Guest razazteca Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Don Nelson's small line up of double point guards of Nash and Van Excel with Finlay at SF and Nowinski and La Frentz playing FC is exciting to watch as after nearly every rebound by the Mavs either Nash or Van Excel are going for fast break lay ups. And on the other side Bobby Jackson is leading the fast break for the Kings looking for fancy behind the back passes for 3 pointers to Peja or Divac in the paint. Talk about the depth at the bench as both teams have been just running back in forth making shot attempts every 10 seconds. Poor stick-man Bradley has been in foul trouble.
Guest Redhawk Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 This doesn't bode well for the East, as two of their better teams -- Boston and Indiana -- played to a 71-69 final last night, and the West is scoring 90 points by the third quarter.
Guest razazteca Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 126-124 in OT win by the Kings in a last second tip in! Well that settles it the Kings own the Mavs as they beat them 3 straight times this season. Keon Clark is a monster which made the difference in winning the game. No defense no win for the Mavs as all of the forwards are skinny players thinking that they play FIBA rules, as in no hustle for rebound and shoot 3 pointers all day. Too bad No-Win-Ski can not do it all by himself.
Guest NoCalMike Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Sounds like it was a really fun game to watch. Too bad I had to follow it at work on the internet. Maybe if it was on ESPN they will replay it tonight when I get home. Glad to see the Kings pulled it out.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 the Mavs are officially the most winning bitches of the league. Does ANYONE take them seriously at this point?
Guest Human Fly Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 This has to be a big dagger to Dallas. Webber foulded out with 7 minutes to go and they still couldn't get it done. I don't want to hear Dallas complaining any more about not getting any respect. Best record or not until you show that you can hang with the best teams on a consistent basis you don't deserve any respect.
Guest razazteca Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Considering that the Mavs only have one Forward with muscle in Nowinski and a fetish for 3 pointers and avoiding offensive rebounds they will not go far. The Mavs need a rebounder with the skills of Ben Wallace in the worst way.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Fuck it, they shoudl sign up Rodman's goofy ass. He may be a headcase but Christ he'd give them what they need. Someone who is a legit bad boy (Shawn Bradley's attempts tonight were hilarious btw) and who will do all the dirty work you need. He's like Artest except he doesn't hurt his team, he's usually a gigantic help. They need something like him in the worst way
Guest phoenixrising Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 The Mavs tried signing Rodman a couple years ago. That experiment lasted about ten games. No one wants to put up with Rodman's off the court antics when he isn't helping to win championships.
Guest razazteca Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 The Mavs need a TRUE Center on the team not another Manute Bol or Shawn Bradley, damn you Don Nelson. The 3 guard line up does put up points and fast break oppertunities but without a legit rebounder the team will lose the close game again just like tonight.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 That was the best game I've seen this year. What the NBA should be.
Agent_Bond34 Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 That was the best game I've seen this year. What the NBA should be. I agree with that, was indeed the best game this year I don't see anything topping that for a long time. Why can't more NBA games be like this? Instead we get scores of 71-69 or some low score like that. With the way basketball is set-up, there should be much higher scoring IMO.
