If Edge can't work No Way Out, who should

With the unfortunate news that Edge may indeed have to have neck surgery that will put him out for close to a year, who should replace him at this week's 6 man tag? Up front I'll say that I think he should be replaced and they should do an injury angle backstage with Team Angle taking him out(God knows they need it with Brock making them look like pussies) to help establish Team Angle's lethalality.

 

 

Who should it be? Make your case for the following people: Eddy, Rey, and Rhyno.

I say Rhyno, and have him turn heel on Benoit to set up a Wrestlemania match. Afterall, who else is Benoit going to face?

This would be a good way for Rhyno to return...he was going to hit upper midcard before getting hurt, this would be a nice way to move him back there.

Team Angle taking him out(God knows they need it with Brock making them look like pussies) to help establish Team Angle's lethalality.

The only problem there (And it's not even a problem if Edge is out a year) is that This whole Brock/Angle feud is designed to show how useless Angle and Team Angle are. Brock's not selling and demolishing them every week makes them look bad. Now, trickling down, when those three soundly take care of people, it makes THAT level look bad. Team Angle really can't beat anyone without making them look REALLY bad at this point, because Lesnar can destroy them one on two, three, (and even four if you count Heyman) without breaking a sweat.

 

But if Edge is gone for a long time, it could work, but it would be rendered useless the next week when Brock kills them.

 

They have REALLY booked themselve into a corner, and are making the whole roster look bad for Brock's benefit.

 

Point: If Edge is coming back anytime soon, it's a bad idea. Basically, TA over ANYONE is a bad idea, so they are fucked.

That really isn't even an issue. I'd say 95 % of the fans have no idea nor do they care who's wrestling on Heat. The match isn't in any way important, and the six man, well, is, so if it comes to it, Rey's Heat match will be nixed.

Why does his Match on Heat have ANY bearing on him NOT wrestling on PPV?

 

It's likely just gonna be a quickie 7 minute match with Knoble...It's logical that Team Angle Ambush Edge at the end of Heat or early on PPV...It make sense over Eddy, whom is still being sold as a heel as far as I can tell.

 

Wouldn't it make sense that Rey Rey would see that his buddy and partner was attacked and want to align with Brock and Benoit and get his vengence? Really, The Heat Match means NOTHING. Who says he can't wrestle twice?

 

Rhyno Seems to be the heavyily pushed choice by Heyman and alot of Others...I don't like the concept of him being #3...I certaintly do not mind him interfering in the match to set up a Showdown with Benoit at Mania (Although I know AS vehemtally opposes the idea...but fuck his ass).

 

I am a strong supporter of the 3 Vs 2... Besides...Haas/Benjamin is pretty much ONE guy anyways...

Rhyno getting the spot makes like, zero sense storyline wise. I mean no sense what so ever. It's as random as Lex Luger returning to get the spot.

 

Rey is friends with Edge, has issues with Team Angle and is a top face on SD. He is the obvious choice.

I think the smart thing to do would be for Team Angle to destroy Edge to explain his year long injury here after surgery. That puts TA over strong and explains the situation. As far as a replacement, any would work in terms of overness and work. Id like to see Rey Rey keep his Heat match, and a Los Guereros match added to the card somehow. So Ill pick Rhino as my choice, with a monster beatdown of Edge early in the ppv or on Heat.

I agree somewhat...But why does everyone assume that By having a Match on Heat automatically means Rey can't wrestle later? Heat IS in Montreal right?

 

We can ABSOLUTLY Erase Eddy from being the 3rd Guy...

 

Rhyno makes zero sense...because He has ZERO relationship with Brock or Chris...We'd have to assume that Rhyno was already coincidentally in Montreal (remember, he isn't on any of the rosters) and saw the Attack and somehoe got backstage...

 

It's either logical to go with Rey or even more logical 3 Vs 2...

 

You can get Rhyno to Interfere by GORE GORE GORE Benoit (in canada, mind you) and get crazy heat, instant angle for Mania is set up for those two guys...

 

But again...EDDY is the most unlikely and unsensible replacement...

Err...maybe we were supposed to forget all about this, but didn't Team Angle beat The Guerreros for the Tag Titles? Aren't Eddie and Benoit on off friends. If Benoit and Lesnar needed to find a third partner, wouldn't Benoit suggest Eddie? Wouldn't Eddie want revenge on Team Angle for taking his Tag Title? Am I reading too much into this?

 

I wouldn't mind any of the three in there...but seriously what reason does Rey have to be in the match. Edge's best friend...so what, Team Angle didn't injure Edge did they? Mysterio would make the match better, but they need a reason for him being in there, and so far all they have is a pointless Title Match against Angle 2 or 3 weeks ago.

 

Rhyno's planned to join Team Angle isn't he? If they put him in, you're guaranteed a screw job victory for Team Angle. Not that a win would be bad for them, but they really need to do win cleanly...preferably Angle over Brock. Have Rhyno join on the next Smackdown, have a four on one beatdown. NWO needs to be Angle's night.

 

Oh, and I don't like the idea of 3 on 2, especially if the plan is for Lesnar to win. Lesnar and Benoit beat the whole of Team Angle...that'd kill the angle off, and it's already on life support. And if Team Angle win, there'll be the 'oh, but it was 3 on 2' arguement used (by Cole and Tazz) to save Brock.

If Edge can't work the match, and they absolutley feel like they have to replace him, I say Rey is the most logical candidate, especially if Edge is ambushed by Team Angle. But I think that 2 on 3 would be better anyways.

I think an injury angle should be done at NWO where Edge gets jumped by Team Angle, doesn't make it to the match, and have Team Angle win, to make them look like a legit threat.

 

Interesting sidenote: I went to SD! in Indianapolis this week, and EVERYBODY around me thought Brock/Angle would happen. Morons.
