Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Why is the WWE so unwilling to get rid of people who are obviously not pulling their weight? They have made minimal cuts up to this point, and we're still no better off then we were. Compare this to 1996 where the WWE was failing, but decided to "start over" with a new crop of talent. This proved to be THE key ingredident to the return of the WWE when the new talent included Austin, Rock, and HHH. I'm not saying that significant cuts in the roster and new talent being brought in is a magical soulution. Backstage egos are running rampant, and morale is low. (And probobly wouldn't go up during the rebuilding phase, either.) But replacing the very obvious dead weight with hungry OVW kids can only help this company, you have an oppourtunity to introduce new characters. Also, when someone is fired, JOB THEM OUT MERCILESSLY. Since they won't let anyone get a push with all this "Even steven" booking then don't waste an oppourtunity to build a new star by having him destroy an older star. Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 4, 2003 One problem... most of the OVW talents that had been building up over the last two years are now (for the most part) floundering on WWE TV for various reasons. The only current OVW talents I could see coming in and making an impact would be Nick Dinsmore (he's like a Chris Benoit but with less talent), Iron Man Rob Conway, former ECW star Nova, Machine (Doug Basham) and about one or two other guys. Guest j.o.b. squad Report post Posted March 4, 2003 if you remember they dident "decide to start over" they were forced to startover due to wcw signing away all their stars. Also if they decide to job out the people leaving why woude those people allow themselves to be jobed out. you will end up with a small amount of very unhappy people and they will start fighting for real in the ring and cripple the stars of the future before being fired. Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted March 4, 2003 teke: Most of the OVW talents floundered because they wern't given personalities, and their arrivals wern't hyped. The should go back to using videos to hype incoming stars. job squad: If you trefuse to cooperate and begin a fight on television, you will be blackballed from wrestling forever. Wrestlers have been jobbed out on their way out since the TERRITORIES. It's nothing new.
Guest j.o.b. squad Report post Posted March 4, 2003 ok you will be blackbaled from where? wwe is the only real game in town most of the guys who will be fired are not good enough to make a liveing wrestling in japan. and they probably think nickle and dime indys are beneth their time if your going to fire them fire them right away so you can devote more time to your young stars the reason the guys they brought in from ovw did not have gimmicks is becose there already is someone with their old gimmick in the wwe
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted March 4, 2003 If you refused to cooperate, over doing a job on your way out, some thing expected of you anyway, then you would be blackballed from EVERYWHERE: the indies, Japan, Mexico. Unless some promotion picked you up as a stunt, and even then you'd never get a serious push. Without trust, there is nothing. If you're going to fire someone, then put a young guy over him so the young guy looks good, and the guy leaving doesn't. It's like Booking 101. They've been recycling gimmicks since the 50's, it's no big deal if someone gets a gimmick simalar to something something someone else had 5 years ago. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Im begining to think a "developement" contract stuff is a bit open ended, and if these former WCW ECW and New comer wrestlers that start out in OVW want to make a WWE name for themselves they my find themselves Cut without a WWE camera spotlighting them Once. Look at Ez Money, and Mike Sanders as proof to my words.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Nice, but impossible. Even if he agreed with you, Vince would not want to take the one good buyrate or good angle he could get with Goldberg as Goldberg and flush it so he can "pay his dues"
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Most of the OVW guys are floundering because they SUCK. The only OVW guys to be worth a crap are Team Angle (hang out with Angle), Brock (Jesus push), and Cena (who unfortunatly won't stay over once he starts wrestling shitty matches again). Orton, Batista, Fat Samoans all suck. Rico's been buried beyond belief. If there's any others, the're so awesome I can't even remember them. Shit, I'd take Harvard over most of those guys. Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2003 I disagree with you about Cena. His matches aren't shit, they're just average, and considering it's WWE and they focus more on charisma, Cena could make an impact. Though maybe not with the white rapper gimmick... Guest Brian Report post Posted March 4, 2003 But Nowinski isn't that great. Take the mic away, and he looks akward and unnatural in the ring and his ring work isn't anything to cry home over (or maybe it is).

They all suck? I'll only agree with you on that about the Samoans. Everyone else should have been brought in using methods that exaggerated their strengths and minimized their weaknesses. Example- Leviathan had a great look and was able to get the crowd pumped for matches he was in no matter HOW much they may have sucked. He took one of the stupidest gimmicks I've heard of (Synn "conjured" him from the depths of the Ohio River) and made it work to the point that he was the most over person in the company. The WWE screwed that up by putting a suit on him, taking away the chain from his neck, making him grow out his hair, and calling him Deacon Batista. It never got going from there because they kept doing some of the same stupid things like putting him in a Horsemen-imitator group where he had to wear a suit all the time. Orton was, frankly, crap in OVW and crap in the WWE until the RNN stuff started. That was the point at which he started showing a lot of charisma. If he ever learns how to have a good match, he could become a good all-around wrestler. If he doesn't, then the WWE has their next big manager under contract because he's capable of being an annoying little shit as well as entertaining.
Guest Grand Slam Report post Posted March 4, 2003 I have to disagree about Rosie and Jamal being worthless. Granted, they haven't set the world on fire since their arrival, but they haven't been given much to do outside of the old 3MW stuff. I saw them several times while they were in HWA and they were the most over guys on the roster. They were the top faces in the company. They turned heel right before they were called up and were not as interesting. Personally, I think a face turn in WWE would do them wonders.
