The Ladder match was the best...

And this guy reminds me of that guy who was obsessed with the WWE bringing in Shane Douglas, and said that Justin Credible was a better technical wrestler then Chris Benoit....

how good was the iron man match?

HHH, Rock, Taker, HBK, X Pac, and Road Dogg were all on screen at the same time and I didn't turn it off. That's how exciting the match was.

One of my favorite Rock-HHH moments was a match on RAW which was supposed to be HHH/Gunn/Chyna vs. Dogg/X-Pac/Kane for the "ownership" of DX. Kane didn't come out and so HHH started bragging and saying how they should just forfeit the match to HHH's group. Then at just about the last second before the match was going to start, the Rock's music hit, crowd went apeshit, and Rock helped Dogg/Pac win the match. That The Rock would team up with longtime foes like Road Dogg and X-Pac showed just how much he hated HHH.

I've seen just about every single Rock/HHH match ever and the one thing that surprised and intrigued about their rivalry was the huge number of times HHH put Rock over in matches. Who would ever have thought that their Intercontinental Title match on Thursday RAW Thursday in Febuary of 1997 would only be the begining for those two.

That was when Rocky Maivia won the IC title from Greenwich Snob Hunter Hearst Helmsley, right?

Rock and HHH's roots actually go back to Rockys first match when they were on opposing sides at the 1996 Survivor Series.

Rock and HHH seem to always put on a great match.

I've seen almost all of their matches and I've never seen a bad one.

As far as I am concerned, their Judgement Day Iron Man match is the highlight of their rivalry. If not for the stupid Taker bike-in at the end (with screwed up camera angles to shadow it's dramatic effect slightly), that match would be one of my favorites ever.

I disagree. You can't tell me you didn't go wild when Undertaker returned and everyone in the crowd went equally bananas. I'm not an Undertaker fan, but that finish is still one of my favourites.

Well, the pre-PPV promos with the spooky little girls kind of tipped me off that Taker was coming back. So I wasn't really surprised. But you see, there are several things that culminate in a real markout moment for me. And if I'm watching a televised wrestling event, I expect good camera work to be a part of it.

I remember one shot right when Taker was coming back. It was just as his bike (what would become his signature thing with the new BikerTaker gimmick) appeared on the ramp with him riding. Know what I saw? If I recall correctly, I saw X-Pac's ass. If not Pac, it was somebody else, but I saw some guy's ass instead of The Undertaker making his triumphant return to the WWF. The worst shot at the wrost possible moment.

Killed the whole thing for me, unfortunately. The match up to that point was super, I love it, but that f'ed up production blunder killed Taker's return for me.

I haven't like Taker since I was about 13, and I knew he was coming back. But when he showed up on a chopper with a leather duster and gave Pac the Chokeslam to End All Chokeslams, even I marked.

Ironically, that was the last time Taker got anyone more than 2 feet off the ground for a chokeslam. I bet he gave himself a hernia.

PS - yes, the Iron Man match is one of my favorite matches, if you couldn't tell.

I didn't care for their last meeting on RAW before Summerslam. They didn't seem to click like they normally do.

I honestly HATED Billy Gunn around the time of Summerslam 99, because Rock/HHH would lock up a couple of time on RAW, and he'd always come in a beat up the Rock. I MARKED for Rock/HHH matches back then and when he fucked them up, it REALLY pissed me off.

I think the Rock could get a good match out of Triple H now.

I can't believe I said that, and if I had 3 years ago, I would have laughed at myself.

Their WWF Title match at Wrestlemania 16 was great, until that half-assed, screwjob ending. Who couldn't see Vince turning on Rocky.

Yes, that's an underrated match. But it's their own fault, for doing that ending.

I have The Rock's "People's Champ" video, and it has four Rock/HHH matches.

RAW

Rock vs. HHH vs. Taker-triple threat match

The Rock vs. Triple H-Steel Cage match

Fully Loaded

The Rock vs. Triple H-Strap Match

Smackdown

Triple H vs. The Rock-WWF Championship (Special Guest Ref:HBK)

The Rock got a pretty good match out of Triple H last time they faced.

The Wrestlemania 16 match is pretty awesome and it would've been much better had the McMahons not overshadowed it.

Yeah, and I'm sure that Rock would've won the title like it shoud be, since it came down to Rock & HHH. We all know that 9/10 the babyface always wins and walks out with the title at Wrestlemania.

Amazing the amount of matches these two have been in together.

Here they are in chronological order:

4 on 4 elimination match, Survivor Series 1996

2/3 Falls match, Fully Loaded 1998

Ladder match, Summerslam 1998

I Quit match, January Raw 1999

Strap match, Fully Loaded 1999

Brahma Bullrope match, September Smackdown 1999

Steel Cage match, Rebellion 1999

Fatal Four-way elimination match, Wrestlemania 2000

Iron Man match, Judgement Day 2000

6 Man Hell in a Cell match, Armageddon 2000

And of course dozens of other matches over both the Intercontinetal and WWF titles.

The WWE could put together a great video or DVD, chronicaling the Rock/HHH rivalry. Include every match they ever had on TV and on PPV. They could also include some promos and even exclusive commentary.
