Guest notJames Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 We're counting down to No Way Out tonight (8/7 CT on UPN) on SmackDown! Last week, Vince McMahon announced that Hollywood Hulk Hogan -- who returned two weeks ago -- would take on The Rock at No Way Out, which is Sunday, Feb. 23 in Montreal, Quebec. This week, Hogan will be on SmackDown! live and in person! Plus, you'll see The Rock via satellite from Hollywood. What will they have to say about their WrestleMania X8 rematch? One week after qualifying to be No. 1 contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship, Team Angle (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) gets its shot tonight, battling the current titleholders, Los Guerreros. Plus, in a rematch of their unforgettable match at Royal Rumble, Chris Benoit faces Kurt Angle. There will also be a special sit-down interview with the Crippler! The Big Show last week delivered the Undertaker a "singing telegram" -- apparently to apologize to the Dead Man for putting him out of commission for three months. But it only seemed to anger the Undertaker more. Rumor has it, the Big Show has another present for the American Badass. Will the Dead Man forgive and forget? There are also several dynamic singles matches on tap this week: Rey Mysterio takes on Jamie Noble, accompanied by his girlfriend, Nidia; Rikishi battles Nunzio; A-Train faces Shannon Moore; and, one week after his brutal post-match attack on Billy Kidman, Matt Hardy will go one on one with the Cruiserweight Champion in a non-title match. All this and more this week on SmackDown! Don't miss it when it kicks off at 8 p.m./7 CT on UPN! NOTE: SmackDown! will not be seen this week at its normal time on TVW in Madison, Wisc. Instead, catch it beginning at 10 p.m. (time approximate, after basketball).
Guest BifEverchad Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Wow....SmackDown! isn't on for like, 9 hours and it gets a One and Only Thread. Anyways, I'll drop in later I'm sure, but for now I'm looking forward to the Team Angle/Los Guerreros Tag Team Titles match. Note: This week was the first week I never read the spoilers I like months!
Guest notJames Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 I usually never read the spoilers, but I wanted to get the ball rolling with the OAO thread, so there you go... I suffer so that others may benefit. And besides, I've seen OAO RAW threads start up the day before, so this is nothing new. Right?
Guest MaxPower27 Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Isn't tonight Rey Misterio v. Jamie Noble? That match is going to be above average. Not to mention Team Angle v. Los Guerreros, that's the sole reason that I'm tuning in tonight. Kurt v. Benoit will be good, but after that Rumble match, it's going to be diffiult to top it.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Too bad they (most likely) won't be using the Rey/Knoble match to jump-start a feud between the 2. Give those 2 guys 20 minutes at WM, and... ::drools::
Guest MaxPower27 Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 I wish Noble was given more of a chance now. He could be right up there with Mattitude as one of the more unde guys on the roster today.
Yuna_Firerose Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 What's with the depush of Knoble? After his feud with Hurricane, he was on quite a few Velocity's, if I remember correctly. Then he had that thing with Tajiri....and now....umm... And it's quite interesting that noone complains about ReyRey being the opener, as he usually is..
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Hell, Knoble is one of the best all-around workers in the fed today, but all Steph is concerned about is the size of Nidia's ass. The whole "CW Title is our ticket to the good life" storyline was *so* awesome, and one of the best characters in the fed at the time, one they could have very easily transitioned into the "every-man face" role.
Guest notJames Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 You mean you don't know about Steph's issues with Nidia's "weight problem"? Apparently, Vince's little heifer thinks Nidia is too fat to be a diva, so Noble got a bit de-pushed as a result. Pot, kettle, black... you fill in the blanks. And Spiffy's right on the mark. Noble's glorification of the CW belt gave it a credibility it never had. I don't see Kidman maintaining that kind of standard.
Yuna_Firerose Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Why don't they let Kidman continue with his mocking of others? His mocking of Good Ol' Al (funny how he became a smark fave) and Shanny were kinda funny...
Guest notJames Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Because he can only mock those with less charisma/personality/pulse than him. Al Wilson = 0 Shannon Moore = 0 Kidman = 0.01
Yuna_Firerose Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 So, Christian has 0 charisma too?
Guest DerangedHermit Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 So, Christian has 0 charisma too? Hell no. He has a lot of charisma (about 8 on a 1-10 scale). Although, on the other hand, Edge has gotten worse with his interviews since splitting with him. To sum it up, Christian = r0x0r$, Edge = sux0r$, Kidman = whitey dork, Lance Storm = Mr. Charisma, Al Wilson = 24-Inch Python, and Shannon Moore = little bitch.
Yuna_Firerose Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Shannon Moore = little bitch. No argument here But what I meant by Christian was that on a Jakked, he faced Kidman. For reference sake, it was the same show that Christian dressed up in Torrie's purple geisha outfit (and looked DAYUM fine too) and was asking Tajiri for adivce on the match. "Then after the match, we can go and get some sushi!" And...Christian called himself baka. (And that segment officially started my Tape 5) Anyway, during the match Kidman did a very funny impersonation of Christian's tantrum routine. Edge = sux0r$, Kidman = whitey dork, Lance Storm = Mr. Charisma How did Edge and Storm get into this argument?
Guest DerangedHermit Posted February 6, 2003 Report Posted February 6, 2003 Edge = sux0r$, Kidman = whitey dork, Lance Storm = Mr. Charisma How did Edge and Storm get into this argument? People that are lacking (or losing, in the case of Edge) charisma.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Rock's sure being an ass this week. I say that heel turn is definitely on.
Guest AndrewTS Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Rock's sure being an ass this week. I say that heel turn is definitely on. Plus his first match back will be in Canada--remember Toronto, WM X-8, last year?
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Did they really need a crane for that box?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Nice jump into the tornado DDT by Noble. Well this match should be an eye opener for the crowd but the heat can seems to be closed. Well, the 619 attempt woke em up.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Whoa that's the move Ultimo Dragon beat Rey with at WW3 '96.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Nice booing for the Rock. And what the hell happened to his hair? His head's all nice and shiny.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Somebody got a haircut! Yeah it's old news, but he can't say that to Angle anymore.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 OK what is the point of this promo? Establish him as a Hollywood prima donna? It's an awfully half-hearted heel promo.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 He should completely shave his hair......that peach fuzz doesn't look good.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 I thought he did that interview while Hogan was in the ring? I must have read the spoilers wrong.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Later LaParka...and oh boy...Rikish-Money...where's Samu and Afa when you need them?
Guest tpww7 Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Can't Rikishi go to Velocity and stay there.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Poor Nunzio.......why is he wrestling Rikishitty?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Oh goody. Fat man vs. cruiserweight. I don't even need the spoilers to know who wins this one. *listens to the crickets chirping in the OAO thread*
