The Dames Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 For those of you who haven't read Kurt Angle's book, "It's True, It's True", he talks about how he hurt his neck during the olympic trials yet injected himself with a substance that numbed the area because he wanted to win so badly. He said that in retrospect, he knew it was dangerous, but he had such a strong desire to go out there and get it done. SD SPOILERS....INVISO TEXT~!! Now that WWE is going out there and having him face Brock next week, I hope Angle doesn't make the same mistake again. He's older, his body is more worn than he was in '95-96 and he's really not getting anything out of it. Hell, if he still had the same ego back then, I wouldn't put it past him to do the same thing to last until Wrestlemania. If WWE is desperate enough...do you think WWE would allow it? Dames
Guest bravesfan Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 The WWE would never allow a wrestler to perform in such serious pain, especially when they know the circumstances. Hate to say it, but people like Triple H (first quad tear) and Stone Cold (lingering neck problems) would've opted to wrestle through their injuries then sit for any amount of time. Vince knows these men have no "stop" button in their heads; hopefully he knows what he's doing. EDIT: Thanks Dames. Guest Brian Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 I think they could pull off the belt being vacated, with Angle being "injured" backstage, and just do Undertaker vs. Brock on WrestleMania for the vacant title. As much as I'd like to see Benoit, with three shows to go, this is probably the best option. Easy build, simple storyline. Plus, they've got something going on with Benoit in the tag division (and a possible Rhyno turn) whereas they say their not sure about Taker's match for Mania.
