Bret hart speaks out...

Still, none of us know Shawn Micheals personally. If the guy found Jesus, than good for him, who are we to piss on him because of his past? It is possible for people to change, and either way, we'll never know.

As far as HBK stopping HHH's backstage politics, do you really think HBK has that much power anymore? He's not the booker, it wasn't his decision to be put in main events, and he didn't automatically just make himself the World Champion.

I'm a huge Bret Hart fan, but i'm not going to act like i'm his cousin and share his exact thoughts.

Mick Foley is the guy I definetly respect the most in the buisness.

Shawn may've found Jesus but he's still dragging Bret's name through the mud and in my eyes he's a motherless fuck who hopefully will take a bad bump one day.

Shawn is ALSO the guy who shot on The Rock last June for no apparent reason.

That doesn't sound too Christian to me

Or maybe he's full of shit.

If he is half as religious as he states, he'd refuse to do anything of the sort. I mean, it's not like he's new to dismissing angles put in front of him.

As far as HBK stopping HHH's backstage politics, do you really think HBK has that much power anymore?  He's not the booker, it wasn't his decision to be put in main events, and he didn't automatically just make himself the World Champion.

Whatever happened to just having one match back? Are you saying he had no choice in the matter and simply HAD to come back for more matches?

IIRC, he was surprised at how good he was feeling post-SumSlam and decided to stick around more.

Oh, and HBK is Kliq. Kliq manipulates Vince. Now one of the Kliq is dating Vince's daughter. He's best friends with HHH so don't tell me he has no pull. If he didn't want to be booked in more matches he could have refused.

Of course, that is debatable, but I can't see HHH and HBK working together any longer if HHH said "fuck off--you can stay around and wrestle longer but you have no say in what angles we put you in."

Shawn agrees, and when he finds out about the elim chamber...

HBK: "Shouldn't the other wrestlers in the match be booked to look like possible winners? Also, why me as champion? There are much younger, more talented wrestlers who could win it. With everyone in the match you wouldn't look bad at all if you lost it to one of them."

HHH: "You're going to be World Champion whether you like it or not!! Come on, holding down talent, only jobbing to each other. It'll be just like old times!"

HBK: "I guess I have no choice..."

OR...

Now maybe, he said, "Hey, Shawn, wanna stick around and wrestle me a few more times, become World Champion for a bit, and help me bury RVD?"

HBK: "Really? '...and NUUUUUUUUUUUUUU World Wrestling Fed--Entertainment World Champion...SHAWN MICHAELS!' I love the idea!"

Which seems more likely?

I can't believe Vince is letting the Kliq's former whipping boy sire his grandchild. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

About Hogan, Hart talked about how Hogan didn't want to pass him the torch. It bothered Bret because at the time, the champion was the highest paid. Thus, Hogan's ego affected his salary.

Everything said regarding HBK and Triple H else checks out. But this is new.

A few years ago, during a magazine / internet interview, Bret said that he and Hogan got along great. He had heard rumors about Hogan not wanting to pass him the torch but their proposed Summer Slam 93 bout was never mentioned to him by Vince ... so he assumed they were merely rumors since Hogan was always nice to him in person. I believe this was after his WCW stint; perhaps when he was a guest on the LAW days after his release / retirement.

Great interview. It shows you how passionate he is when he says that he sided with Stone Cold in the Summerslam incident and that Owen should have called Steve's family when it happened.

First off, I respect Foley far more then I'll ever support Bret Hart.

I find it sad that Bret has resorted to name calling, If he was this honorable man as he tries to protray himself as...Then he'd would relinqush all his hatred and leave it be.

He seems possesed by Montreal and Owen's Death, It's all I ever hear or read him saying...

Yes, He has gone through tragedy but it has been 5 years. He needs to release his sadness and frustrations...He can't allow it to stay there...building into a cancerous tumor of his life. He is getting his health back, I would've like to thought that after suffering the lost of his mother, brother, brother in law and a sister, along with his career and suffering a stroke, He'd take time and appreciate life, enjoy the times with his kids before it's too late...

I can't help but only get an image of a Old broken down over weight man sitting in a dark room...replaying Goldberg's Superkick and Montreal on a continous loop...

I love Bret, but I am getting annoyed by this Pro-Bret Anti-Shawn bullshit...

I'm sorry but I have ZERO respect for a man that was so jaded by his own self proclaimed hype that he failed to notice what was really happening...I am getting annoyed how Bret and the IWC loves to establish Bret as an Martyr.

Bret Hart isn't an Martyr, he is simply a broken down man that refuses to relinquish the past...

I realize this isn't popular opinion around here, but to me Bret still sounds like the same old self-involved egomaniac he's been for years. His comments on Hogan are evident of that. If he was in the business merely for the spotlight and money as he seems to lead on, maybe it's best he got out when he did.

His shot at Foley irritated me too. Sure, he retracted the comment, but to me, it just screamed that he was grasping for straws. Yeah, you respected the business. We get it.

Bret didn't tell me to hate Shawn. I'm doing that out of the kindness of my heart.

And if you listend to his interview on the Observer back in January, it's clear that he is pretty much over everything - at least moreso than ever before.

You show me an established star from yesteryear ... hell, from the past 5 years ... and I'll show you a self-involved egomaniac. Sure, there are exceptions to the rule ... but it's still a rule.

Piper, Hogan, Flair, Honky, Bret, Shawn, Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, Goldberg, Nash, etc.

As quoted in the fan-made Bret Hart 'Desire' video "If you don't believe you're the best ... then you're gonna get beat." And all those guys, like so many others before and since, believed they were the best.

Wrestling is a profession built around self-promotion. You kinda have to be self-involved, at least to degree.

I'll drink to that. A vast majority of them are self-involved to a degree, but I think Bret takes the cake.

When he talks about Hogan not passing the torch, he's referring to before his WCW run, right?

Yeah, he's most likely referring to the Hogan / Hart Summer Slam 93 bout that never took place because Hogan left (some say because he didn't want to job to Bret clean).

I don't think Bret is the worst by far. Just one of many. Still my favorite.

That was a great interview, and I agree with most things he says.

And it's funny how the people that claim Bret is really bitter and can't get over the screwjob are the ones who seem bitter and can't get over the screwjob themselves. Bret didn't even bring up the screwjob in this interview, and maybe some of you (Choken One) don't realize that the host of the show was asking Bret questions, and he just answered them. You make it sound like he brought up everything himself and started taking shots at people for no reason or something.

And it's pretty much a clear fact that HBK is a piece of shit, everyone knows that. Bret just said it on TV, it's what everyone else thinks or says anyway so who cares?

Well look at it from Bret's perspective.

He believes if he was still in the WWF, Owen would still be alive. Try sleeping at night with THAT swirling around your head, the fact you could have saved your brother.

Whether he could have in reality or not isn't relevant, as Bret is the one who's thinking this and I can understand him having issues trying to get over it.

However, im with you on the Montreal incident, fair enough he got screwed, he looked like a hero, karma nailed Shawn exactly 60 days later and he got to punch Vince McMahon. He got what he wanted long ago, in terms of retribution, so there's no need to dwell on it.

Well yeah, I can see your perspective on the Owen situation, But It's now been 4 years almost and I feel that it's unhealthy to harbor grudges that won't bring back Owen...He really needs to ease his pain...

Agreed, he's only making his life worse dwelling on it.

And as much as it is said, and as hard as it is to accomplish, Owen would obviously want his brother to remember the good times they had and just move on with those in mind, not the thoughts of what could have been.

Another thing that annoys me here is...Has Bret done anything since that brief WWA Stint? I was wondering...how is he staying active in Wrestling? I haven't heard of him training or running Stampede or anything...

Not only did he lose his career thanks to Shawn but Shawn also trained a big part of the WWE future or the next smark darlings...

I've always wondered about that..

Does Stu still train kids in Calgary? Is Bret going to help out? I know that Bret is limited because of his stroke, but he doesn't have to actually show them physically, just his wrestling experience and advice could mould quite the wrestler.

I don't see this bitterness some of you guys are claiming Bret showed in this.

Compared to some of his older interviews he's been alot less "bitter" and "jaded" sounding for awhile.

He wasn't attacking Vince and calling him a murderer. He wasn't saying that Shawn single handedly ruined his life and career. What he said about Hogan didn't come of as Bret being "bitter".

I don't see how giving his opinions on stuff and not going off blaming everyone for stuff is being "bitter".

It must really kick Bret that Shawn went ahead and did what we all expected Bret to do, Train the next batch of superstars...

Shawn trained and honed the skills of Brian Kendrick

Bret trained and honed the skils of....Andrew "Test" Martin

It's amazing how Bret has lost EVERY single battle to Shawn...

And guys, this is Bret Hart we're talking about. He was involved in one of the most infamous incidents in wrestling history. His brother was involved in another. He is going to get asked about those incidents in every interview he ever gives if he lives to be 103. Get over it? His interviewers won't let him. Bret couldn't put this stuff away forever even if he wanted to.

Well you make a decent point...

Only time i can recall Bret EVER triumping over HBK was when they faced each other in a cage match, i believe around 1991/92, however i could be wrong.

I know that Bret stated that he respected Shawn as an athlete and looked forward to competing with him in the pre-match interview.

How times change.

Well don't forget Survivor Series 1992 and the ladder match...I don't recall a Cage match...

I was however refering to life in General...Shawn has won the battle in his life and Bret hasn't...
