The Extended Samoan Family? Now that's just dumb.

Why?

That's the Rock, Yoko, Rikishi, Afa, Sika and Samu.

You have 2 great tag teams and 2 world champions.

How the fuck are the Windhams in last? Barry Windham by himself should've gotten about third or forth on that schwag poll.

Guerreros 20.14 %

Which is pretty amazing considering that unless its a lot of smark voting, I doubt that average WWE fan knows who the rest of the family is outside of Chavo and Eddy.

As well as the popular (but did he ever win anything?) Jimmy Snuka.

I thought he was related to Afa somehow?

Someone who'd been watching since way back in those days told me he was once. This is what I get for believing people. :P

I'm surprised the WWE didn't rig it so it was like 80% votes for the McMahon's.

Fuck, there are alot of great wrestling families out there, not that you see them in a large group. The Poffos are a little high on the poll, considering the McMahons, Rhodes, Hennigs and Windhams are not even above the 1 percentile.

To spark a debate for everyone: Better wrestling family, Harts or Guerreros?

EDIT:

I thought Snuka was related to the Samoans somehow too. . .

I have no clue as to what capacity he is related, but he definitely ties in with the Samoan family in some relationship.

Snuka is Afa and Sika's cousin.

And though not related by blood, there's also Gary Albright (RIP), son-in-law to Afa.

Rosie and Jamal also.

Well, the Poffos did have three wrestlers in the family; while Lanny wasn't very successful, their father was decently successful I believe. And Randy was just a living, breathing avatar of a wrestling god ;)

The Windhams never had any particularly high levels of success, and weren't there only two Rhodes and Hennigs? Also, I don't think most people would consider the McMahons a wrestling family.

I'd say the Guerreros, Harts, Von Erichs and Samoans are on a different level than the rest, due to a combination of quality and quantity; the voting results are actually in line with this.

Of course all this discussion is moot, as these results are entirely inaccurate I'm sure. WWE.com polls are always rigged by a bunch of wacko voters...and sometimes I suspect by the company itself.

BTW, I don't think Snuka was actually related to the other Samoans by blood; they did consider him a sort of uncle though.

EDIT: According to the "Wild Samoans" site, Snuka is indeed Afa's cousin:

Just found this hilarious tidbit on the Rock's bio on that site too:

"The WWF had high hopes from the start and promoted his WWF world wide television debut at Madison Square Garden- in the 1996 Survivor Series. And the Rock didn't disappoint as he one [sic] the 8-man match being the "soul survivor" and instantly won the fans over."

Instantly won the fans over...

Wrestling families can be construed as just 2 actual wrestlers now - for example, the Steiners and Hardys are just brother tandems, and both teams are high on the list.

Comparing the Windhams to Poffos:

The uber-talented brother- Barry W. accomplished a little bit less than Randy P. (in their primes, both were GODS.)

The much-forgotten brother- What the hell happened to Kendall Windham? Is he still touring on the indies or anything? Anyway, Lanny didn't accomplish much either, though he did have the "Genius" gimmick, which was a favorite of mine. ;)

The father- Didn't Blackjack Mulligan have a very successful run in the late 70's-80's? I remember his name being emblazoned monthly on the "mark magazines" (PWI, for one) but I never heard much about Angelo, with Slamboree 1995 (?) being the only time I had ever saw him.

Why the hell are the Hardys on there? Yeah, they're brothers, but that hardly makes them contenders for "greatest wrestling family."

Why are you laughing?

He did.

The fans popped huge when he won the Survivor Series Match.

It was just within two months, everyone hated his guts...

What about the Wilsons?

I voted for the Harts, who are now in the lead with 41.95%

The Samoans have dropped to second place with 20.4%

I would expect a "family" to at least share a name in some capacity. "Extended Somoan Family" is like saying "Extended Kentucky Family"... yeah, they're all related, but they're not all Hatfields or McCoys.

(Sorry Kentuckians, I had to pick on some southern state.)

Snuka is Samoan I believe.

How are the fans supposed to know they are all related?

Yoko, Rikishi, Afa, Sika and Samu are all family. Rock has the extended membership, where he's not directly blood but accepted.

Where are the Dudleyz?

I don't think the Von Erichs should count since they weren't that great you know.

I think in a way we are all related to the Samonan Family.

Why add a "family" where there's only 2 people in it? Save the brothers for another poll.

I'd probably vote Guerreros or Harts (They at least had 3 good workers)

When was the last time in the WWWFE that a member of the Samoan family was NOT part of the roster? Early 70s, maybe?

The Dudleyz aren't a real family...they were just put together. Like Edge and Christian. Plus, if they had The Dudleyz they'd have to have the 'Taker' family-Taker, Kane, Paul Bearer...Taker's mom and dad where on Raw once...lol.

Also, where are the Flairs- Ric, David and Reid?

Extended Samoan Family? That's like 10 guys at least. For me it'd be the Hart Family, as it included Bulldog and Neidhart as well obviously
