OK, how about this.

Turn Benoit Heel and have him take Angle's place in Team Angle. Heyman can do Benoit's interviews for him.

Benoit/Brock at WM

Benoit/Rhyno and Brock/Cena at Backlash

Benoit/Brock for next few ppvs (Austin/Angle from last year)

Angle returns, instant Angle/Benoit feud, with Angle as Face.

Heel Rhyno/Face Brock at Mania

And Backlash, Heel Rhyno/Face Benoit, and Face Brock/Heel Cena.

Come on people, it books itself here.

Rhyno has been out of action for a year. Why would they reward him with a Title shot at the biggest pay per view of the year?

Ok, let's make Brock/A-Train instead

Hey now! I didn't say that. I'm just saying if I worked my ass off for a year, then someone who hasn't worked for a year and a half came back and got the WM main event spot, I would be pissed.

Plus a lot of people probably forget who Rhyno is. He's just not WWE style. ;)

Am I just crazy, or didn't they make the piledriver and other such "neck risk" moves "illegal" in order to stop these sort of injury's?

I don't think that plan is working out.

Indeed. Instead of banning piledrivers they need to think about banning the 30+ German suplexes in every Benoit and/or Angle match requirement.

1. He's Kurt Angle.

2. It's a legit injury.

3. He actually MEANS it.

I see your point. While this injury does suck for us (a WHOLE YEAR without Kurt Angle), it helps him get back to 100% and he can become a mega-face by bowing out gracefully. Becoming a mega face is what he needs, because once Austin retires (probably in a year or year and a half) and Rock goes off to Hollywood, Angle is going to be the next guy that will lead the WWE into another boom period (kind of like the Bret of the new millenium). Only this time, I would love to see Angle return as a face to find a paranoid and psychotic champion in Austin, and claim that he couldn't sit at home any longer and watch this, so he had to get Austin out of the picture, which he would do at WM XX in MSG. There are a lot of good things that can appear a long ways down the road, like Downhome said.

This definately sucks, no Angle is just going to make the WWE even harder to watch over the next year.

And i expect they'll go with Lesnar-Undertaker IIIfor the title, they already have history together and they could probably build up a quick feud in time for WM.

If that happened who would job though? Lesnar should win, but we know how precious Taker's Wrestlemania undefeated strek is.

Well, unless you get dropped on the head, a german suplex isn't bad, since you land on shoulders/upper back.

Man, 2003 is the year of the injury! Two angles that the WWE worked on alot, Team Angle, and Evolution, ruined! Lesnar can get another opponent, but I feel sorry for the RAW side! Evolution basically is going to die off, since Orton and Batista are gone.

Lesnar.....hmmm...I say Benoit had better step up to the challenge. What sucks though is I know there won't be a new champ. They have been building up the fact that Brock wants his title back after losing it at SS. Benoit, however, has not even won the WWE Championship. (Remember when Foley was commish, he restarted about 2 Benoit matches!). I would want Benoit to win, but Lesnar is going to regain his title.

FUCK FUCK FUCK.

Have him vacate the title next week in his hometown, then do a tourney. Two quarter finals a week until Mania, then have the semis and final at Mania. Best thing they can do in a bad situation.

Has anyone ever been injured before an announced Mania match before?

Just have Benoit vs. Lesnar for the title. Have Rhyno interfere costing Lesnar the match. After retiring HBK, trade Jericho to SD. That sets up Jericho/Benoit for the title, Lesnar/Rhyno, and go Cena/big name (ideally UT but doubt he would job). Then the next PPV you can do Lesnar/Cena since hopefully Cena would be legit in the fans eyes now. It is not that hard, Raw can spare Jericho.

What if Undertaker attempts to position himself to face Lesnar at Mania to get out of facing Jones or A-Train?

He does do politics and he does have history with Lesnar.

Scared shitless yet?

Turn Benoit Heel

No

Why?

Because he's gone from face - heel - face since he's returned and it's been 8 months. I was at the Royal Rumble and watching Boston give him a standing ovation....man, he was just ON as far as being a babyface. Turning him heel...That's the last thing they need UNLESS they do a thing where Angle is found backstage (just like Edge) and Benoit is revealed to be the assaliant. He's bitter that he had to have neck surgery, so he's going after people's necks. Edge...Angle....now he wants Brock.

That's my only resolution.

Taker/Lesnar has potential as a babyface vs. babyface match. Not the best resolution, but it has potential.

Edit: Something about doing Taker/Lesnar...I like. If I was booking, I'd push for Lesnar/Benoit first, followed by Lesnar/Taker.

Edit 2: Two ways looking at the Taker/Lesnar match. Lesnar beats Taker and becomes the ONLY man to ever defeat him at Wrestlemania....so it's a big deal, as opposed to Taker losing to Naythan Joans for his undefeated streak.

Taker FINALLY beats Lesnar after their long feud. Wouldn't do much good for Lesnar...but may work out.

Edit 3: Crowd in Seattle LOVES Taker....remember the Raw 8 man tag match? Brock maybe booed, but I see this as 50/50....much like Hogan/Warrior and I'm sure with a REALLY good job booking, Lesnar/Taker would be pretty damn good.

Man, I'm just full of ideas tonight.

I don't think the WWF has any idea what they are going to do now. That's why I think they made the Rock v. Booker match next week on Raw. If they decide they want Austin or even Booker to face Brock they could have Rock win. They are just keeping their options open at this point.

This is Fuckin' Bullshit!

Rock beats Booker next week, he picks he wants Triple H's Title to avoid Austin. Austin some how ends up on Smackdown and heads to WM against Lesnar.

Booker gets left out in the cold and Triple H tries to turn himself face so he can leach off of Rock's Heat.

This is all Fucked!

They can still save not having to change Raw by doing either Brock/Benoit or Brock/Taker at Mania. But Raw COULD be a mess if Rock goes over Booker. Booker needs to go over Rock, to get even more momentum going into Mania, still keeping Austin/Rock and Booker/HHH....with either Lesnar vs. Taker/Benoit.

Guest Just call me Dan

I am so fucking down right now. I waited for so long to see this match, regardless if it would have just been Kurt holding Brock's hand.

I truly thought this was going to be Brocks debut SSP, and he and Angle would tear it up. Kurt worked so hard to get that title run again, and this feud was booked for MONTHS making it the longest and (although the Team Angle squashing bit was a bit over the top) and best booked fedu yet. I REALLY wanted to see this.

Taking a look at Evilution getting crumbled by Batista and Orton's injuries, Edge going down for a year, Angle now gone for a year, Tajiri's tragedy and the fact that Rock will be gone in 2 months after finally providing some light on the other half of the WWE, I can't help but take a step back and feel really down.

I definitely wish Kurt the best and I must say that I will truly feel somethings missing when watching Smackdown.

Kurt Angle is the MVP of all wrestling today in my eyes and this just totally fucks everyone right now.

I truly feel bad for Vince and co. and hope that in this sump they can pull it together.

I hope new stars get a couple of open spots and guys get to step up big time to deliver for thier company. 2003 looks like shit from here on out, but I really hope something good can come of this.

Get well soon, Kurt.

I'm sorry, I don't see WWE giving Benoit a high profile match at Mania' and I'm praying it's not Taker.

If they need to turn Benoit heel, I think that is perfect. And it shows he will injure anyone (Edge, a face and Angle, a heel) to get the World title.

I don't see Benoit in the main event either....and Taker/Lesnar really may not be that bad if booked properly. And since Taker has a lot of pull backstage, so it could happen. And it makes sense that the winner and the last guy eliminated get the shot.

And they can just explain that Benoit was just setting Edge up as a pawn because he is the far greater Canadian then Edge will ever be AND it gives Angle more crediblity when he makes his farewell speech on SD in Pittsburgh (He wasn't lying...he really didn't attack Edge).

And Benoit took out Angle because he: 1. Wants the title. 2. Wants Brock's neck broken.

Ooh, I could get into that. I could REALLY enjoy that.

Of course, it will be ruined when they do all that storytelling and have Brock destroy him for the last two weeks w/o letting Benoit get a move.
