Top 10 SNL Performers of all time

Recommended Posts

Guest razazteca

Cris Kattan as Mr Peepers, Mango, or I'm So Sexy Antonio Banderas or as the goth fan boy were good characters.

Its not he went the Molly Shannon way of acting of doing the same gimmick over and over again, which was the "I like to Kick.....look at my Camel Toe" in all of her characters, even though the Mary Catherine Gallaher school girl was the best character........SUPERSTAR!

The recurring characters of Kattan did not look the same with different costumes as Molly always did.

Janeane Gabarfolo? NO WAY! She was as unfunny as she was fugly...

I forgot an honorable mention to Sarah Silverman... the 3 episodes she appeared on...

Janeane Garafalo was only on for half a season, complained her whole way through and refused to do tons of skits.

She should easily be in the worst category.

Tracy Morgan?

The guy has been the most useless cast member ever- doing nothing of note in his 8 year run with the exception of Brian Fellow.

I like Garafalo in movies but her short stint on SNL is just forgetable, as she never really had a recurring role, but she was on SNL during the time when the writers were brain dead.

I hate Brian Fellows too but that's the only thing Tracy will be remembered for.

Sadly earlier in his SNL tenure he had some great forgettable stuff like Russel and Tate and Domincian Lou.

Janeane did a ton of harm to SNL and is the poster child for the awfulness of 94-95. She tarnished SNL's image by frequently going to the press and bitching and complaining about a so called boys club. It took Tina Fey's emergence as co-WU anchor to have that boys club erased.

1.) Janeane is not the poster child for why that season was bad. If she was, then why did it still suck after she left.

2.) I'm also a huge fan of Janeane (not her time on SNL though), but I still wouldn't put her in the top ten.

3.) Bob has to have a bigger pet peeve than misspelling Norm MacDonald's name. Like someone saying....

"The best cast member of all time is Rachel Dratch."

"Update just won't be as funny if Jimmy Fallon leaves."

"The Al Gore show was the best one of the season."

1) You make a good point but when people think of the horror that was 94-95- I think 'the hiring of Janeane Garafalo' is at the top of the list.

2)I liked Janeane on NR but not a fan otherwise.

3)I liked the Al Gore show and while the other two are extremely idiotic statements-

Spelling it 'M-c-d-o-n-a-l-d' is at the top of the list

::Smacks Mattdotcom Catherine style for spelling it McDonald::

Don't try and confuse the people with your half-truths and gorilla dusts, Bob!

(BTW, I broke that out in class today)

In no particular order:

Eddie Murphy

Dana Carvey

Mike Myers

Phil Hartman (RIP)

Jan Hooks

Kevin Nealon

Adam Sandler

Jim Belushi

Will Ferrell

Chris Rock

Least Favorite: Tim Meadows, I think this guy set the record for most years being on SNL and making me laugh absolutely zero times. And no I don't find The Ladies Man funny, it was a one joke gag which got beaten into the ground.

I did find the recent episode with Ray Liotta hosting, to be one of the funnier episodes I have seen in a while.

I agree with Deacon but on a lesser extent.

She was good till 1998 and then just lost all semblance of professionalism.

And Janeane Garafalo was jusr awful on SNL. What a cunt bitch

Cunt bitch?

I loved Tim Meadows.

Perspectives and Russell and Tate are the two greatest 'forgotten' recurring characters of all time.

His OJ impression was fantastic and the Ladies Man was a terrific character.

Chris Rock didnt seem to do much on SNL except for Nat X. He, like Julia Louis Dreyfuss, is one of those SNLers who became famous but not cause of SNL.

I like your list HateMonger but I have a problem with Chevy being #1 simply because he was only on for one year.

I never seemed to like Ferrell as much as other people did. He was a great cast member but his last year on SNL was pretty bad as he seemed lost without Adam McKay. I also have found a lot of his classic skits like Angry Boss and Patriotic Shorts to be highly overrated. But he helped SNL get back in the mainstream and get criticial acclaim again so he did have a huge impact on the show.

:::happy to see any mention of Sarah Silverman:::

One of my favorite Tim Meadows skits was one as OJ where he came back to NBC to be an NFL analyst. He was using his telestrator to diagram a play and it ended up saying "I did it".

I also loved how Tim Meadows would say Live from New York etc.

The guy always shouted it and said it with intensity
