Who should've been Horsemen #4 instead of Mongo?

Recommended Posts

Tell me, who do you guys think should've been the 4th Horsemen in 1996 instead of Mongo after Pillman left and went to the WWF?

My pick would've been DDP!

Yeah...But Melenko eventully became Horsemen...

DDP would not have worked since he would've outflashed Flair...

To be honest there aren't really any good options, outside of Malenko which they wound up doing anyway.

I say you either bring in one of the established guys like Luger or Sting who were ex-Horsemen to beef up the opposition to the NWO or you try to elevate a younger guy just coming in like Chavo Jr., Disco Inferno or Chris Jericho. Put a guy like that in a tag team with Arn and see if he can get over before busting him out solo on the TV title level.

I gotta agree with converge241 on this.

Malenko or Jarrett would have been great for the part instead of the fucking awful Mongo.

Why the hell did they let his wrestle?

And them keep him around for so long?

By the way, what ever happened to Mongo anyway?

The thing with the baseball game was that he was going to sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame during the seventh inning of a Cubs game. He asked permission to say "Mongo has returned" which they allowed, but then he also said something about him taking out the umpire who had made a questionable call against the Cubs in the previous inning. McMichael stated that the fans were pretty rowdy over the call and he said that to keep anyone from doing anything, just let him handle it. Currently, I think he's living Texas. He is eligible for the Hall of Fame now, but hasn't been able to drum up much support.

At the time (late '98/early '99) a good pick to fill Mongo's void and be the 4th Horsemen would have been Wrath.

The group needed a power house and Wrath could have used the cred from the Horsemen after having done a job to Nash on a Nitro, which sent Wrath's career on a downward spiral until he hooked up with Adams to form Kronic (which was less than stellar).
