What's closed around you?

Recommended Posts

I'm at work, but no one's really here. I wish I could leave, but I can't just yet. There's a lot of businesses closed here and major universities in the area are closed.

What about where you guys live? You get the day off?

I got the day off from classes, which was good because I had an essay due and I've procrastinated too much this week. I'm here at work now, though...gotta love mail-order companies.

Well I got called in because one of the guys comes in from Taunton, MA, about 45 minutes away. I'm only a mile away from the offices, so they asked if I'd come in for a while this afternoon. I'll probably only be here until 4-5 the latest though. Just helping them catch up more or less.

I could also start doing my essay work here too...

The schools around here were closed yesteday because of the snow, but everything else is open. We didn't get nailed too hard, though. Only got like 5 or 6 inches, but the wind blew the shit everywhere.

Nadda.

Snow blew right under Michigan, which sucks cause I'm a mark for snow.

I was off work today because the Army actually decided to close the installation. That happens VERY rarely, as I understand it, and I fully expect to go back to work tomorrow.

Schools were closed, not so much because of the roads as the fact that the bus stops have been obliterated by snow, leaving the kids with no place to stand. Businesses are generally open, unless they were unfortunate enough to have their driveways blocked with mounds of plowed snow. We got a good two feet of HEAVY snow, and putting that much snow somewhere (when there was already snow piled up in places from the previous storm) is always a problem.

Schools are closed in our area, possibly for the rest of the week. We had 2 ft. of snow here. In 1996, the same situation happened, and we had no school for a week. I don't care, since I already have the week off.

Wimps. I used have to walk 5 miles in a foot of snow every damn day during the winter. To top that off try a windchill of 20 below blowing right into your face.

:P

Vern, was it uphill both ways? And did you have to use old newspapers for your snow boots?
