Thats just flat out awesome. It'll be interesting to see how this project works out. Maybe it'll be kind of a Fozzy thing, but it could catch on. Cena has got immense skills in many departments, he'll be a MAJOR player in the WWE to come.

Never heard of 7L, so im gonna look him up on Kazaa.

Remember when Rikishi "won" a freestyle contest against Cena on Smackdown? Ha!

And now I think they should bring back The Prototype as his nickname or whatever

Are you nuts? He's getting so over as a heel with this it's almost criminal.

no no no, stay heel, stay John Cena, but make it like "The Protoype" John Cena, or thats his rap name.

I dont know...ive just always liked The Prototype as a name

Cena killed Rikishi in that battle.

Where did you get this news from?

Wasn't The Prototype a heel anyway? I remember way back when I saw him wrestling in a dark match against Shelton Benjamin he wrestled heel as Prototype.

I like Cena myself, but I don't think that any tracks off this album will be spun at a nightclub. The gimmick is great thanks to the effort he puts into it, but as a mainstream identity, I dunno. No one is going to rush out and buy a CD by "John Cena, WWE Wrestler". Most casual fans don't even have a clue who this guy is. Hell, Don Johnson was on top of the world with Miami Vice, and made a mistake releasing that HORRIBLE "Heartbeat" song. Why would the public welcome John Cena with open arms?

Cause it might actually be decent. Pretend he's not a wrestler, any new guy gets a shot. Look at 50 cent. Did you know who he was 9 months ago? He just sold a million albums in 8 days.

I was there at that show too. I don't know about your section, but all the heat from mine was pretty much angry "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?" heat. Plus he was doing some heelish playing to the crowd, shouting at them and waving his hands around.

Actually, I did know who 50 Cent was 9 months ago. I knew who he was almost 2 years ago, when he did a song called "How To Rob An Industry Ni**a".

I've known 50 CENT for quite some time...and there's one difference...50 Cent has legit heat with Rap superstars that drew him attention even BEFORE wanksta...and also...He has the two biggest stars in Rap pushing him and giving him the BEST beats...

Its gonna take a Neptunes remix to make it MTV friendly. He is no American Idol voice wise so the music needs to be either Ghetto Rap and R&B with a chorus by Ashanti or a fast pace bass heavy beat to coverup the voice.

Blah, is this serious?

Cena's lyrics has gotten better, i'll give him that.....

but the way he delivers it just "ZzzZzZzZzZZz".

If he dedicates a whole track going off on Brock & Eddie...i'll download it!

Cena's alright, and his flow on the Smackdown Halloween show was kinda tight. I dunno if he's ready for a solo album yet, though. I think they should give him a track or two on the next WWE album just to test him out, and then see what that leads to.

TRL will be all over it. I mean hell they make Nelly out as a god and Cena isn't much worse than him.

Awesome. Cena has a kind of drawling style, sort of reminiscent of Snoop. With the right production, it could be good shit. Not that he'll be credible... but I'll listen to it.

Man, Cena has good flow and is very articulate. I'm sure we haven't seen the best of Cena on TV either. In fact, he has slowed down his rhyming lately. I assume that the WWE wants him to do it slower so more people can catch on to what he is dissing. Regardless, I don't think this will be a top 40 hit, but hip hop has such a great Underground scene that if this album is any good, it'll still get praise.

It's kind of funny...last year the WWE loses an assload of money. How do they plan to recoup it? A freaking John Cena record from Smackdown Records. Ugh.

Fozzy didn't make his album on Smackdown! records, so why would Cena? And I thought that label shut down anyway? It'll probably be put out independently, or on 7L & Esoteric's label.

and FYI the WWE made profit last year, yeah the profits were lower than in years past but they aren't at WCW levels, money-wise ye anyways  ...

Smackdown Records closed...never heard of 7L....The 1000% Guapo guy, rap doesn't need Ashanti or a neptunes remix to be MTV friendly....Jadakiss, 50 Cent, Baby, P. Diddy, etc. have all been on MTV without female choruses or the Neptunes. Cena sucks and I see horrible shades of Vanilla Ice in him.

"Cena has drawing power reminiscent of Snoop"

I'm so not even gonna touch that with a fucking 10 foot pole. That's about as ignorant as the "Look at that new up and comer 50 Cent he made it big quick" comment.

As long as he can record without taking two months off I don't see a problem with it.

Rap sucks, IMO.

As does Timothy Dalton.

No, no, no.

Perhaps you didn't read my original post, RAP sucks. I trust when you reread it you'll see the error of your ways.

I was originally laughing, but you know what? This could be good. Cena actually does have talent, and if he's working with a credible DJ, then shit, more power to him. Who knows, I may actually buy the damn thing.

Hey, I'm not alone. Rap aggravates me, I actually destroyed a radio, when my cousin put started listening to Tupac.
