Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2003 This is the final edition of Makin The Tag. I’m retiring after this column. When I say “retiring” I don’t mean like Terry Funk or Mick Foley, the end of this edition will be the end of the column for good. I would like the personally thank Vince McMahon for proving beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt that he is in fact the biggest jackass on God’s green Earth. Vince is by no means MENSA material, but his latest move truly shows off his inability to live in this little realm I like to call reality. Every time you think he can’t get any dumber, he does the unthinkable and tops his pervious bumbling by doing something so incredibly stupid that it really makes you stop and wonder how he got this far in life without killing himself in some freak accident involving a toaster oven and a pop tart. But just what has Vinnie Mac done that I think is so stupid and ill-advised that it tops all of his previous screw ups combined? Vince has stooped to an all time low by kissing the ass of the very same man that left him high and dry when he needed him the most. The return of Stone Cold Steve Austin is completely and totally inexcusable in the eyes of any TRUE wrestling fan. When Austin walked out last June, he walked out on everyone. He walked out on the company, and he walked out on his fans. Did you get an explanation from him? I didn’t. No one did. He turned his back to everyone and ran with his tail between his legs like a coward. He didn’t even have the guts to explain his actions. Supposedly he left because he was upset with the direction of his character as well as that of the company. So now he decides to come back? Whatever Vince and Steve are on, I want some too! I’m by no means the sharpest knife in the drawer but this isn’t exactly the golden era of professional wrestling as far as the WWE goes. To put in bluntly, the product sucks! Raw is perhaps the most painful thing in the world to watch, other than Oprah and Judge Judy having a threesome with Carrot Top that is. If he left because he wasn’t happy before, just how long is it going to take him to get pissed off and leave again since the show has the same production quality of scrambled porn? When he returns, I wonder if he will be thrust into the spotlight as always? Of course he will! How convenient will it be for the very same man that walked away from the company without saying a word to come back and return to the exact same spot that he was in the company prior to his leaving? Now if Maven pulled some stunt like this you can bet your ass that he wouldn’t be getting the same hero’s welcome that Austin is getting? What kind of a message is this sending to the locker room? If you aren’t happy, walk out like a little bitch. In about a year we will drop to our knees and pleasure you until you decide to grace us with your presence again. And by the way, you don’t have to worry because we won’t allow any of the guys who have been busting their asses, working hard, and showing up for work night after night after night to take your spot in the company. How would you like to be someone like RVD, busting your ass night after night, showing up injured or healed, doing all that you can with what little time you get every night, not really going anywhere in the company and then see them kiss Austin’s ass like this and give him his old spot back. Can you say “revolt” boys and girls? I would storm the God damned Bastille! And Steve ain’t exactly the most rationally thinking individual anyway. I can’t believe that people are excited to see this low life, wife beating, son of a bitch! His elevator simply does not go all the way to the top. You disagree? Oh, so normal guys his size beating up women is a rational, normal behavior? Give me a break! It comes down to this: fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me! Bringing him back is a slap in the face to fans and wrestlers alike. He wanted his ass kissed all along and he is getting his wish. Vince thinks that this is going to be the answer to all his problems. Maybe he should look into a lobotomy. All this is going to do is create more problems among the talent and it is not going to fix the piss poor quality, ratings, or buyrates. The company is not one man. They need to stop acting like it. Bringing back Stone Cold Steve Austin will truly kill the company from within. He can go to hell. Vince can go to hell. I’m done with both of them. I’m done with the WWE. I’m done with wrestling. The very people that created my passion for the business are also the very same people that have destroyed my passion for the business. This move proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Vince has no idea what he is doing and I refuse to watch him WCW away his family’s creation! Why don’t they just get David Arquette for a title match at Wrestlemania and get it over with? Thank you for reading and God bless, Krueges My opinion exactly, although I won't stop watching like him.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted February 2, 2003 My opinion exactly, although I won't stop watching like him. Meh, it's a twofolded dagger. Frankly, I don't think Vince really has a choice in doing his decision (seeing how messed up Raw is [via a certain someone]), but I'm not saying I agree with it either. But that won't make me stop watching. I'll stop watching wrestling when it doesn't hold my interest in some fashion.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2003 (seeing how messed up Raw is [via a certain someone]) What's funny is that HHH is the most hated guy by the smarks...yet he's the most talked about.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 2, 2003 to come back and return to the exact same spot that he was in the company prior to his leaving He's gonna have no direction, midcard all the PPVs and feud with the Big Show?
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 2, 2003 Well that was one of the stupidest things I've ever read. I don't even know who that guys is. Am I supposed to know him or care? Seriously, it was one of the stupidest things ever.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted February 2, 2003 I thought that the message the WWF sent when they had Austin about to job to Lesnar in a throw-away match on RAW is a heck of a lot worse than them taking back Stone Cold - because it says "you can make us a lot of money and work your ass off - but that doesn't matter." Oh yeah, it also sent the message of "we are fucking morons who don't know how to run a wrestling promotion" too.

Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted February 2, 2003 The only message I see in rehiring Austin is "We can admit when we are wrong" Actually, I think it's more to the tune of "oh god, we really need somebody who can actually draw on Monday Night." Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 2, 2003 That too. They kind of go together. "oh god, we really need somebody who can actually draw on Monday Night, and we are morons for forcing that guy out of the company"
Guest IB2BLACK Report post Posted February 2, 2003 They both need each other. Vince needs Austin for the $$$$$, while Austin probably needs, the splotlight. Nothing like 15,000 people going crazy for you, when the glass breaks.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 2, 2003 Nothing like 15,000 people going crazy for you, when the glass breaks. What does that have anything to do with why Steve came back? The last time 15, 000 people showed up to Raw, Vince cleverly fooled them into thinking it was the Ice Capades. Fortunately for Vince, with and RVD match and an HHH soliloquy early, they didn't catch on until the 45 minute mark, at which point Test came out and the gig was up. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted February 2, 2003 Oh wow. Yes it's so bad for Steve Austin to come back. The man who can put on a great match with his eyes closed. The man that can draw ratings and attendance when he's at the right place on the card. The man who, if you read his interview, is willing to put some new stars over with the right buildup, oh and the man that would probably make RAW f'n entertaining again. Yes let's not bring this man back.
Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted February 3, 2003 its pretty sad that the wwe have gotten soo pathetic that they need these big stars to help them... im all for austin comin back.. as long as he can get it done in the ring... but he wont fix the wwe.... i cant believe they have they the product go to shit like it has... with no competition its easy to do i guess

Only guy they can think of that could actually lose to Triple H and still look great doing it. Even if Triple H basically screws Austin out right. Besides, it means they can then promote the heel who beats Austin, then turn him face (or leave him as heel if you can possibly do so) and beat the hell out of Triple H for the title. ...ok, I just wanna see Triple H lose the damned belt. IF anything, at least Austin winning it will at least be someone other than Triple H (I'd prefer Jericho, but he's now officially everyone's bitch).
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 3, 2003 I just want to echo my post from above, that that guy is a moron. Just why in the hell do we care what some idiot like him thinks anyhow? Does he have an actual reputation!?

Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 3, 2003 He's a nobody guest columnist from LOP - who thought that Big Show and Michaels winning at Survivor Series were GOOD things. Put that into perspective. I think this quote right here... Bringing back Stone Cold Steve Austin will truly kill the company from within. ...may be the most stupid thing that a "wrestling fan" has ever said. I can't think of too many things that could top that one right there.

How convenient will it be for the very same man that walked away from the company without saying a word to come back and return to the exact same spot that he was in the company prior to his leaving? So I guess when The Rock goes and makes boring action movies twice, and as soon as he comes back gets an immediate World Title win, that's excusable. But when Austin leaves because of the way the creative team and Vince handled his character (which was handled poorly), that's absolutely a no-no. I don't know about anyone else, but there's always a double-edged sword to topics such as these.
