Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 3, 2003 And speaking of killer brawls like I mentioned earlier, one that I haven't seen enough times to totally get into, but have enjoyed thoroughly every time I've seen it, is the Liger/Sammy match from BOSJ 92(or is it 93?) Intensity to spare, and it really stands out as unique from most of the other juniors material I've seen.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2003 If we're going to go the brawl route, you can't beat the innovativeness of Cactus / Vader Texas Death Match at Havoc 93. To this day, that is one of the best American hardcore matches I've ever seen.
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted February 3, 2003 Jumbo vs. Funk from '76 had "best match to happen at the time" written all over it and clocks in around 27 minutes. Of the ones I'm sure of, 12/6/96 and Hokuto/Kandori are right at the 30-minute mark. I forget which is longer.
Guest Tim Cooke Report post Posted February 3, 2003 Hokuto/Kandori is like 31 and Misawa/Akiyama v Kawada/Taue is like 32 and some change. Tim
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted February 3, 2003 And yeah, let's be realistic rock/bossman was a DUD, because if that's ***** then so is all those bits where 5 people win the HC title. Crash has had about 40 ***** matches% Crash > Flair
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted February 4, 2003 Crash Holly is the Nature Boy of hardcore wrestling. What is he, a 20-Time Hardcore Champion?
Guest wolverine Report post Posted February 4, 2003 While the matches I listed previously were all within a 1/2* of that mark, the actual shortest ***** match I've seen would be the 12/3/93 Misawa/Kobashi vs. Kawada/Taue at about 22 minutes. This also happens to be my favorite pro wrestling match of all-time, thanks to the greatest bit of selling I've ever seen in my life by Kawada.
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted February 4, 2003 Ironically, 12/6/96 is exactly 1 minute longer than Hokuto/Kandori.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted February 4, 2003 Another point about the 'epic' quality, I think Flair/Steamboat (the one on the hhh dvd) is as highly rated as it is largely because of that. Sure, it's a great match, but time hasn't been *that* kind to it.
