Hey yo, people.

Fuck, I'm a moron sometimes. Read too fast. This is a really interesting stip, and I've never seen it done before. Go TNT!

Shenanigans during the Handicap match, but Frost and Tom pull out the victory despite each other.

LDP and WC get the win despite an AWOL Johnny. Sorry, guys, I let you down :-(. Back to the jobber section I go...

CIA wins via count out, and it doesn't look like Stryke showed here.

JD takes one of the best characters ever out of usage permenantly.*Salutes* Later, Z. We'll miss you.

MAK WINS! MAK WINS! MAK WINS!

And finally, ELM pulls a victory over Perfect Bo. Damn, he's on one hell of a singles streak.

it was late, and I was semi-occupied, but let me just say that Mak's match was really, really, really, really ... good.

Zuh? How the hell did we win that?

Well, as previously mentioned, Johnny was AWOL, so major props to Wildchild who wrote most of this match, and under last-minute pressure as well. I see now why we bumped you. ;)

Congrats to all the winners, and Mak especially for pulling out a US title victory.

The fellow who doesn't want to read Robinson Crusoe any longer than he absolutely has to checks in with some show thoughts...

I came away from this show with an overall sense of disappointment. The six-man was really fun, Mak's match was the MOTN (congrats, champ!), and Mag's match showed promise of some much-needed character development with its heelish finish. Yet the downsides really left me a bit sad.

I guess most of it comes from seeing JD beat the piss out of Z, and probably get rid of the Alex Zenon character for good. I don't think anyone who's ever come around with a totally new character has ever really lasted or been able to get back on the horse, but I wish you luck, if this is in fact the last we see of Alex.

I was also really disheartened by the CIA/Stryke match, though I applaud CIA for kicking something together to avoid the double no-show. These two have hugeanomic potential, and I really want to see you guys buckle down and find time to write. Hopefully Stryke's big match against TNT and CIA's long-awaited tag title shot will really get these slick mothas moving on the next show.

So, some very nice work, a good wrap-up/point-in-the-direction-of-the-next-month-or-two show, with a couple downsides. Not bad at all, actually. Huzzah.

Um, it was expected that I would lose...My girl at the last minute had some major cramps and was going to the hospital...now, I chose to be with my baby mother, she's a lot more important.

I came back around 4 eastern time and needed more time...I asked for an extension but the ending of mine was rushed..I did tried my best to make it as good as possible, but it was still obviously rushed.

I am not saying that I would have one if situations wouldnt have come up, but I probably would of have a better chance.

Although, I still showed, that's just the way I am.

Hopefully I will get another shot on ELM in the near future and hope to everything that I love that nothing comes up.

Thank you for everything

Bo

I make with teh comments so I will actually read the show... whatever I have to do to get doing that stuff.

TNT TALKS

I didn't really dig the whole flashbacks to ClusterFuck... mostly because I want to forget that I'm going to get punished next show (Oh boy ... ... ...) and because I'm here for the new stuff anyway... a simple recap of TNT getting the pin would have been more effective and less dull. Anyway, TNT goes all "I'm better than the rest of ELM's challengers because I'm determined to prove I'm no joke" and thats cool. I also like the two strait falls match stipulation as it will lead to some interesting drama although its sure to go looooooooooooong. Good thing its a PPV match =-) Now you and ELM need to works the angle so I can cheer.

The Megapowers EXPLODE

Frost and Tom actually work against Xero which seems oh so wrong... I think they should have been WAY more pissed off after Clusterfuck and killed the jobber dead in about 1000 words. Instead they play the "tap tap tap" game which is weird.... cause this is just Xero and to be all excited over beating him is kind of a silly thing for these guys to be "competing" over. I think the weird booking caused it though.

Team Dangerous Wild Dogs vs. Team The Magnificent Seven Lower Three

Kudos for WC and LDP carrying Dangerous to a watchable affair... where did Johnny go? And why does poor Wildchild get stuck with the no shower again this week (other than we need the tag teams)? I can so see WC's writing style anymore (after about a billion matches) and I still think he needs to move away from odd overly complicated spots like the double hiptoss to powerbomb to double springboard clothesline. I wasn't really thrilled with the transitions in this match too much as basically Johnny decided to kick Ejiro and that was enough to make the tag. And then the match ends with the clogger. I think the word limit hampered these matches ... I know I had that problem.

CIA vs. Styke

Count out win for CIA... whoo. Nothing is really interesting in this thing so I have very little to say.

Zenon gets pummeled

Can't we just have someone leave without having them get nearly crippled in the process :) We're like XPW without the thumbs getting cut off and the porn stars. Anyway, I would have liked it more if someone with more of a history with Zenon would have been the one to put him out (if Jay and Zenon have a history... I don't know about it and they didn't bring it up). Anyway, Zenon got cut off by Silent leaving so he's in limbo land.

Franchise vs. Deathwish

The start off going to the mat and thats always good in a Danny match before Mak goes to the ankle and the world rejoices. But that doesn't last long before Danny just kicks the living dog piss out of Mak and giant swings him into the ringpost... ow. Transitions seem odd again as Mak just comes back after escaping the cross armbreaker, which doesn't feel right to me... but I think I understand in the context of this match. The fight over the Germans was great as well as Danny going for multipule covers... I need to have that actually work in one of my matches one of these days. Anyway they battle over the kicks and the elbows and I love the All Japan feel of this thing until Mak turns the fujiawara into the cradle for the three! WOOT!

ELM vs. Bo Duke

ELM breaks out the chain wrestling to start and it rocks before power overcomes speed and Bo hits the German and gets two. And then my mind wanders... Lord, now I know how it feels to read my matches with the long paragraphs. And ELM is like three times the writer I am! Damn it! I need to work on that. Anyway, ELM is a match writing machine and we should all hug him.

That be all.

I didn't see the Handicap match as Flesher and Frost making a big deal; it came across to me more like them playing a game of "Can You Top This?" with Xero as the victim.

Sorry my writing style has become boring to you; perhaps being in the SWF will give our characters some much-needed time apart. As far as your distaste for my "complicated" spots, I don't see how you can consider it overly complicated when it's actually been done. Believe it or not, I didn't make that spot up; I stole it from a Kai En Tai match. I just went with the double clothesline instead of the straight Triple Powerbomb because I didn't want to seem overly derivative.

I have to take issue with your assessment of my character, though: WC is an acrobat, and acrobatic highspots are his style; they're supposed to look complicated. My main inspiration in writing Wildchild is to write a character that does breathtaking things that nobody else would (or could) do. Moves that take advantage of the balance and agility that he developed as a high wire act in the circus. Sure I can write a character that dazzles you with his technical prowess, or his mastery of submission moves, or his hardcore brutality, or his just plain thuggery, but doesn't the SWF already have two dozen or so characters like that?

I don't desire to write him as a wrestler; he's a spot machine by my choice. I undertook WC as kind of a writing exercise; I've got three or four characters in my head that I would much rather use if I were going to write someone who actually wrestles. In fact, I'd go back to the SJL and start over with an all-new character before I'd change WC's style.

Hold on there WC, I wasn't saying that I find your character boring. I heart Wildchild like a brother. I was just saying that its really easy for me to pick out your writing style out of a line up anymore after facing you so many times. I'm not trying to slam you by any means in that regard ... or really in any regard. I really am trying to make constructive points here, and I don't say anything in order to make people feel bad about themselves or anything of the kind. I just read the matches and write down what I think.

I am also well aware of the double hiptoss into a powerbomb spot and find no fault with that. I don't have an issue with the double springboard clothesline either. I just think that using them both together is a bit wonky. It seems to me as though that whole process would take say... ten seconds at least to do. Now, thats about five seconds of LDP holding Fugue up in that position and if he's strong enough to hold Fugue up there that long... why bother with the hiptoss set up? That's what I was thinking when I saw that spot anyway.

Wildchild is totally your character and I would never say that you should write him to be Perfect Bo Jr. (just to pick a name) but there are just times when I find him to be almost too unbelievable as he does some things and it knocks me out of my suspension of disbelief as I have to stop and mentally picture the spot a couple of times. That's not me saying that your writing or your character sucks... thats me making a comment that I thought might be helpful. I don't want anyone to change what they are doing to suit me, thats not what this is about.

I thought so too. Both teams managed to do very well with the space they had, but it would have benefitted from a higher limit, I think.

And I likes teh TNT/ELM stip.

Well, when you put it that way, I can sort of see where you're coming from, even though I respectfully disagree. I've always felt that if there isn't at least one thing in each match that could be called "unbelieveable," then I'm not doing it right.

Remember, few people thought a hurricanrana could be done until somebody actually did it...

Don't take this as a diss to Mak's match, but I strongly disagree with the All Japan feel. It felt more like a Smackdown match, specifically the work of Benoit/Angle. The amateur mat work to start, constant counters, lack of long term selling, quick pace, and the out of nowhere counter finish. Pretty much the exact opposite of most All Japan matches.

I'm currently working on a review of the six man tag, for the website. Should get it to Thugg sometime later in the week.

I'd like to say first of all... I was looking for someone else beside Z, but he wanted his character out. I like to think that while I did destroy him, it is something very easy for him to come back from. Seriously, it's broken ribs and jaw, hell, he could work a match! So it's up to Z here what he would like to do. ;)

I wish I could have done it with someone else instead, but meh.

Matches I read were Danny/Mak and Perfect Bo/Magnifico

Danny/Mak... first someone compared it to All Japan... I agree with Danny in saying that is incorrect, I also think it's incorrect to call it a Benoit/Angle match. While their psychology was clearly displayed, the match that Mak wrote was a perfect mid level match. It had the right amount of time to keep you interested, and to both start up and cool down a feud. Allowed Danny to stay over while Mak gets a clean win. He also stuck with the arm until the end, foreshadowing earlier and let it factor into the finish. This also lets Danny go onto a bigger thing, seeing as TNT gave him a big rub by letting him be one of the last three in the Fuck.

As for Bo/Magnifico... This match seemed fairly standard to me, like the last one, perfect length to be both entertaining and have some moderate build up. Again he was able to put Bo over as an extremely dangerous powerhouse, while show the world why he is the SWF champ.

Sometimes less is more, folks. This is the show right after Clusterfuck, no match needed to be overly spectacular with extreme uses of psychology. I think we should have been able to add some new feuds though, because a lot of stuff was settled at Clusterfuck, so new stuff needs to be displayed by next Storm.

I <3 Mak's match

Shame to see Danny lose his US Title, but this only gives him a chance to go up and snatch that ICTV.

I didn't really call it a Benoit/Angle match, I said it felt like a Smackdown match with a strong Benoit/Angle influence or something like that. The Benoit/Angle influence is as evident as the early 90s All Japan influence in my matches. Aside from the reasons I mentioned earlier, one needs to look no further than the Ankle Lock to Fugiwara Armbar spots, and the Benoit/Hoss story that popped up at the end.

The Fujiwara to Ankle lock was a obvious Smackdown influence that fit the situation, but the cradle wasn't. Our team has recently done workouts with our Universities Wrestling team and I've been trying to get more of an amateur feel to my matches, thus the cradle, neck bridges, etc. I've watched a few matches and taken a few of the more simple to explain maneuvers and attempted to work them into my writing. As I get more adept at the style and talk with more of the wrestlers, I'd like to think that my mat work will improve. Danny, I do think it had some brutal, beat on the shoulder till it dies spots, which are All Japan in nature, like the giant swing into the post, and multi knee drops. If I didn't get that across, which is what I was attempting to work on, along with the mid range selling of a match that time wise should have went about 12 to 17 mins, I'd appreciate any help on where it fell apart.
