JasonX 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2003 IIRC...Didn't Austin request personally that he feud with Eddie Guerrero which resulted in the bar skit, etc.? Of course that did get pushed to the back burner when Austin left and refused to job to Lesnar in what would have just been a wasted, nothing match that wouldn't have popped any ratings. Side note, has Dave Meltzer or any of the other newsletter folk ever officially confirmed something that Scott Keith's been talking about in his mailbags lately, that the whole "Austin wanting to work with Eddy and Benoit and elevate them" was a lie, that Austin was being forced to feud with them after demanding that Vince book Austin in yet another Austin/Undertaker feud? Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted February 16, 2003 Well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Austin had no intention of elevating Eddy. It was an obvious transition feud. Don't know about benoit, though.
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted February 16, 2003 I don't think Austin had no intention of elevating Eddy. We know Austin would have won the match, but we also know Austin would have made Eddy look credible in the process.

Guest My Eyebrow is on fire Report post Posted February 16, 2003 i'd just like to point out - if it hasn't been said already - scott hall said he was not planning to be in the WWE past wrestlemania - but went to backlash as a surprise to himself. Austin indicated in his article he knew the same thing...I don't blame him for his conduct with his program with hall especially since the writers were writing the storyline 5 minutes before the fucking show and never planning ahead. I DO blame him for squashing jericho on every RAW leading up to and including the NWO ppv...there was no excuse for that.
