[Guest El Luchadore Magnifico]

Fade in on a darkened gym, completely empty and silent. Where there usually would be a bevy of physical activity, an eerie tranquillity stands as the exercise equipment sits motionless, waiting to be used once again. Suddenly, an unsettling sound pierces the silence, echoing throughout the gym as it becomes obvious that the building is not empty.

 

WHACK!

 

WHACK!

 

WHACK!

 

WHACK!

 

Slowly, the camera finds and focuses in on El Luchadore Magnifico, wailing away at the punching bag floating in the center of the gym. A look of grim determination painted on his face, Magnifico puts all he has into every punch, sending the bag flying backward with each blow.

 

WHACK!

 

WHACK!

 

WHACK!

 

“AAAAARRRRRGH!!”

 

WHACK!

 

ELM cries out in frustration as he lands one final shot, knocking the bag back to its furthest point. As it swings back towards the luchadore, Magnifico catches it and leans up on the bag, his chest heaving.

 

“Who does he think he is?” Magnifico mutters, barely audible. “What makes him think...he can beat me?!”

 

ELM suddenly restarts his bag-whacking, his face twisting into a mask of rage as he does so.

 

WHACK!

 

“He thinks he has the advantage?” Magnifico shouts to no one in particular, “He thinks I’m just going to crumble at his feet?!”

 

WHACK!

 

“He doesn’t know...he doesn’t know what I’ve been through!”

 

WHACK!

 

“The Ladder Matches!”

 

WHACK!

 

“The Hell in the Cell!”

 

WHACK!

 

“When there were no rules!”

 

WHACK!

 

“When there were no holds barred!”

 

WHACK!

 

“When my LIFE was on the line!”

 

WHACK!

 

“Each-“

 

WHACK!

 

“And every-“

 

WHACK!

 

“Battle-“

 

WHACK!

 

“All for MY World Title!”

 

WHACK!

 

The bag flies backwards once again, and as it swings back, ELM catches it and holds the bag in place. Magnifico leans his head against the rough material and closes his eyes.

 

“Everything I sacrificed...

 

...my family...

 

...my health...

 

...a normal life...

 

...he thinks that I’m going to just throw all that away?”

 

ELM’s eyes slowly open.

 

“TNT...” whispers Magnifico, “...it’s not going to end with you. No matter what happens, what I have to go through, how badly I have to beat you...it will NOT end with you.”

 

As he finishes, the lights suddenly come up, illuminating the gym.

 

“Mag, are you in here?” shouts Annie Eclectic with a touch of concern.

 

Magnifico sighs to himself. “Si, Annie, estoy aqui.”

 

“Uh, I’ll take that as a yes.” Annie responds, venturing into the gym and heading over to the luchadore. “Sooo...”

 

ELM cocks his head and looks at Annie, curious as to what she has to say. The female Carnie examines the scene for a moment, looking first at the Magnifico, then at the bag, then back at Magnifico.

 

“Y’know,” Annie begins, “This is kinda my thing. I could sue you for copyright infringement.”

 

ELM’s mouth curves into a smile before the luchadore lets out a small chuckle, happy that Annie cut the tension in the room. Annie smiles as well.

 

“C’mon, let’s go. CIA’s waiting for us.” Annie beckons, turning towards the gym’s exit.

 

“Yeah...okay.” Magnifico responds. He turns and takes one last look at the bag, his fists clenched...before releasing them, and following Annie out of the gym. As the lights go out, the camera focuses in on the punching bag, which floats motionlessly over the center of the floor.

 

Fade...

Author's Note: Yeah, kinda short, but I think it gets the point across. By the by, if you feel like it, you can imagine Magnifico shouting at the punching bag in Spanish. It probably has the same effect.

You pretty much said it yourself when you say it got the point across. T'was good enough. It's borderline basic though, so let's hope you 3 letter wonders can build something stronger for the PPV.
