The Robfather 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2003 Heidi cleared it all up. She's been the mastermind all along. I loved the way Dan reacted on the jury... throwing his hands over his face in disbelief. I think Matt is going to win, now more than ever.

I think Matt is going to win, now more than ever. Note to future Survivor players: Do NOT, under ANY circumstance, call yourself the genius, mastermind, leader, the one in control, the one who holds the trump card etc at tribal council. So far during the tenure of Jacare: - both Roger and Dave have said that their alliance was solid and that they were in control. Both were subsequently eliminated, Roger via Long Distance Dedication. - Deena said she was in the driver's seat. She got bounced. - Alex said he would be surprised if he was voted out at TC. Surprise!! - Christy said she held the swing vote. WRONG!! - Heidi said she was the "mastermind". Last night she proved that she was a natural blonde, and got the boot. Acme Braintrust was 1 for 3 last night. They guessed right on the boot. Matt was just an animal on the challenges...
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted May 9, 2003 Rob has gotta be shitting himself regarding his alliance with Matt. I mean, we can all herald Rob as a genius and whatnot but he'd be a real dumbass to not try and screw Matt over to get to the finals because Rob has ZERO chance against Matthew if they both go to the finals. moral suasion 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2003 Rob has gotta be shitting himself regarding his alliance with Matt. I mean, we can all herald Rob as a genius and whatnot but he'd be a real dumbass to not try and screw Matt over to get to the finals because Rob has ZERO chance against Matthew if they both go to the finals. Agreed. If Rob can get rid of Matthew, he should. But I think if Rob makes it to the final 2, he has a good chance against any of them. He shouldn't try and strategize who to bring with him. He'll have enough trouble getting to the final 2. I think that Alex, Dave, Christy, Deena, Butch and most likely Matthew would all vote for Rob. I think they all would respect Rob for outplaying them. They all seem to realize that the game is very cut- throat, and I think that they all still like and respect the hell out of Rob. Jenna has quite a few enemies. Butch is a good guy, but no one wants to see him win. He hasn't done anything. Matthew is a good guy now, but he was the wierdo for a while. People also might not vote for him because he already won the car. I really think that Rob has a good shot, assuming he even makes it to the final 2 somehow. Despite being the lying backstabber, he was always the most likeable person in the tribe, I think some of the jury would remember that and vote for him. moral suasion 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2003 Also, Clay, the lazy, racist redneck, who no one liked, got 3 votes last season. This just shows that people will still vote for people that they don't like.
Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Worst. Survivor Winner. Ever. This is even worse than Flo winning TAR. 6-1? Fuck the Amazon. This was a damn good season too until that.
Guest fairtoflair7 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Hey, it was good. Not every vote can be 4-3. On the Survivor series scale, I would say this was in the middle of them all, leaning up. Rob deserved it the most and like Probst said, he probably was one of, if not, the best Survivor player of all time.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted May 12, 2003 That was just fucking retarded. I smell a CBS influence on this one, I can't believe that there was that much of a grudge against Matt that everybody except for Butch voted against him. Probably jealousy........ Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Hey, it was good. Not every vote can be 4-3. It wasn't that it was a blowout that bothered me. It's that it was a blowout in Jenna's favor. Jenna's win severly taints this season. If any of the other 3 had won, this would have been #2 or #3 overall. Now? It's down to 4th. (It takes a whole lot more than a bad ending to make it worse than the overall shittyness that was Thailand and Africa)

Dames Total shocker. The only way I can see how that vote happened was that people thought that Rob carried Matt all the way. I don't think that CBS manipulated the vote, but that was definitely a WTF moment...
Guest Heel In Peril Report post Posted May 12, 2003 (edited) I am thoroughly let down and PISSED OFF with the outcome of this Survivor's finale in it's entirety. It's almost enough to make me not want to watch anymore. Almost. But still. I'll summarize my disdain and disappointment with this biased, sure, but reasonable list of charactersitics of the two finalists, Matt and Jenna ::grinds teeth::. MATT - general acknowledgement by everyone for being the best provider of food for his entire camp from beginning to end - arguably the hardest working laborer in any of his tribes with the possible acception of Roger (although Roger proved to be a total jerk in his case) - considering the mechanics of Survivor, he was one of the kindest and (yes) honest competitors of the lot. I don't care if Alex has a problem with the word; it suited Matt well. (I also want to point out that if Alex's big problem with Matt was, besides Alex's preference to Jenna, being that Matt helped vote Alex out, I remind that it was Alex to first tell Matt to his face that he would vote him out if he had to and thusly the favor was returned.... the punk) - was willing to give up the visit from his mother (which fuck you Rob, I personally don't think your selfish ass would've done the same thing) so that everyone else could. And you could tell that he wasn't merely being strategic, although it was at the time perceived as brilliant especially by me, but because he answered the give or recieve question very quickly. Man! Matt's the man! One fucking vote!?!?!? Ughhh! - answered every last question and comment during the final tribal council with complete sincerity, honesty, no bullshit, and more than anything, brilliantly, as he humbly showed how he was surely the more deserving of the two and, quite possibly, all of them - and finally, although Matt may not have been underhanded, coniving, and socially "brilliant" at placing people in alliances and what have you; as a person, as a physical and phsycological competitor ("psychological" as far as the challenges went as far as having no problem swallowing large live bugs, speedy problem solving, and the like) and as loyal as he was for as long as he could possibly be short of kicking himself out ot the game, he frankly deserved to win because he proved it JENNA (not necessarily pros or cons) - sucks celulite-infested ass, but anyway - got censor-naked - bathed with Heidi and Shawna - considers being beautiful a handicap coming in (yeah right, I'm sure Jeanne had a much better chance coming in on looks alone, huh) - kept true to the alliance she felt most strongly about and only turned on Deena and Rob once they turned on their alliance first (that alliance originally consisting of herself, Rob, Deena, Heidi, and Alex), not bad - was rarely seen or, more importantly, known for helping with ANY of the manual labor such as the shelter (pick a shelter), fishing, cooking, firewood, ANYTHING. She could've at least helped paint the names onto the box at the very end with Matt. God! - showed a number of signs of weekness towards the end which actually worked to her advantage when Heidi was seen as more of a threat, getting voted off, leaving Jenna with another chance at immunity which she'd win, not a dumb move, but bad form, whine to the top - isn't THAT hot, but anyway - she didn't "outplay" or outwork or out do anyone in any way. The only thing she managed to do right was win the two huge immunities towards the end, which was good, but doesn't prove you deserve shit. (I say only two immunities because the other two she won wasn't all her doing. There was a lot of other "fueds" going on with Deena wanting to eliminate Dave and other things in cooperative challenges that simply ended up with Jenna on top) - she helped Heidi (the whore) turn on Christie after their selfish asses tried to use her after ignoring her all show. Their fear of good ol' Christie beating them proved a more powerful driving force than lobbying to vote out their new archenemy Rob earlier in the game. THEN, Christie votes FOR the heffer! You know what? I'm fed up with recapping this to myself and you're probably just getting more pissed just reading it. I know I sure as hell am. I'm cutting this promo short. We all know who the real winner is. Matt you're the man, man. Enjoy your new whip. Everyone's just jealous of you like LOTC said... Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I've never seen The Amazing Race...how does it work exactly? Teams of two, given "clues" (more or less told exactly where to go. Only in season 1 were they really given clues) for where to go next, and complete a task to get the next clue. They're given a set amount of money for each leg of the race, for everything except airfare. Last team to finish the leg gets eliminated, except in 3 (3? I think it's 3) non-elimination legs. Teams can form alliances if they want, but they're normally quickly disbanded, and it all comes down to skill, not popularity. Which is why it was so much more painful to see Flo win last year. Guest Heel In Peril Report post Posted May 12, 2003 And I think I learned something today. Hard work and honesty combined with making a mistake or two makes you imperfect and reveals your hidden dishonesty. Lying all the time makes you a brilliant mastermind and earns you respect in the long run. And being a lazy spoiled heffer earns you a million dollars. ... Funny how similar to wrestling history this is. ::rethinks goals in life::
Guest fairtoflair7 Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Where does the Amazon rank on the Top Survivor shows overall? Guest starvenger Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Where does the Amazon rank on the Top Survivor shows overall? I never watched 1 or 4 but I think 2 was the best with Tina's win followed by Brian's win, then the Amazon and finally Marquesills. Rob by far was the best player never to win the prize. I'd rank it as second best behind the first one and ahead of Australia. I was disappointed that Jenna won, but Rob made this one very interesting. Without him in the mix, we'd have been left with the usual Pagonging and a rather boring endgame. The first one is still the best though, and set the standard for how the game would be played. Plus there was the whole subplot of what CBS did (manipulating images, false leads on the website etc) to protect the identity of the winner that made it even more interesting. Australia (2) is third, but just barely. Like the Amazon, the winner was a shock to me, but the game was still new and people were still trying to formulate winning strategies to get to the endgame. And you're always left to ponder "What if Mike hadn't inhaled?" I rank Marquesas (4) fourth, but to me it's only memorable for a couple of major things - Boston Rob basically being a shit disturber and a group of people FINALLY saying "fuck you I'm not finishing 5th" and overthrowing the dominant alliance. Thailand (5) is fifth. Boring as hell once the non-merge came, but Brian was fucking brilliant (and really the only reason that I rank it ahead of Kenya. Shii An and Robb were fun to watch while they were there though. Kenya (3) is last. A good idea in theory, but seeing people just sit in a small circular camp ALL THE FUCKING TIME was just damn boring. Positives was the introduction of the tribe swap, Lex turning heel and Big Tom for odd random quotes.

Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 I agree mainly with starvenger, but I'd put both Australia and Marquesas ahead of this one. Now if Rob or Matt had managed to win, it'd be at least ahead of Marquesas, and fighting with Australia. Flo didn't win last year, Zack did. Flo was just a parasite along for the ride. She still got her $500,000 and that's sickening enough.

My problem was that she did NOTHING and she still won. I hated Chris & Alex from Survivor 2 for the same reasons. All they did was follow Wil & Tara the entire time and outrun them at the end, even though Wil & Tara got there five minutes earlier.
Guest fazzle Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Yes it is sickening, but the way you talked it sounded like she won because she was good despite being a bitch. Well, IMO, it's more sickening that she won a game of skill than Jenna winning a popularity contest last night. Especially since she did NOTHING. Zach should have stopped to take his pants off a couple more times.

Now if Rob or Matt had managed to win, it'd be at least ahead of Marquesas, and fighting with Australia. I can see that. It's kinda like the main event in a boxing/wrestling/mma card - you want it to blow you away (or at least let you "go home happy"), not dissapoint you. Jenna winning did just that. Kahran's Marquesas hate probably stems from the fact that there weren't too many interesting characters. OK, there was Boston Rob and that was it. Everyone else (except maybe Kathy, who probably deserved to win) was basically just a whiny bitch.

Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted May 12, 2003 Why did you rank Africa so high, Kahran? And why the Marquesas hate? Dames It had the best scenery for one. Eastern Africa is a beautiful place, much better than looking at beaches & water all the time. I hated the Mallrats, but they got theirs in the end and it was great to see them taken down. Lex was one of my favourite survivors ever. Aside from Kim getting to the final two, I was very pleased with the outcome of the show. It was just a fun season. Marquesas was just a bunch of lazy bitter dipshits vs hard working arrogant assholes. Nobody on that show knew how to play the game. Rob stirred shit up, but that is not how you win and he didn't even get on the jury. Kathy was probably the best at it, but she played horribly the entire first half of the season and got screwed in the end. Vecepia won because John & Company were pissed that Neleh actually wanted to win instead of just waiting to get voted out. Sean & Vecepia were blatant racists. The Paschal/Neleh relationship was sickening. One tribe shelocked the other in every challenge except for the rigged SOS thing. Gabe didn't come to play. Peter was insane. Patricia was Debb/BB reborn. Hunter & Gina were just like John's Alliance except they weren't around as long. Sarah was the dumbest survivor in the history of the show. The scenery was also the worst of all the shows. As far as tropical shorelines go, Borneo, Thailand & Panama are far more visually appealing. Marquesas was just a disaster. Amazon had a similar problem, but they were far more intelligent and knew how to play the game far better than those on Marquesas. The Marquesas survivors were just morons.
