--> Anyone else think Edge needs the trenchcoat full time? He looks so much cooler with the trenchcoat than that goofy red shirt.

--> Wrestling tonight was on par with WWF shows, which is good, because that means it isn't getting worse.

--> Take a good look at Hall, everyone. THAT IS HOW YOU SELL THE STUNNER. He's just taken The Rock's place at the top of the "Creative Sells" list.

--> Wow... when Cole and King shilled 'Mania by showing all the announced matches, it looked like a real Pay Per View... that's odd...

--> Did anyone catch the sign that said "3 out of 5" something something? I missed the rest - it was front row ringside, on the announcer's right.

--> The final promo tonight was great. Not the greatest, but great. It started out a little weak, with Trips practically noselling it, but it was explained well enough. Jericho and The Great Wide Open managed to humble him, which no one does, and they actually stayed on the subject of the World Title and Tripsie's career...

... and then they mentioned Lucy.

I don't care if it was a brief mention, it brought the promo down. But omitting that one sentence, that shows that the writers DO know how to build a title match. If only they figured it out sooner. We now know the writers could have been doing this all along, but they chose not to. If they were physically incapable of pulling off such a promo, then I would (mildly) understand, but knowing now that they could have done it and chose instead, for whatever reason, to hurt a puppy... that's just insulting.

--> As for the NWO - well, we've all pretty much figured out it's a bust, but the Rock/Hogan and Austin/Hall promos tonight, and the past few weeks, were enough to keep me interested. Not enough to make me want to order it, but enough for me to care about the results.

--> If the writers decide that Maven stays the face in this angle with Al, I will eat a live goat. (Fear the Mavekick!)

Assessment: Finally, a buildup show that... well, builds up. Before tonight, Wrestlemania was just a PPV that I'd wait to have recapped on Raw. It's now been promoted to PPV I'll halfassedly try to find live reports for on Sunday night. Kudos.

Maybe we'll get the Hardcore Battle Royal 2002, with Maven playing the role of Crash and about 15 shitty wrestlers doing .5 Muta bladejobs.  (IIRC, Joey Abs or Pete Gas did a pretty good bladejob at WM 2000)

Any more?

Don't worry, this will be the only bump.

I didn't catch the 3 out of 5 sign but did anyone see the cool "hBk" nWo style sign that was also several rows behind Cole & Lawler?
