Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted February 14, 2003 I am torn about this. From D-lo's perspective, it obviously sucks. It just doesn't seem fair to cut off a man's source of income, especially when there is a ton of dead weight around him doing less. From the business side, I see why. But at the same time I feel he wasn't going anywhere anyway. I am not going to fool myself into thinking his "down with the Brown" campaign was going to draw, or even entertain me in the slightest. I feel most, if not all the midcard people from the "Atttitude" era who are still in the midcard should also be cut because if they aren't over by now, they probrably aren't going to be over ever. Looking at that List... Holly-Worthless and asshole but Loyal to Vince??? Just because you stay with the guy doesn't mean he was loyal...ECW, WCW or NWATNA never wanted him...so it wasn't like HBK/Undertaker/Billy Gunn loyal. Dreamer-Is very much willing to take an Massive paycut since he lived in ECW hell and he loves the business. Popular with some markets and the boys respect his durability. Good Public Relations and a likely writer down the line. Albert-It might be a possibility in the near future. I'd say after Mania...A-Train could be old news. He'd be HUGE in Japan. Maven-Why? WWE still likes the guy and why would they cut him over the TE2 girls? Makes no sense. Crash-Why Not? His problem is that he's being pushed beyond the level where he belongs so it looks horrible. Trust me, he is of more use to the company than the Crash Holly crowd. The only reason A-Train should be fired is if he costs too much compared to who can replace him (DeMott, just to throw out a name). He's young too and not very injury prone. He shouldn't be beating Misterio, but he shouldn't be on the unemployment line either. Big Show has value too, but he has a horrid contract and has been the victim of bad booking since he came in. The only guy on Smackdown I truly believe to be getting the shaft is Noble, but at this point I would rather see A-Train than most of the lower Velocity workers, and many that make it on RAW (3MW, Test, Jeff Hardy, etc.). I don't feel sorry for them if they do get cut though, they were dishing out injuries like Ahmed Johnson. Honestly I don't see how Jeff Hardy can be kept around much longer. He might pop the 13 yr. old girls, but doesn't draw a dime for the company. His matches suck, as do his promos. Either cut him or give him some extended time off. Crash is useless without the Hardcore division. Test has got to get over with this or he'll get fired too. He has to run out of chances sooner or later right? I think that Tommy Dreamer could become a valuable asset to the roster. If they played videos and did interviews with him like they did with Foley years back he could get pretty over. Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted February 14, 2003 When I heard that D'lo was getting released I was shocked. But once I saw how much he was making, I'm suddenly not so surprised. Me thinks his contract is a relic from when WCW was somewhat of a threat. How else can one explain that kind of money and length of contract? Also might explain why he was kept around for so long despite the Droz incident and getting sent to Puerto Rico and other minor leauge outfits before finally returning for the split. Buying out his contract for a release would have cost Vince a fortune. I can't say that I'm overly disapointed that he's leaving. Perhaps if he was still a face and ridining the momentum he had from his return and mini-feud with Raven on Heat. But this whole racial storyline has left me really soured on D'lo the wrestler.
