cawthon777 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2003 Too old school. I want some entertainment in public executions. Let's draw it out a little ... maybe get in some commercials from Pepsi, Ford, and Nike.
Guest EI Cubano Report post Posted March 3, 2003 Quick question before I get to my point. SpiderPoet...who is that woman in the background of your banner? She is HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! I agree with Tom in that us not torturing political prisoners is something that seperates us from Iraq, North Korea and other countries with a genuine lack of interest in human life. However, I wouldn't be above slipping Pakistan officials whom the CIA is working with a few rupees to try to "persuade" him to talk. I don't think it's going to do any good though as one of the themes amongst the Al Qaida seems to be martyrdom as hijackers proved. Unless Mohammed is a big fucking coward, I don't think he'll do anything but provide misinformation as it's basically a given he's going to die either way. In my new column, I was half joking and half serious when I proposed that we should construct the new World Trade Center while holding Mohammed in custody, and then on the opening day cast the son of a bitch off of the highest point. I don't support capital punishment for 99% of cases because we as humans have no right to say who should live and who should die and due to the occassional errors that are bound to happen in the court of law, but I think our country is still in serious need of closure from September 11. While it's insanely barbaric, I could think of no more symbolic fate for Osama Bin Laden and Mohammed, two men who took such joy in seeing thousands of our citizens leap from 60th story windows to avoid burning to death. Sure it's never going to happen but I wouldn't shed a tear if it did.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 4, 2003 All these inventive punishments are really quite nice; however, I think a simple hanging, firing squad, or electric chair would suffice. Hang the Bastard. It's considered the dishonorable way to be executed in the military.

That's the other reason I don't support torturing people like this for information, Jay. Never mind that it's evil and reprehensible, but it's almost certain to end in the victim lying, just to tell his tormentors something that sounds like what they want to hear. There are far more humane ways of trying to get the truth out of someone than breaking out the pliers and blowtorch.

I'd gather to assume that he was caught thanks to information provided by captured associates of his. When they're imprisoned, they don't know where they are - they don't know what time it is - they aren't allowed a comfortable amount of sleep. Alter their surroundings and confuse them enough and they break.
