WWE Closes the World

If not for 9-11, Angle wouldn't have even won the belt.

If I recall, they were going for Austin to retain at Unforgiven and give Angle the belt following it in the blowoff match. They just did it early because of 9-11 and it fucked everything up.

All signs pointed towards Angle beating Austin eventually anyways. With the way that Ross was going on about how Austin couldn't beat Angle and Angle's total domination. It just seemed like they wanted him to win it so badly.

From what I remember, the plan was for Regal to screw over Angle at Unforgiven, except after 9/11 Angle got a brief run with the belt and the original plan was used 2-3 weeks later to put the belt back on Austin.

The plans would, most likely, have ended up with Angle-RVD and Rock-Austin feuds.

Another possibility would have been Austin-RVD for control of The Alliance and the WWF title, Rock-Jericho for the WCW title, and Angle-Booker T because there would be no one left for Angle to feud with.

Hey, maybe this thread can even get back onto the topic it's listed as: "WWE Closes the World".

Call me crazy, but I don't see the correlation between Austin putting over/not putting over Angle a year and a half ago and the fact that I can't get a Crash Holly pulled pork sandwich anymore.

You know...i'm quite sad. I was there for the Grand Opening, which is when I met the entire roster and would go there for every Raw & Smackdown in 2000. Then they started to raise prices, the food started to really suck and they started making autograph sessions become a pain in the ass. They deserve it.

I don't even know how we started getting on it, lol. Maybe because talking about Angle/Austin is a healthier discussion then...Crash Holly...yeah.

The snazzy thing that Vince should have to finally realize is that nothing he has ever done outside of the actual wrestling aspect and things directly related to wrestling has ever been sucessful. WBF, XFL, the World, and eventually that thing at Niagra falls and this whole Movies idea are just examples of his failures.

Vince doesn't like to remember that he nearly lost his shirt with crap like running concerts and doing closed-circuit TV for Evil Kineval before he ever bought the WWF from his dad.

The only thing he's ever been good at was running the WWF and, in JJ Dillon's opinion, it was because Vince was the first person to discover the new business model that would make the business and to run with it.

BTW, for anyone who thinks they are shutting down, even with the 20 something million loss from the world they are still predicting (with 75% of their fiscal year finished) a 25 to 30 million dollar profit.

me thinks the shutdown talk is a bit premature...
