Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 RVD will make a better champ and i'll bring Fonzie to WWE to be his mouthpiece, nothing against the other guys but they are nothing more than transitional champions.
cawthon777 Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 If you were running the WWE and only one of these guys could win the WWE or World Title in 2003 besides HHH, The Rock, Brock and Austin who would you choose between these guys: 1) Chris Benoit 2) Chris Jericho 3) Booker T 4) RVD 5) Kane Remember, you only have 1 choice. Whos' the most deserving? I would personally pick Benoit because he's over now and he's busted his ass for a long long time. Benoit. He has the most potential to pull off a Bret Hart-ish title run and make himself credible by beating every other mid carder / main eventer on the roster ... while making them look good in the process.
Guest crandamaniac Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Chris Benoit, with Chris Jericho as a close second. Benoit can bring out the best in his opponents. Look at his series with Rock and Austin. He got them to step up their performance to places that have never been seen before in the WWF. Granted he's not the best on the mic as some people on the roster, but if you keep him to a Silent Killer gimmick, where he rarely talks, and when he does talk, he gets right to the point, doesn't spit out a million and 1 catchphrases. Jericho is a close second because he's been up there so many times, but each time he's gotten a grasp on the ball, he gets tripp(L)ed(H) up and sent down to the mid-card. He's got talent, he's got charisma. He can make the crowd hate or love him. All he needs is to be built up right and he'd be there.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Benoit, no questions asked.
NYU Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 As if it's not obvious, my choice is: ROB..... VAN...... DAM !!
Guest wildpegasus Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I'd choose Benoit too though I'm not exactly sure if I'd give him the title in 2003. The chase would be more exciting than the capture to a lot of people out there.
Guest Brian Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 At this moment, I'd go Booker since he's really the guy to move with. Benoit needs a long chase, both Jericho and RVD need some re-building, and Kane is last.

Why do people say the WWE needs to build on Booker T, and in the same breathe dispute Austin's return to the ring because he is too old to build around? Booker is only 3 months younger than Austin, so is he really the one to build around? If yes, then you should be excited for Austin's return because he does have more to offer than the Book. I'd choose Benoit, only because he yet to hold a title.
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Beniot. He's shown that he can get over through wrestling, not promos and without serious bulid up, he got a standong ovation for his efforts against Angle at the Rumble.
Guest Brian Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I've never said anything bad about Austin on this board. I say Booker's hot and you push him to the top while you have the chance, not build around him. Especially on such a poor roster. If anything, Jericho's the guy they should be building around.

Fair enough, but the general consensus on this board seems to be that Austin's return is a terrible idea and in the same breath pimp a Booker T mega push. I would have asked anyone to question, it was just a good time to ask during this thread.
Guest Brian Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I think it's more split on the Austin return, but they need to pull the trigger on Booker soon if they are going to get anything out of him being over. And time is running low on that.

And time is running low on that. Booker T definetly needs the WM match with Triple H for the title. The WWE actually thought ahead, and formulated an emotional connection for a Booker T push to entice the fans.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Besides Benoit, which of the following SD guys--same question: 1) Edge 2) Eddy Guerrero 3) Rey Mysterio 4) Albert (hey, Vince thinks so) Please. If Vince thought so, Albert wouldn't be a a J-brone who can only beat Rey Misterio. They obviously never had any intention of making him a player, just a big monster to keep at a decent level of credibility for the top guys to defeat when there's a week to kill.
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Booker is too old and he would make a good transitional champ but i don't see him as a guy i would build my company around.
Guest Brian Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 You're right, he's not a guy to build a company around. But he's a hot commodity like RVD was and you have to strike when you can sometimes.
