Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 I have the first WK Media PPV presentation of a Big Japan event, titled in the states on PPV as "Japanese Hardcore Wrestling" with Joel Gertner and Missy Hyatt on commentary (and Joel proving he's more than just an innuendo-filled color commentator by doing pretty good play-by-play), and enjoyed two of the card's 6 matches. The thing is, there's another PPV of Big Japan tomorrow night, once again presented by WK Media titled "Japanese Hardcore Wrestling III," and I'm interested in how quality of a card it is. This post is mostly directed at Sandman and YNA, as they're the top fans of hardcore wrestling here it seems. So, if either of you have seen this show, how good is it? MATCHES Sasuke/Orihara vs. Togo/Psychic Yamakawa vs. Hido (Thumbtacks) Shadow WX vs. Mad Man Pondo (Light Tubes) The Hit Squad vs. Shunme/Matsuzaki/Numazawa Ryuji Ito/Men's Teioh vs. Daisuke Sekimoto/Daisoku Shimoda EDIT: I have little doubt this will be moved to the Puro folder, but please let Sandman get a reply first.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Let me see what I know about this. First, Eric Gargulio of CZW fame is doing commentary for this, along with someone else. Honestly, I've seen none of these matches, but I believe that Winger vs. Homicide is also on the card. This same company promoted a poorly attended event in NYC, with an ME of Homicide defeating Winger for the Big Japan Jr. Heavyweight belt. The one that Trent Acid holds is the old BJW Jr. belt that is not recognized anymore, and I think CZW killed it off at their last show. Plus, I've seen it on the advertisment they have over at 411. Other then that, I know nothing of any of these matches. Pondo/Shadow WX will probably suck, Yamakawa vs. Hido should be decent, as Hido has showed a willingness to die lately, I'm guessing Da Hit Squad's match is a handicap one, as DHS is composed of Monsta Mack and Mafia, as far as I know. Other then that, I'm in the dark, as I am with most of these WK Media PPVs. If I could get PPV here at the campus, I'd consider getting it, but then I'd also consider getting TNA if I could. For 10 bucks, 5-6 matches is a good deal. I'd go for it, personally.
Chunk Posted February 1, 2003 Report Posted February 1, 2003 Is this the show that was advertised by a banner on 411? Or am I thinking of something else? ChUnK!
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Yes, Chunk. That's where I heard of it.
