Guest j.o.b. squad Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Zandig has invited nine up-and-coming individuals from outside CZW to compete for an invitation to this year's Best of the Best 3 Tournament on Saturday, March 8, 2003. Zandig's Trifecta Elimination will give one individual an automatic spot in the Best of the Best 3 First Round Brackets. ---------------------- so 9 man tourney in march schould be cool depending on who is invited
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 14, 2003 I hope they don't stick with the shitty format they've been doing. It's retarded to do a 3 way dance, eliminate one guy, then have the other two guys work later. Sure it's different...but it's not any good.

Yeah, you should always double check yourself when being a sarcastic wiseass.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Well, that's where Jimmy Rave, Tony Mamaluke, Justice, and the other Florida guy will go. But the other five? Who else? Arsenal from IWS in Canada? Actually borrowing some ROH talent? I'm 99.9% sure "Spyder" Nate Webb won't be one of them. Who will be the other five? Regardless, Rave, Mamaluke, Justice, and Florida Guy #2 will all be in BOTB3, along with Ruckus, Sonjay, Cash, B-Boy, GQ, and MAYBE the Backseats. It's looking interesting this year. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 14, 2003 I wouldn't be suprised to see guys like Tenacious Z, Truth Martini, and Chris Sabin...after being in alone Michigan for years they're really branching out and working for other promotions.
Chunk 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2003 What about Fliesch and Storm? They stole the show last year. Also, I dont have a problem at all with the format. I dont understand why people hate it so much. If it was all singles matches then the show would be too long. Sure it might be better to mix it up in round two, but i dont see that big a problem with the way they do it. This show in march sounds good, but arent they blowing some of the potential matches for the actuall show. Your not telling me, that only one person form the show in March will progress to the finals? If so, then they are going to have to pick 8 small time guys that surely wont draw that well? On the subject of BOTB, I hope they pick a decent winner this time. I mean I like Trent Acid, but he wasnt a popular choice for winner last year IMO. And the winger was an aweful pick as well, that IMO was only put over as a way of strengthening links with Japan. I have to admit though that BOTB is my only automatic must buy CZW show of they year (befor seeing reports etc). ChUnK!
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 15, 2003 I think CZW screwed up by not putting it on Acid the first year. They should have gotten their own guy over first. And the format is boring cause by the time the 2nd round comes along, you've already seen the match. I could get into the format if the first round eliminated 2 guys instead of 1. The 3 way dance has been so overused in the indies.

Personally, I dont have too big a problem with it though. I hope to see Jonny and Jody back though. I know theyve worked for the 'enemy' now, but they had when the made the move from CZW (if you see what I mean), so you never know. ChUnK!
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted February 15, 2003 Jonny's with XPW, so he's out. Jody is on vacation, from what I've heard. Either way, my money is either on Sonjay or B-Boy, hell that's probably my final anyway. Either way, the show is too damn long, amazingly enough. You can't have four rounds in one night and expect the wrestlers to keep going strong. I was hoping that they would expand to 16 and run two nights, knowing that friday's wouldn't draw as well, or drop to 8 and 3 rounds. I mean, odds are I'll break my "no tapes for the rest of the school year" rule and pick up BOTB3, but probably won't be able to watch it all in one run. BOTB2, I was tired after the WB/Lobo "match" and had no urge to go onto the next FOUR matches, three tournament. Flat out, the show is too damn long.
Chunk 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2003 Jody's workimg ROH at the end of march, and is working FWA in March and May (as far as I know) so i dont know what the holiday thing is all about I will agree that the show can be too long though. I was 'spent' after the Jody/Jonny match last time around, and I wasnt into the final at all. Two tape shows can be annoying though, and I dont think it would be so good if there was fewer wrestlers, so your kind of inbetween a rock and a hardplace Im still looking forward to the show though, and it would be my number 1 pick if I could only have one CZW tape per year. Guest j.o.b. squad Report post Posted February 16, 2003 whats odd with your complaints about the long show is that it appears that april 12 will be a double header gabe s.(i have no clue how to spell his last name) the booker for roh says they will be having a 5 oclock show that day then people will then be heading over to botb so you are looking at hopefully a little less than 3 hours of roh followed by botb into the wee hours of the morning(czw usualy goes to a little after midnight and the bigshows even more so) also i woude rather have the show a little longleaving me burnt out but feeling i had got my moneys worth than short and wanting more wrestling just in case you doubted me from the horses mouth or schould that be fingers http://rfvideo.com/default.asp?page=backst...4&categoryid=
Chunk 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2003 I had heard about this as well. That is going to be a monster of a day. I wish I could be a part of it. I agree that I like to get my moneys worth, but enough can be enough, and the final that has been built to for hours can end up getting over looked. Which cant be good. ChUnK!
