And it's the job of the announcers to remind people of things like that. That would require WWE to think about continuity though.

His appearance will be a surprise, but you can have a vid package before the match. Yeah, it's a logic gap, but so is having a graphic of 416.619 as the Tag Champs literally five minutes after they won the belts.

Not really as much, because like a printing group that already has championship T-Shirt ready to press no matter who wins if they know the participants, the WWE could do the same thing. This is more like having the nameplates already on the belts, because Rhyno is essentially making a surprise appearance at the start of the match.

That's not what I had envisioned.

 

 

First, On HEAT have the injury angle. Then after the opening match have Steph come out and announce that since they wern't on a TV Show she would select a superstar who hadn't been signed to a brand yet, RHYNO.

 

Then vid package about the history Rhyno has with Edge before the match.

Why not go with Eddy and let him turn his back on Benoit...again. This will set up Eddy vs. Benoit for WM and I would love to see that match.

A lot of people have asked me what Edge's status is for tomorrow's PPV. At this point, I don't have anything concrete to report. The company is said to be considering all of their options. They could replace him, do an injury angle that makes it a 3 on 2 or even have Edge appear. Given that the match is a six man, and he could be protected, it's conceivable that he could work in the match. From a storyline standpoint, given that this week's Smackdown is in London, Ontario, which is near where Edge grew up, it would make sense to do some kind of angle with him there.

Have Rhyno be Rey's opponent on Heat, with Tazz and Micheal Cole making a big deal about how ironic this match is, as both competitors have pasts with Edge. Have Rhyno be shown to be in tip-top shape and fucking SQUASH Rey. Then later, when Edge gets jumped by Team Angle backstage, they make a big deal about how injured Edge is.

 

Even later, from the hospital (I know, pretty hokey, but stick with me here), Steph tells Edge he can name his replacement. Edge says it's obvious that Rhyno was jealous of Rey, because Rhyno wanted to be Edge's tag partner these past months, so Edge is going to give Rhyno a huge opportunity tonight.

 

Rhyno, therefore, replaces Edge in the six-man.

Although Rhyno is Heyman's personal pet toy...He would NEVER be a smart move as the 3rd man...It would be better to bring him in via an Attack on Benoit and start THAT angle for Mania...

 

Eddy...Why? If you go with Benoit Vs Eddy for Mania it's dumb for TWO reasons...1, We've seen it too many times and now it has no importance 2. It leaves Team Angle and Chavo in the cold...

Would Rey be up for two matches in one night? Figure the one on heat might ge like six, seven minutes? I think it was Benoit who said it's a real bitch to have a match and then another one an hour and a half later. Of course, the Heat match probably won't be long enough to have that effect.

 

Still, I have no idea why they would even bother with the Heat match. If they want him to do the six man, kill the Heat match. It was a match that no one knew or cared about against a guy Rey didn't have an issue with, or if he did, it obviously wasn't important to enought to make the show so it could be delayed to SD!. It's obviously not a high priority match. If you wanted Rey to wrestle to establish that he's in the building, it can easily be established by having him walk in with edge.

You could just have Rey have his 6 Minute Heat Match and Do the Attack, and Rey LOGICALLY replaces his best friend in a measure of Vengence.

I can see how that would work. I just don't quite understand how Rey already having a match somehow makes it more logical that he would take Edge's place later in the show.

I think they should do the injury angle then have Brock and Benoit go two against three. And lose of course (preferably by Angle pinning Brock), but it puts them two over pretty well, fighting the good fight, outnumbered, and all that.

 

That is, if they promote it like that afterwards.

Rey came back to beat A-Train in like a minute, didn't he? Anyway, Rey would be a fine replacement. Benoit's injured and they probably aren't going to use Brock except for "cleanup duty" (getting hot tags).

It's a six-man. Whoever works it will be protected by short intervals, because more than likely they'll be fodder. Benoit and Brock will play face in peril/hot tag.
