1992- Royal Rumble was not the best PPV of 1992. Wrestlemania VIII and Summerslam 92 are much better shows.

1993- I haven't seen RR93 but Summerslam 1993 sounds like the better show- which I have seen.

1996- Survivor Series blows King of the Ring out of the water.

1998- Summerslam is the better show as it's more well rounded and is a lot of fun to watch.

1999- No Mercy is pretty boring with the exception of :that: match. I like Summerslam and Fully Loaded a lot more.

2000- No way is Fully Loaded better then Backlash or Judgement Day.

As I said in my MMM of 2000 review, Fully Loaded is a underrated favorite of mine. The opener was damn good for an opener (T & A and Trish vs. Team Extreme), the cage match was cool if only to see Rikishi doing a Superfly splash, and 2 out of the 3 Triple Main Event matches were pretty awesome (save for Angle/Taker). It just gets overshadowed by the other awesome PPVs of that year.

On a related note (since I'm doing the show this week): What's the opinion on WM 2000?

Well, at Summerslam Oddities vs Kaientai wasn't that great nor was the mixed tag. The Tag Title match was crap and the Austin vs Taker WWF Title match was pretty weak compared to most main event matches. Over the Edge wasn't spectacular but the main event was simply awesome, surprisingly good Blackman vs Jarrett opener, fun Kaientai vs Bradshaw/Taka match and a decent Rock vs Faarooq match. Granted Vader vs Kane sucked balls as did Mero vs Sable but that was about it.

WM 2000: Fun Hardcore Battle Royal(***1/4), Hardyz vs E/C vs Dudleyz(*****), Angle vs Jericho vs Benoit(***1/2-***3/4), Decent HHH vs Rock vs Mankind vs Show(***). Fairly decent overall, mainly get for the Hardyz vs E/C vs Dudz match and maybe Angle vs Jericho vs Benoit match.

Summerslam has a terrific Rock v. HHH match and aside from the 8-man tag everything was good. I liked the Mankind v. NAO match but that's just me.

I also thought Taker v. Austin was awesome and had this 'big match' appeal to it.

Kingpk-

Fully Loaded has two great matches and a fun opening match but the rest of the show is pretty boring.

Wrestlemania is a show that a lot of people hate due to HHH being over but it's a good show even though the ending does suck

About your list BobBacklund-

Survivor Series 95 is a great show as Dawn said. I'd make that PPV of the year for 95

I would definetly say that WCW Fall Brawl 2000 was a much better show than WCW Spring Stampede 2000.

Good macthes like Elix Skipper vs. Kwee-Wee, 3 Count vs. M.I.A., Natural Born Thillers vs. The Filthy Animals, Jeff Jarrett vs. Mike Awesome and Scott Steiner vs. Goldberg.

Not even an apperance from Vince Russo managed to ruin this show.

Spring Stampede 2000 was set-up to be disappointing, really.

I remember most of the card was "tournament-style", where most of the workers were wrestling twice and even three times that night.

Here's the list of wrestlers who doubled up:

-Douglas

-Buff

-Ric Flair

-Lex Luger

*Tag Title Finals*

-Mike Awesome

-Vampiro

-Scott Steiner (3x)

-Sting (3x)

*U.S. Title Quarter, Semi and Finals*

The Jarrett/DDP World title match was pretty good though.

Dawn-

Have you seen Starrcade 95? It's the only WCW PPV I've seen from 95 and it's a kick ass show. I was wondering if you found it better then WW3 95

That's the one PPV I haven't been able to find from 95 unfortunately. I heard the Guerrero vs Ohtani match rules all and the Benoit vs Liger(That right?) match was good too.

Guerrero v. Ohtani does rule all. And yea- Benoit faces Liger

From 95 I've also seen Fall Brawl- It had two great matches but the WarGames was awful

Starrcade 95 was the best PPV of that year for WCW.

Bob, I have to disagree with you about '93 WWF. SummerSlam was a weak show and Royal Rumble, while not totally superior, was a better show, IMO.

I've never seen Royal Rumble Dames so I can't comment on it.

Summerslam has two very good matches and a great angle involving Bret Hart and Jerry Lawler. The main event isn't that bad and the card as a whole is nice and fun.

Bob, Royal Rumble '93 was the first PPV I ever saw live as a kid and SummerSlam '93 was the second. I have both PPV's on tape and there's no doubt in my mind which one is superior. Check out RR and you'll see.

I remember watching RR93 in scramble as a kid.

Summerslam 93 is the first tape I ever bought so it holds a special place in my heart.

If I ever get a chance to- I will watch RR93

WCW BEACH BLAST 1992

WCW SUPERBRAWL 1991 or

WCW WRESTLEWAR 1991

I've seen Superbrawl 1 and WrestleWar 91- it's hard to say which is the better show. I'll say WrestleWar 91 because of the great WarGames and Luger v. Spivey.

Even though Superbrawl does have the greatest tag team match ever.

I've never seen Halloween Havoc 98 but Souled Out 98 is a terrific show

I just want to voice my opinion on World War 3 1995 vs Starcade 1995.

Both are the top PPV's from either company in 1995.

WW3: Sting/Flair(***-***1/2)

Suzuki/Ozaki vs Nakano/Hokuto(***1/4-***1/2)

DDP/Badd(***1/2-***3/4) I kid you not this match owns.

A decent battle royale.

Starcade 95: Eddie/Ohtani(****1/4-1/2)

Benoit/Lyger(***1/2)

Flair/Luger/Sting(****) Very underrated match.

Savage/Flair(**1/2) With another point for a great blade job by Flair.

Plus a few other decent WCW vs Japan matches.

If you get the chance buy both although by inches I recommend Starcade more.

Also:

WCW HALLOWEEN HAVOC 1998 or

WCW SOULED OUT 1998 - MUCH better. Bret/Flair, Lucha action and Benoit/Raven.

WCW SUPERBRAWL 1992 or

WCW BEACH BLAST 1992 - Most underrated PPV of all-time. Rude/Steamboat, Sting/Cactus & Steiners/MVC

WCW SUPERBRAWL 1991 - Equal but the tag match > Wargames thus this is the pick.

WCW WRESTLEWAR 1991

WCW WRESTLEWAR 1990 or

WCW CAPITOL COMBAT 1990 - I'll recommend this since I aint seen Wrestlewar 1990.
