The subtitle of this year's Ozzfest should be:

'Who Needs The Main Stage?'

Hell Fucking Yeah...

Disturbed, Ozzy on the Main Stage is good for me but to be thier as the world witness the birth of the Future with Shadows Fall...

It seems more Metal then last year...I am still straching my head at Chevelle on the Main stage...I just don't think they are at Ozzy, Korn, Disturbed, Manson levels...but Hey, I'll live...

Looks great...

Three Great Tours already getting me hyped

Ozzfest, Lollapalooza (Audio Slave ONLY!) and Summer Sanitarium...

I hope I can afford all three

When do the dates for Ozzfest come out?

Hmmm....

I *may* go.

Depends on money and stuff....

No, just money.

I'm torn on Finger Eleven. Slow Chemical and Sad Exchange are good... but I bought Tip and it was atrocious.

Good news on the rest of the bands, though.

Whoa Whoa...wait a second....Cradle of Filth is headlining 2nd Stage in....USA?? I know they have done the Euro Ozzfest....but hell if they are headling 2nd Stage in America...OMG~!

CoF is also HEADLINING this year's New England Metal/Hardcore Festival. They're gaining popularity.

I'm still wiping myself off after reading about SHADOWS FALL...

This year sounds like a GRASS SEAT year. Since with a grass ticket you can still go up to the front of 2nd stage. I wouldn't mind seeing Manson on main stage, but it is probably a good idea to be far back when I do, plus the outdoor building here has screens and speakers draped up all the way to the back. So I will rock out and mosh all day at 2nd stage, and relax for one act on Main Stage and then leave before the crowd~! Hopefully Grass seats are between $20-30 like every other year. Man...2nd stage is killer...Shadows Fall, KillSwitch Engage(saw them when they opened for Kittie) and CoF....WHOA~!

Well Marilyn Manson and Cradle Of Filth guarantees that I will be buying a ticket. Both are insanely fun to watch and will be worth the money on their own, and theres no way Shadows Fall and Nothingface can suck live despite the fact that I haven't seen them.

This'll piss Corey off - Who the fuck are Shadows Fall?

Manson on the main stage would be all the reason i'd need to go...however i live about an entire ocean away and all, and im not quite up for the swim.

Oh well..

wow its cradle of fag~!!!!!!! HEADLINING THE SECOND STAGE right on, they are getting mainstream, good for them I guess.

So what's on the main stage? pfft yeah this is definitely a grass seat year. I'd buy my fucking ticket right now if only I knew people in South Florida who would go (I live in California now and am moving there so thus I would know nobody...this sucks.)

oh and by the way before people jump over my nickname for CoF, I call them that for 2 reasons... 1. I hate the lead singer's shrieking like a banshee, and 2. Since they're getting mainstream now, you see all the wusstastic bitches going around wearing their t-shirts. The band's cool, but some of their fans...ick...(remembers when System of a Down started getting mainstream and grimaces)

Doesn't really piss me off so much as disappoint me. UYI, I've been whoring out the awesomeness of Shadows Fall since the transition from EZ Board. It's kind of "my thing," ya know?

You might dig 'em. If you like Metallica, you'll definitely dig 'em. They're kinda like the Metallica of the extreme metal scene: catchy songs, decent lyrics that are both genius and stupid (depending on your view, as with all lyrics), classical influence, and a great blend of semi-complex and uber-easy riffs that just kick tons of ass.

I'd suggest downloading the following 6 tracks, 2 off of each studio album (I'll tell you the album name as well), to help you get acquainted with them. If you like them, it's all good. If not, well then that's your personal taste...just don't tell me they suck :D

SONG - ALBUM

"Purity" - Somber Eyes To The Sky

"Somber Angel" - Somber Eyes To The Sky

"Crushing Belial" - Of One Blood

"To Ashes" - Of One Blood

"Stepping Outside The Circle" - The Art Of Balance

"The Art Of Balance" - The Art Of Balance

con:

OzzFest is at the Twat Center again? FUCK...that venue sucks. Why won't they just hold it outdoors? Outdoor festivals are ALWAYS good. Or, best yet...FLEET CENTER or WORCESTER CENTRUM?!

Ya you may want Lawn Seats, their gonna be really cheap this year

Ozzfest 2003 is offering a limited number of lawn seats for $10 - making Ozzfest the best value for your concert dollars this summer. The special priced ten dollar tickets are available only at venue box offices or other designated locations while they last. Check your local listings and venue websites for purchase information.

The only thing im worried bout is Boston only gets 1 show, we always have 2 shows every year...guess this means gotta buy tickets ASAP

And I'm really psyched to see Finger 11, one of my favorite bands that I havent seen yet

Im still wondering why Chevelle is on the main stage, They probably figure if they put them on the main stage, they will blow up and become even bigger or just suck and people will hate them

Im suprised Stone Sour aint on the tour

Well this ozzfest still looks 10x better than last years

Twat Center or Tweeter Center is outdoors, Maybe you meant, Rather have it indoors? well doesnt the Tweeter Center hold more perhaps? i dunno

Guest CoreyLazarus416

I meant don't have it at a known venue. Have it like the Locobazooka shows are held. In a field somewhere, with stages set up. It's a better atmosphere, and booths set up to meet certain bands at certain times would probably generate more revenue.

And I'm not surprised only one Boston date is listed. It was the same last year, but they added another one on about two weeks before the Boston show.

When do tickets go on sale?

Guest Choken One

YES! Polaris! I can make that show!...

On my Pop's bday though...Oh well...

Guest converge241

The previously announced Cradle of Filth will no longer be performing on the NE metalfest due to their commitment to headline the second stage of the OzzFest tour.

Guest packwingfn

Ya i really liked the venue on how it was for Locobazooka, but its probably tough to get that venue specially since how bad it got trashed haha

Yeah...

TRASH HIGHLIGHT OF LOCOBAZOOKA HOMECOMING '02:

Zakk Wylde got hit in the face with a long plastic beer cup (you know what I'm talking about) mid-solo, and just kept playing as if it didn't happen.

Wow, so Cradle can't play OzzFest AND MetalFest...but Shadows Fall and Killswitch Engage can make BOTH?

...Dani need to take that dick out of his ass...

Guest packwingfn

Yah I remember that, I was up close in the middle of the pits, It was insane

and yes thats why Zakk = God

Maybe you might've seen me, then. I was this kid walking around with a mohawk near 2 chicks, and I was wearing a homemade Beyond The Embrace white tee (permanent markers are fun).

Cant really remember people or anything as I was tryin to enjoy the music while saving my small behind....What a great show tho!

Cradle seals the deal for me. Besides, I like checking out the up-and comers. Manson's an excellent performer, and I can always deal with seeing Ozzy, so I'm all over this fucker. I'm curious as to how good Shadows Fall is live as well. Art of Balance was hit and miss with me, so if they're good live, I can officially say I don't mind them.

Also, UYI, instead of downloading The Art of Balance, just go listen to Fade to Black. It's the same song.

Guest CoreyLazarus416
Posted

UYI, don't listen to Agent. He thinks all mini-epics are the same song. I wouldn't be surprised if he thought Nevermore's "Believe In Nothing" was the same song as Iron Maiden's "Children Of The Damned."

Guest Agent of Oblivion
Posted

They're not the same song, but they do both suck.

Guest Agent of Oblivion
Posted

Besides, you can't tell me there aren't glaring, huge, obvious similarities in structure, tone, and lyrics in Fade to Black and Art of Balance.

Everything in terms of the vocal lines to the riffs are dead-on.

Guest CoreyLazarus416

You go listen to your grind where every song is "GRR GRR GRR I CAN PLAY FAST GRR GRR GRR." Wait...I forgot to add "GRR GRR GRR GROOVE BREAKDOWN GRR GRR GRR."
