I'm afraid to download the clip...What if it's actually good? My Gawd!

All right I bit the bullet...It wasn't that good...Hardly even sounded like them...

Which one ya download, Choken?

And I've actually been listening to Load a whole lot lately...and I think it's a fucking great ROCK album. Honestly, if it were released by anybody OTHER than Metallica (like, say some new band came along and released it), it would be considered a masterpiece. But due to Metallica's First 4, it's always going to be considered shit.

I wouldn't be caught dead at this concert. I like metal, not pop-rock or rap-rock. Metallica is no longer metal, and Linkin' Park/Limp Bizkit are just utter CRAP.

I hope Fred Durst comes out there and meanders around the stage for the ENTIRE set.

I have to agree.

I love Load, but coming from Metallica it loses the impact since it should have been something else.

But as stand alone albums Load and Reload are good albums.......just not for Metallica.

They were HORRIBLE when I saw them live. They just kept playing...and playing...and playing, until I was trying to slit my wrists with my keys.

the 'tones?

they were great when ive seen them

a little rough when they opened for pantera / Zombie but thats when they were starting

hey to each his own though

i was kinda hoping they might fill that 5th slot with an older/heavier band (just as a nod to the old school), but i like the deftones so i guess that makes up for it for me

So the new album's called 'St. Anger'?

Yes, Load is a kick ass album. But, ReLoad sucks. Fuel was cool. So was The Unforgiven II and my favourite from that album: Low Man's Lyric but it doesn't compare to Load: Ain't My Bitch, Until It Sleeps, King Nothing, Hero Of The Day, BLEEDING ME, The Outlaw Torn.

Even as a hardcore 'tallica fan, I think this tour's gonna suck. I just hope they don't bring LB & LP with them to Reading or Leeds when they come to the UK!

Oh god, the deftones. Terrible. Just cos they're better than incubus and all their clones people keep telling me they are amazing. In fact, they are the number one band people say when I say 'What DO you like?' after they are in a stunned shock when I mention AWK. I find that very, very funny.

If that were to happen, people would riot.

I am seriously expecting Mudvayne, Deftones, and Linkin Park to be boo'd off the stage at Boston.

ESPECIALLY considering that Massachusetts is in the beginning of a metal surge (as far as local acts). I mean...The Red Chord, Beyond The Embrace, All That Remains, Beyond The Sixth Seal...and SHADOWS FALL...

Deftones weren't all THAT bad at war of the gargantuas, but that's before they really polished their sound, and they didn't play long. The other time I saw them...hoo boy. Look out below.

I accidently downloaded 2 demos of Metallica's Serenade of Fire, and it appears I've got 2 different songs? Which one's the real deal?

One starts out with an acoustic bit, similar to 'To Live is To Die' before going on to the distorted guitar...

Then there's just the distorted version...and since the sound quality on both are poor, I can't make out whether they're the same songs, with no vocals.

There's two "Serenade Of Fire" tunes. One is "Serenade Of Fire" and the other is "Serenade Of Fire II." "Serenade Of Fire" starts off acoustically.

Riots? In Mass...HAHAHAAHA.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret...

There are ALOT more people that are into LP/LB/Metallica/Deftones/Mudvayne than there are people that are against those bands. Just because the 20 people that actually post in this folder think those bands(except pre-Black Album Metallica) suck ass, doesnt mean everyone else does.

Granted 75% of those bands' fans are sheep that listen to anything mainstream and like it because everyone else does but it's stilla fact regardless. I myself happen to really look forward to seeing ALL the bands in that lineup, and the fact that every show will sell out easily backs my point up.

cartman, ever been to a local metal show? And I mean METAL show? The mere MENTION of any of the bands on this tour, save Metallica, is enough to get one into shit.

And hey, guess what metal scene I'm talking about? The Massachusetts scene. Guess what scene still loves Metallica? The Massachusetts scene.

It's really not too much of a stretch to imagine people boo'ing pieces of shit like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and Mudvayne at a METALLICA show, is it?

I never picture Heavy Metal being HUGE in New England...I always viewed New England as a Quaint Quiet area...and loved Bob Seger.

Metal seems more adept for Philly/Chicago and Cincy...

yet those towns are all about Rap and Light Rock...

Bizzare.

Choken, go to Cambridge sometime. Tons of hardcore punk kids and metalheads.

Our metal scene hasn't really been alive until the last couple of years.

cartman, it really is PAINFULLY obvious you've never been to a local metal show...or even a local hardcore show...

You are SO right. There are a couple reasons for this.

#1 I dont particularly like Hardcore/Metal music. I tend to listen to music that I can actually understand what the singer is saying as opposed to what a screamer is saying. This might sound like blasphemy to some here, but I am one who thinks that bands like Cradle of Filth, Shadows Fall, and most other bands like those that have lead screamers instead of real vocalists, would sound so much better TO ME with a regular singer and understandable lyrics.

#2 I dont like concerts at all. I went to Locobazooka back in september as you may remember me talking about and I just didnt have a very good time. Too many people smokin weed, which made me sick to my stomach, and getting pummeled in a crowd is not my idea of a good time.

Funny you mention Shadows Fall in the group of those bands with "screamers instead of real vocalists," because I remember you saying that The Art Of Balance was a great album. What's equally funny is that Brian Fair's scream is very audible, and every word can be understood. Ditto for Dani Filth of Cradle Of Filth (most of the time people don't know what he's saying when he's saying a big word, because they don't know the word).

You were at Locobazooka as well? I'm sorry, then. That is NOT what most shows are like at all. It was an outdoor festival, not a local show. Go to a show where you can sit down and just enjoy the music.

I can't stand Screamer Rock...You can realease fury all you want but I don't give a motherfuck about it unless I understand the fucking words if any that are coming out of your mouth...

I dunno what Disturbed, Metallica (Pre-Black of course), Shadows Fall are but I perfer that stuff...cause they can easily play Hard Rock music but also make hella sense.

The Deftones are easily the most talented band on the whole thing but the live show totally depends on how plowed Chino is. If he's drunk, it's gonna suck and suck HARD, if he's sober/just kinda tipsy, all is well.

Why does everyone get all bent out of shape about having trouble understanding the lyrics? Christ, I can pick out Mortician's lyrics as if I were just sitting down talking to my mom.

Pay attention, it helps.

The Shadows Fall album I bought IS good, but only because the music(minus screaming) is incredible. I do pay attention, I just dont like it. That is just MY personal preference. It's not BAD music, it's just not the kind of music I like.

I like Shadows Fall, and I like Mushroomhead ALOT, but that type of music just usually doesnt appeal to me at all.

Also, pertaining to concerts and stuff, I could never really go and be comfortable no matter what kind of concert it is. I have this thing where I really dont like being in large crowds of people. It might sound stupid but I cant even go to the Mall during christmas season because there's just too many people.

So you're a social claustrophobic? It's cool, it's cool.

Deftones? Most talented on the bill? HAHAHAHAHA...

Sorry, but every Metallica album screams genius compared to ANY Deftones album.

Yea, it's really not THAT bad..but sometimes I just cant handle it. For instance Locobazooka, I just completely broke down. I stuck it out for my girl but it was hard as hell.
