My concern is that we're supporting a gang mentality here and that not everyone is getting nailed when they should. Rob baited you, you baited him, flaming ensued. All I'm saying is that all involved should be dealt with and not just one.

I disagree, Rob's beliefs are at the very HEART of the matter. His attitude, his high-handedness, his propensity for presenting unsubstanciated arguments is what got him hated. But his hissy fits got him banned. And they'd get ANYONE banned.

In Rob's case, his ass got banned. In the case of people who bait, depending on their warnings, they should be warned and/or banned accordingly. Not ignored, though, simply because Rob was hated.

We tried logical arguments, gave sources for our opinions all that stuff- and he just acted like a complete ass after a while. After a while it just gets frustrating.

I don't take lightly to it either. This was never about you specifically, but about things on the board as a whole. People have whacked out ideas, we all do sooner or later. Hell it was crazy of me to try and tackle this particular subject. But, I simply want to make sure that civil conversation is still being promoted, especially in CE. I don't even go in there too very often but I don't wish to see some things go ignored that shouldn't.

So when he bans someone from CE, it's pretty serious. I'd trust Tom on this.

I voice my opinions because they are mine. If I worried about what everyone else thought, this surely isn't the subject I'd be vocal about now is it? I trust the intelligent people that are around to figure out what's going on if I drop a given discussion, and the rest I don't really think about. Sure. Rob was wasting bandwidth with some of that crap. That's not my point. My point is simply that simply because everyone dislikes someone isn't reason to forget that others are involved in any given thing. If it's in here I don't care. But in folders like CE, I think we need to have no fear of voicing our opinions on something and the opposition being overlooked when they are wrong simply because someone else is just majorly disliked. That, to me, is wrong. Just as wrong as racial slurs and the like.
