FWA NEW FRONTIERS

February 8th , 2003

Walthamstow Assembly Hall, London E17

700 sell out

1. Jane Childs introduced the roster of the FWA which included some familiar faces from the past four years. Former British Heavyweight Champion and film and TV star Pat Roach was introduced as the new FWA Director of Operations. After going through the new rules for the benefit of the audience Mr Roach introduced his two Assistant Directors... Justin Richards and Dino Scarlo.

2. In the first match Raj Ghosh defeated Chris Justice.

3. The Duke of Danger (with new maid Buttercup) put up £10,000 to prove he was the best British rookie in a 4-corners match against Hade Vansen, James Tighe and Simmons... except new Assistant Director Justin Richards decided to change that by removing Simmons and replacing him with the masked J-X (the man who kidnapped the Duke's first maid Daisy at Seasons Beatings). Simmons brought the mysterious Birchill to ringside who destroyed all three of Duke's competitors for apparently the £10,000 cheque, however Birchill decided Duke deserved a beating as well. J-X took the advantage and pinned the Duke for the win. The Duke became the first man in the FWA to be issued a Yellow Card by the referee.

4. In the first XPW European title tournament quarter final referee Scott Conway red carded both Zebra Kid and Robbie Brookside following a 20 count out after brawling into the audience and getting physical against the referee. This would mean the winner of the following match would be going to Crunch on March 16th into the XPW European title finals.

5. In the second XPW European title tournament quarter final Wonderkid Jonny Storm beat XPW's Juventud Guerrera following a frenetic past paced contest which many fans came out saying was their match of the night. Jonny Storm now keenly awaits who XPW will annnounce on Monday as being in the third and fourth quarter final due to take place next Friday.

6. Assistant Director Richards banned members of the Family from ringside to leave it one on one between Righteous Paul Travell and Nikita for their third battle. Ian Da Siple however took it upon himself to interfere anyway towards the end throwing a fireball - however this backfired on him as Nikita used the distraction to roll up Travell for the pin.

7. Dean Ayass and the Old School came out. A stipulation had been made earlier that Ayass' career and the Old School faction as a stable were at stake tonight if the Old School failed to beat tag champions Ulf Herman and Alex Shane. For a few moments Ayass was interrupted by the music of someone known as The Machine, could this really be referring to former shootfigher Ian The Machine Freeman? The match was underway fought under hardcore no DQ rules. Weapons, brawling to the outside, One Night Stand through a table and the tag champions were victorious.

8. However the tag champions victory celebrations were cut short by the arrival of two men who declared their hatred of Alex Shane and the FWA... Greg The Truth Lambert and Jon Farrer, renowned wrestling journalists. They re-introduced Shane and Herman to the Pitbulls, perhaps to remind them the Pitbulls wanted their tag titles back.

9. The New Breed returned to declare they were back and were issuing an open challenge to any team for March 16th at Crunch at the Broxbourne Civic Hall.

10. In the main event, introduced by Adam South, Doug Williams defeated Jerry Lynn in a thirty minute Iron Man bout to finally win the number one contendership to Christopher Daniels FWA Heavyweight title. The match was fast paced from the get go and with the piledriver ban being lifted Lynn scored two falls from a single devastating cradle piledriver that had put him in the lead. Williams caught up and eventually took the lead leaving Lynn to play catch up however time was not on Lynn's side and the thirty minutes were up ending with Williams ahead 3-2.

It's also been announced that Doug Williams will be facing Christopher Daniels for the FWA Title at the Ring Of Honor show on March 22nd.

They've also announced Raven vs C M Punk for March 15th.

Cheers,

I was at the show. And while it wasn't the best FWA show ive seen, i thought it was good none the less.

The Tag match was good, but the main event was marred by a what seemed to be a mix up at the end. They should have stuck with Jane on the mic :D

Also, I might be in the minority here, but I thought the John Farrer & Greg Lambert team up was excellent. Who saw that coming :D And Lambert was actually quite good on the mic.

I was also there....Nice show..

The Zebra Kid match was a bag of shit.

The Juvi/Jonny was a good match, Jonny content on dying for Juvi took it all, About 3 different Juvi Driver variations and even a Burning Hammer.

I cannot wait to see Daniels vs Williams.

Doug is such a cool person and a amazin talent.

I will post my pictures tomorrow.

and also

FWA - WHERE WOMEN NO SELL FIREBALLS :bonk:

The main event was the only really good match to me. I wasn't overly impressed by Storm vs Juvi. I'm certainly no Zebra Kid fan either.

Shame the crowd were turning against Chris Justice - I think he's hilarious.

Nikita: dodgy match, great body.

I thought the main event was god, but the strange finish just ruined it a little for me. I was left thinking .. what just happened? And I dont think I was the only one.

Zebra Vs Brookside wasnt that good at all, Robbie Brookside just doesnt impress me at all.

I thought Storm/Juvi was better than I thought it was going to be. But it wasnt outstanding. Still fun to watch though. If Psicosis comes through the XPW side of the tournament, then Storm/Psicosis should be good.

It may just be me, but Nikita does impress me as a wrestler... honestly. What!? ... im not joking :D

She takes huge bumps, and seems to work her arse off. You cant ask much more than that. Its a shame that the fireball spot didnt pull of though.

No, I dotn think it was either. WHat did the fireball look like? I was on the other side of the ring, so i couldnt see it fully.

I was on the other side of the ring too, but it looked dodgy from where I was.
