Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted March 5, 2003 I have three games on my mind that I want to get with the money I saved up, but I only can afford one. Help me in my gaming decision here, folks.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Dark Cloud 2. Oh wait...that's not on there. Xenosaga then.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Frick, I completely forgot about DC2. But now that I realize that it's out, it only complicates my selection process even further.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Considering you also are forgetting that Star Ocean 3 comes out very soon as well... Meh... No biggy. Besides, I'd pick Xenosaga. Very lovely tale, except you gotta remember to bring the popcorn and pop for the hour long FMV. And that's no joke on the hour long, yet, I didn't mind it at all. Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted March 5, 2003 I'd say Suikoden 3. It wasn't as good as Suik 2, but it's still a really good game.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Save your money till Fall for FFX-2. I haven't played any of those choices, so I can't really judge on them.

Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 6, 2003 If your biggest concern about an RPG is plot, then go with Xenosaga. If half hour cutscenes annoy you and you are the exploration type, go with Suikoden. Suikoden III is the best game of the Suikoden series, but has a more personal story than the sweeping epic that was Suikoden II. I just got Xenosaga today and although I have only played it for a few hours, it seems to have a larger emphasis on plot than even Xenogears.
Guest Star Ocean 3 Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Suikoden 3 doesn't even compare to Xenosaga. I'd wait for later volumes of .hack to come out so you can get them closer to each other. And there's Breath of Fire V and DC2, of course.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Alright looks like Xenosaga is getting picked up first. Thanks guys and gals.

Guest Cavi Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Can anybody comment on Mitsuda's scoring in Xenosaga?
Guest Star Ocean 3 Report post Posted March 7, 2003 There's a severe lack of music in XS. Most of the game is silence. There are no boss themes, except for a final boss one. The soundtrack is more cinematic than anything else, but still inferior to mostly every other OST he's done.

There's like NO music in that game. Xenosaga has a pretty decent selection compared to .hack and Suikoden 3. Yet, I'll complain a little that there isn't as much as I'd like. BTW, I take it you haven't heard Kokoro(sp?) from Xenosaga, have you? Sweeters song.
