Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 You know I was thinking. They have a booking committee and they have a head whore.....I mean writer. Now we know that Vince is involved in the process and all goes through him but I don't think Flair is involved at all. Now the question is.....should they give the respective "owners" the head book when it comes to their company? I mean Flair as head booker would kinda rule. And Vince I'm pretty sure could head book WAY better than his daughter. So do you think they'll have one main booker, give the book to the "owners", or just have an entirely new head writer for each show?
Guest Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 Thats a cool idea I can't see it though. (Not with Flair) I read somewhere they aren't even sure if they are going to have different bookers for the show which I think kindda sucks. Who is on the booking team anyway. Steph, Gertwitz, Heyman, Vince. Is there anyone else involved?
Guest notJames Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 As far as I can tell, the whole "ownership" thing is merely figurehead in nature, since Flair doesn't really own anything. Hence, Flair probably won't be booking anything in any real sense. However, they'll probably split the booking committee so that each can work on the separate shows. That would probably give them a break in terms of having to keep track of the inflated roster(s) that's sure to come. $0.02
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 Umm...I'm not a mark dude. I know that Flair is not an "owner" and is just talent. Hence the reason that everytime I said owner I put it in quotes. But I still think with him as that figurehead that they should allow him to book.
Guest converge241 Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 I knew what you meant mighty one. It makes sense for him to be involved with the booking if he is going to be so involved as a figurehead. Maybe not the whole book cause I dont think he's booked all the storylines for a while, back in WCW.He should be involved though.
Guest notJames Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 It makes sense for him to be involved with the booking if he is going to be so involved as a figurehead. I don't know about that. Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley served as figurehead commissioners. But I don't recall them having any real booking powers. I could be wrong, of course...
Guest Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 What they should do is have 2 seperate writing teams. Though, that won't happen, and things will still suck in the WWF. Thank God for Puroresu! Latez

I'd doubt they'd give Ric any booking power since Steph will most likely keep the head writing spot as compensation for being pulled from TV for an undisclosed ammount of time (which I'm guessing will be a month).....

Guest Tony149 Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 I think Flair booking his side, which is supposed to be more wrestling driven, would be good. Wasn't he WCW's head booker when WCW's product was hot in 1989 & early 1994? Will it happen? Probably not. I still think two writing teams is the way to go. They could have Flair, Anderson, Ace & Heyman book Raw. While Steph gets Smackdown with her crew.
Guest converge241 Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 Quote (converge241 @ Mar. 19 2002,11:37) It makes sense for him to be involved with the booking if he is going to be so involved as a figurehead. I don't know about that. Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley served as figurehead commissioners. But I don't recall them having any real booking powers. I could be wrong, of course... no they didnt and as i said it would make more sense if they were involved with the writing. Cause Foley and Michaels (and Regal btw) sure really acted like they cared all the time as 'commissioners'. My only point was whoever is the figurehead of the division should be involved in the writing because it would make sense to know the integral stories and characters for the divisions they will head up. Vince, last time I checked, had that being involved part taken care of. I think it would help in the overall presentation, especially when they have been a head booker in the past.
Guest notJames Posted March 19, 2002 Report Posted March 19, 2002 Sure it would "make sense". But we are talking about the WWF, right? Let me count the ways... • The phenomenal HHH-Angle-Steph angle that was dropped like a Hardcore title reign. • HHH walking about the day after being dropped from the sky in a car. • The Rock walking about a couple of weeks after being pulverized in an ambulance by a speeding, Hulkamania-powered semi. • Flair being given a vote of no-confidence for "striking a fan" and "getting arrested", while Vince's past sins are all forgotten, even with Mama McMahon in the room. • The persistence of Steph on-camera when it's abundantly obvious that NO ONE wants her there. But yes, I too would like to see Flair have an active role in booking the show, if only because he has a real love for the sport, and would do anything to promote it the right way, even at the expense of his legacy (i.e., taking a 30-min. ass-whooping from Mark the non-heel-acting heel bike-riding gravedigger). $0.02
