When you have a guy named The Messiah main eventing, great names for shows just come out of thin air.
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 billy fives was a good idea ...... in theory I wonder what the messiah backseats dewey group is going to end up being called. as for the new guys i hope they will become regulars in czw
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 The guys from Georgia ARE NOT The Lost Boys. Trust me. Not saying who they are, however.
Guest ShooterJay Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Can I at least take a guess SC, and you can tell me if I'm wrong? I know T-N-T have worked for CZW, is it them?
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 No, not TNT. Tony Stradlin (member w/ long black hair) moved to California, and I heard he's started working for UPW. PM me.
Guest EMAXSAUN Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I would go, but since there is a ROH show in the Eks Ldge in NYC and I live in NYC, I am going to ROH. Its the ROH 1 year anniversary show Contender's Trophy Match- Winner Gets A Title Shot That Night Low Ki vs. Paul London vs. AJ Styles ROH Title Match Xavier (champion) vs. winner of #1 Contender's Trophy three-way Strong Style Rematch American Dragon Bryan Danielson vs. Samoa Joe Civil War Jay Briscoe vs. Mark Briscoe Grudge Match Steve Corino vs. Homicide The Mother Of All Scrambles Amazing Red, SAT, Hit Squad & Divine Storm vs. Jody Fleisch, Izzy, Dixie, Slim J, Deranged, Angel Dust & Hydro with Slugger and Yeyo One-fall To A Finish Four-way Colt Cabana vs. EZ Money vs. Michael Shane vs. Chad Collyer Special Challenge CM Punk vs. Reckless Youth
Guest Sandman9000 Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I know what you mean emax. Both shows look absolutely stacked. There is no way CZW is getting the NY crowd for their show, and might actually have some people from philly go up to NY for the ROH show. I don't know if I should be glad that I'm not in a position where I would have to choose which show to go to. If I was, I think I'd go ROH, and then get CZW on tape, since SMV is better and cheaper then getting a tape through RF, or maybe a dealer. Like I said, both shows are stacked.
Chunk Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 WOW! That ROH card looks incredible! I also like the fancy graphic for the CZW show. Pretty sweet. ChUnK!
Guest gangsteruwa Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 CZW has been getting very professional looking as of late. It's quite amazing to see the transition they made from even just a year ago. I'm really looking forward to this show. I just wish ROH wouldn't have run the same day. I mean they know CZW always runs on the second weekend of every month. I'm not expecting huge things from the "suprise wrestlers" but I'll be happy anyway. Hell I was happy with Billy Fives. Why do people have a problem with him? He and Justice Pain had a very good match. Sure most people didn't know who the fuck he was, but he still did a good job.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I didn't see Pain vs. Fives, so I can't comment on the match, but I've heard that the crowd shat on him so much that there is no way they could bring him back. That and the fact that Billy Fives has been turned into a running joke around CZW, and I don't think that there is a way to bring Fives back into CZW.
Chunk Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I'm really looking forward to this show. I just wish ROH wouldn't have run the same day. I mean they know CZW always runs on the second weekend of every month. Yeah, that show made Chris Daniels unavailable for FWA as well. I guess thats just the way it goes sometimes. ChUnK!
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 yeah with billy fives the shoes he was trying to fill were just way too big for him to dream of filling . look at the people who were already brought in to face justice pain that year. (messiah and jerry lynn) so you can understand when pain said he was making another open chalange the fans let there imaginations run a little wild
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Especially when CM Punk was brought in for the next show, as well. Out of all the open challenges, Fives was the biggest egg.
Guest What? Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 That CZW show does look really good. Messiah was the only person in XPW that I liked (actually...him and Johnny Webb...I just don't know why) and that match against Nick Mondo is gonna be killer. on a side note, I really hope Paul London wins the Triple Threat. I mark for him huge, my friends. HUGE.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I posted this at the CZWfans board. Bit fantasy, but just hear me out. I'll just skip to the point. "What if" Messiah and the Backseats became part of Christopher Daniels' Prophecy stable? I mostly became inspired by the logo for the show, with Prophecy in the title, as well as the anok, the Egyptian crucifix-looking symbol in the logo. Add to the fact that Daniels, from what I've seen, ISN'T on the card for the ROH Queens show. I realize the foolishness of my suggestion, as well as the knowledge that it can't possibly come true, but an inter-promotional stable would be tremendous for the Philly market, as well as fans in general. A working agreement for ROH and CZW hopefully would serve to benefit both parties and their respective fans.
Chunk Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Sounds like an awesome idea to me. And in wrestling, never say never ChUnK!
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 The one problem with the idea is the egos involved to who and on whos show woude they lose to. That being the case prophacy team of Messiah, Christopher Daniels, and Samoa Joe vs the h8 club of Nick Mondo, Nate Hatred, and Nick Gage coude headline just about any show
Guest GroundZeroSplash Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 Larry Goodmans Wildside report lists Tony Mamaluke and Jimmy Rave as being booked for CZW 2/8. I sure hope Jeff G. Bailey is going to be with them, and that Iceberg will be in soon too.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 I heard that too on the CZW board. Iceberg himself posted on the board and said he'd be interesting in coming to CZW. Who better to replace Lobo and Wifebeater with then Necro Butcher and The "No Pain" Train? BTW, to anyone who knows ::Looks at Styles Clash:: how good is Iceberg?
Guest Sturgis Posted February 3, 2003 Report Posted February 3, 2003 He's ok for his size, but I personally don't like him. Maybe because he seems to get pushed down my thorat on Wildside TV or I just don't like big guys period. Who knows?
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 A late addition to the card. KEVIN SULLIVAN has been added, as IWS up in Canadia is flying him down. Sullivan? I know he's old school hardcore and shit, but this is CZW. It's only a one night deal, and it's practically free for CZW, but still, why bring him in?
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 How good's Iceberg? He's actually really good. He bumps awesome, especially considering his size (he's billed as 600 pounds, and looks to be at least 450 of it). He's especially been great in his series of matches with David Young, including an amazing No DQ match at the Wildside 3rd Anniversary Show. So, if Iceberg ends up going there, it'll be good news. Btw, word coming from Bill Behrens on the Wildside Message Board is that Jimmy Rave & Tony Mamaluke will NOT be at the CZW show; they're working for Bob Ryder in Nashville on Saturday.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 As of fairly recently, after the Sullivan story broke, Zandig called PWBTS reporter Bob Magee and said that Rave and Mamaluke were still booked for CZW, as far as he knew. Hmmmmm. I don't know who to believe for this one. I'm thinking Behrens, since he is their regular promoter. Dammit Behrens, I wanted Rave and Mamaluke.
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Trust me, unless I'm being worked (and I'm pretty much sure I'm not), Mamaluke & Rave will be in Nashville on Saturday. Where'd you hear about Zandig talking to Magee?
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 czwfans board. Magee said that Zandig called called him about the Sullivan situation, if I remember correctly.
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Found it. I'm really confused. Who knows now?
Guest gangsteruwa Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Sandman, I just want to correct something you said. The IWS that is flying Sullivan in is not the IWS from Canada (that group is called Internet Wrestling Syndicate). The IWS with Sullivan is International Wrestling Superstars, and they are apparently Philly based. http://www.iwswrestling.net/
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Thanks. I'm just used to thinking the Canadian group when I see IWS, especially since some of their wrestlers post on the CZWfans board. It didn't make sense as to why they would be flying Kevin Sullivan into CZW, but little makes sense in wrestling anymore.
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 To end the rumors once and for all, Bob Ryder just sent out a press release for his show tonight in Nashville that includes the announcment of Jimmy Rave vs. Tony Mamaluke tonight in Nashville. So, that's basically official confirmation that they, despite what John Zandig says, will not be in Philly tonight.
