The 2003 NHL All-Star Game

Recommended Posts

Well the skills competition was on yesterday and they are going back to the East VS West format rather than the crappy North America VS The World.

Anyone watched the skills comp. or young guns game yesterday or plan on watching the All-Star game today?

Watched both yesterday. Pretty good Young Stars game, and the skills comp was bland, I thought, but overall it was an enjoyable few hours before Velocity.

I'm definetly watching the All-Star game, but I'll get bored around the 2nd period, when the score is 23-19 and probably turn it off. :P

There's no Leafs in the game this year to hold my attention (both Belfour and Sundin declined due to injury), but I'll probably watch anyway.

There are worse ways to kill an afternoon.

They should've put Ilya Kovulchuk in the game... It was pretty funny how he wouldn't pass or get off the ice in last year's YoungStars game.

That was pretty damned entertaining, and it may be enough to get me to change my mind regarding shootouts.

That was one of the best hockey games I've seen in a while. Lalime and Turco were excellent in net in the third period.

Wow! That was one of the most entertaining hockey games I've ever seen. Not just All-Star games, but just a regular game. I think they probably should just add the shootout for the regular season.

And yeah, Dany Heatley was awesome!

I like having a shootout for a meaningless all-star game, but I'd hate to see it in the regualar season. It be like deciding a basketball game with a 3-pt contest. With 82 games in the regular season, it's not the end of the world to have a few ties.

I remember Heatley when he played at Wisconsin.

No shootouts in the regular season and especially not the playoffs. It seemed like they wanted to get the shootout over has fast as possible.

Mario Lemieux called Marian Gaborik one of the best 5 players in the league. That's huge praise, and overall talent he might be right.
