Guest fazzle Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Wow, no Riley on the box, or on any of the DVDs? Shocking, considering how much they shoved him down our throats in season 4.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Wow, no Riley on the box, or on any of the DVDs? Shocking, considering how much they shoved him down our throats in season 4. Especially since he got an opening credit spot really quickly and Joyce never was in the opening credits even though she was a big mainstay for the first 5 seasons. Yeah, but I think Joss knows that a lot of Buffy fans just hate Riley...plus it's better to just have the regulars on the disks.

Guest Cavi Report post Posted February 21, 2003 If they try to convert this to widescreen like they did with the UK version (and totally botched it, mind you; same thing happened with the Angel Season Two set), I will will be so furious with Fox. Keep it in the original aspect ratio~!!!!
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I HATE RILEY FINN! Anyway...how did you get the cover art so quickly? I figured that it would be Buffy, Riley and Spike on the cover of Season 4. Dames
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 While watching Season 4 on FX I have come to see why everyone hates Riley........Marc Blucas is a horrible actor and he was all over that season infecting it with his bad acting.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 This davisdvd.com place gets box art really early, I guess. That's a really attractive box, btw.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 AC, YNA, I love you guys. I like how the Gentlemen are used on the box although they're only in one episode. God DAMN, I hated the season finale for Season 4. Dames
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 What was wrong with "Restless"?
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 21, 2003 God DAMN, I hated the season finale for Season 4. Dames I got here first. SO I got to be Cowboy guy
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I just consider Primeval the season finale as it wrapped up the main storyline...Restless had no real need for it to be the end. Dames
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Restless was heavy foreshadowing of season 5 since it had the big suprise at the beginning in Dawn's arrival, which was foreshadowed all the way back at the end of season 3.

Eh, she was more or less nonexistant in season 4. Oh..and why does Oz get his own DVD label, despite being in only like 6 or 7 episodes, while Anya gets nothing? Edit: Oh, because Seth Green sat down for 40 minutes and did a commentary. That's why he gets his own disc art.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I love "Restless." It's such an unorthodox season finale, and I kind of liked that they wrapped up the Adam business when they did; he was okay, but he was no Angelus, Mayor Wilkins, or even Glory. "Restless" was fascinating to me because it really showed off how much these characters have grown, and what all their real deepest fears and feelings are...and of course, all the cute hints for Season 5, like the First Slayer and "be back before dawn." It's also frickin' hilarious and both the school play and Giles' exposition song rock the shack. Season 4 is my favorite season as far as one-off eps go, and I'm really happy to see "Hush" get the attention it deserves. This looks like a great set, focusing on the really good aspects of Season 4. All of the episodes that have commentary are solid; there's no nonsense like having a commentary on frickin' "Reptile Boy" this time around. Odd that Oz gets a disc and Riley doesn't, but they *did* put Spike on the last disc of Season 3 even though he's got all of one ep in the season. But...hooraaaaay. 4 months is a long wait...but it'll be coming out right after season 7 ends, so that should be lovely.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted February 21, 2003 At least Giles gets a disc. I think this is his first.

cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 That looks awesome. Can't wait for Season 4. 'Restless' was very good albeit not what we're used to as far as season finales. I think the major criticism for that season was because there was no evil plot to end the world, thus no kick-ass buildup, thus no pay off. But foreshadowing ALWAYS = damn awesome. Guest Cavi Report post Posted February 21, 2003 I like "Restless" quite a bit. It's just so unique and different from the other finales. Some cool and distinctive cinematography used throughout the episode. I'm a fan of the big, wide shots they used during parts of the desert scene (and Chris Beck's scoring fits perfectly, as always). And, most definitely, I love the swing scene with Giles and Spike. Oh, and I know some of you know this, but there is a nice little reference to that particular scene in a Season Six ep. In "Tabula Rasa", Spike wears the same attire he wore in that scene. Not only that, but in "Restless", Giles says "Spike's like a son to me." Then in "Tabula Rasa", they come to the conclusion that Giles is Spike's father (through some hilarious lines). Great stuff.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 21, 2003 How can you not love "Restless" *Giles and Spike on the swings* Spike: "Giles is teachin me how to be a watcher." Giles: "He's like a son to me." Giles: *swinging* "Put your back into it! A Watch scoffs at gravity!" Overall it's a good episode with good scary and funny moments...and the only time to see Adam out of costume.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Ok...I should rephrase my statement. Granted, it's been 3 years since I've seen the episode. I hated the placement of the episode. It had its moments...and I especially remember the Cheese Guy. It just didn't fit in with the rest of the season and when I think "season finale", I think of the culmination and wrap up of the major storyline for the year. It's the same reason that I'm not too fond of the 2 part season finale for Angel: Season 2, the eps in Pylea. Dames

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 21, 2003 Amber was in the season 5 opening credits.
Guest Cavi Report post Posted February 22, 2003 Amber appears in two or three quick shots in the Season Five intro. She does not get a credit line. As FoleyDDP said, the only time she ever did was in "Seeing Red" (why she never did before that, beats me).
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 22, 2003 Shucks...I could've sworn her name came up in season 5. I kinda knew she was going to die when she came up in 6, it was so late in the season to add anyone else.
Guest EQ Report post Posted February 22, 2003 Remember, Amber Benson didn't get in the opening credits until the episode where she died (Seeing Red). Yo... watch the spoilers! This is a thread about Buffy season FOUR! Not even the actual season... the ARTWORK FOR THE DVD BOX SET WHICH HASN'T EVEN COME OUT YET and you just spoiled some MAJOR shit for season SIX! Guest Mole Report post Posted February 22, 2003 Good call EQ. SPOILERS...(I think) Wasn't Hush the episode where Joyce dies? And I thought she died in season 5, so why is Joss talking about it in season 4? Or am I just way off? I've only seen a few episodes of season 4&5 on FX, but I don't know the overall story. So I don't know shit about those seasons.
