Guest evenflowDDT Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Knockaround Guys Did this thing ever make it to theatres? I remember seeing previews, then reading about how it was delayed because it was so horrible, and then I never heard from it again. I don't doubt it's horrible, and have no desire to see it, I Am Curious, that's all. (by the way, I thought that wasn't coming out 'til March? Damn you Criterion! Releasing movies I want to buy when I'm on purchasing moratorium...) Right... tomorrow Something Weird's got double features of Booby Trap/The Takers and Godson/Below the Belt. Nothing really interesting to me, but maybe one of you guys'd like it. I'm not really a huge Harry Novak fan.
Guest ArchoanJB Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 yea it made it to theaters, we went to go to see it because my friend is a big Vin Diesel mark, it wasn't too bad actually, not that good but not that bad.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 It was done for about 2 years, they kept tinkering with the movie cause the people in charge were very unhappy with the way it turned out...but after Vin hit huge they kinda rushed it out. Didn't look that good to me, didn't see it
Guest Kingpk Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 The Tuxedo I'd like to hear the director's commentary on this. It should be interesting to find out how easy it is to take some fairly talented actors and give them one of the worst scripts possible and throw in some idiotic direction on top of it. Seriously, how do you fuck up a JACKIE CHAN movie?
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Easy. Put Jennifer Love Hewitt in it.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Well since i have much dislike for Miss Hewitt i shall give you the same response I gave CHUD eventhough he said it before you.
Guest PORNFAQ Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Hey everybody, either Dames has tons of disposable income or he's stupid. You be the judge!
The Dames Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 JLH in a movie = Dames spending money. That is all. Dames
Guest raptor Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I actually might buy Knockaround Guys. I like the actors involved (Diesel, Pepper, Green, Hopper, Malcovich), and enjoyed it a great deal more than some other people did. Kind of a downer, but if you like Mob movies, it was decent.
Guest PORNFAQ Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I never figured Dames to be a guy who falls blindly in love and will do anything including wasting time and money to sate his unrequitted lust... wait... yes I did. I knew that shit A LONG time ago.
Guest Luke Cage Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 I've been FIENDING for Red Dwarf on DVD ever since I got my first player back in 1998! Great discs loaded with extras. The first cast commentary I tried listening to was bad...they were talking over each other too much. I'll check out the later episodes to see if they get past that. For the future releases, I'd like to see clips from the American version of Red Dwarf. I've seen some still shots from it but no live video.

Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 What is Red Dwarf? I know some people love the shit out of it, but I have no clue what it is.
Guest areacode212 Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 It's a British sci-fi comedy that takes place on a spaceship called the Red Dwarf. Backstory: Lister was basically some low-level mechanic who had smuggled his pregnant cat onto the ship. When he was caught, he was placed in stasis (basically suspended animation) for the remaining months of the trip. Unfortunately, during his stasis, his annoying boss, Rimmer caused a radiation leak that killed everyone on board. Since the computer couldn't release Lister from stasis until after the radiation disappated, the few months of stasis became 3 million years. So...he awoke after 3 millennia as the last human in the universe, joined only by a holographic version of Rimmer, and a humanoid named Cat (it evolved from his pregnant cat), who was played by the black goateed vampire from Blade II. I may buy those Red Dwarf sets, but I'll wait, since I want The Shield S1 first.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 ...uh... ...Damn, that does at least sound like something to grab my interest. Price pending I might pick that up.
