Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted March 8, 2003 MLB: Da Yankz, Atlanta NFL: Cowboys, Raiders, Dolphins NBA: Bulls, Jazz, Kings NHL: Rangers, Red Wings Now, about the Leafs...I do not hate the Leafs. In fact, I was a HUGE Leaf fan throughout the 80s and most of the 90s, especially when Gilmour was traded there. The 93 playoffs were probably the most exciting ones I've ever seen. But...Pat Quinn has made it extremely easy to cheer against them (particularly living in Ottawa for the last 6 years). He is one of the least likable people I have ever seen. Everything that goes against the Leafs is someone else's fault (usually the refs), never theirs. He constantly whines and offers excuses instead of assuming responsibility. And the players he has brought in (particularly Darcy Tucker) represent the very worst kind of hockey...the game against Ottawa on Tuesday shows that. Guest GameCop Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Just because the Lakers have won the last three NBA titles and are on their way to winning their 4th consecutive title doesn't mean you should hate them. Learn to embrace the Lakers and their winning ways, because it's going to continue for a long, LONG time.
Guest papacita Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Traditionally, the Pacers. Nowadays, I'd say the Lakers.

Mets- I used to have mutual respect for them but now that they signed Tom Glavine they're on my hate list. NBA: Lakers: I don't like Shaq and I don't like Phil Jackson. NCAAB: Cincinnati: They always beat Memphis

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 8, 2003 All this Yankee Hate. Fuck You all. I never quite understood the Yankee Hate. I would assume (And this really isn't me being a haughty Yankee fan) That you all hate successful people/things. Please explain this to me. And mutual Yankee/Met Hate is bizarre. Maybe Understandable from say, a team like the Red Sox who get ass raped by the Yanks every year and still have residual 86 flash backs.

Learn to embrace the Lakers and their winning ways, because it's going to continue for a long, LONG time. I don't really like basketball, but I don't really like the Lakers for the main reason that I think Shaq is one of the dumbest human beings on earth.

Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted March 8, 2003 I hate the Yanks because I'm from Massachusetts. It's in my blood. Oh, and the Leafs suck.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 8, 2003 I hate the Yanks because I'm from Massachusetts. It's in my blood. And that's understandable. Besides the close proximity between the two cities, and the great games they usually play against eachother, it has to sting that while, for the most part, most people can at least recall the last time the Yankees on the World Series. On the other hand, there are verye livin people who can legitamately lay claim to seeing the last World Chmpion Boston Red Sox. On a side note, a couple of years ago, my friend (Met Fan) was wearing his "15th anniversary 1986 World Series" hat. That is sad. If I ever stoop to the point where I am CELEBRATING that it's been double digits since the Yankees won, I want to be shiot.

Guest MrRant Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Just now? Even though NY has won the series many times... I just like to bring up 1995 to Yankee fans.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Or let us not forget the ANGELS taking out the beloved Yanks this past postseason, resulting in me winning about $250 from various people at work.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted March 8, 2003 The one thing I didn't like about the Angles taking out the Yankees so early in the playoffs was that I had no one to root against. Usually I just take the team that's playing the Yankees and hope they win, I didn't have that option after the Division Series last year. Oh well, game 4 was like one big markout moment, anyway. Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Well, there was the Giants. They were my whipping boys for the rest of the playoffs.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Just now? Even though NY has won the series many times... I just like to bring up 1995 to Yankee fans. What about it? I'm not sayng they win every year, but at 26 times (Real question: What is number two?) it's more than anyone else in any sport. Or let us not forget the ANGELS taking out the beloved Yanks this past postseason, That one hurt. It really did. The Yankees played abnormally bad. I still refuse to call The Angels the best team in baseball, though.

The Yanks deserved to get eliminated definetly, and I will absolutley call Anaheim the best team in baseball last year. They proved it.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 8, 2003 The Yanks deserved to get eliminated definetly Absolutey. , and I will absolutley call Anaheim the best team in baseball last year. They proved it. Oh, what I said wasn't actually grounded in anything. It's bitterness, combined with a wildcard stigma (And this, I feel, is what gets me the most. It just doesn't feel "right" to call a 2nd place team Best in baseball. Yes, it's groundless, know) combined with shock that all "favorites" went so early. Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted March 8, 2003 That's right, Arizona, Atlanta, New York, and Oakland, perceived by many to be the final four, were all eliminated in the first round. I liked it though, because Anaheim, Minnesota, St. Louis, and San Fran all played a different style of ball than the teams that they eliminated, and Anaheim was such a fun team to watch. I can see the bitterness. Now you know how Red Sox fans feel. Every year.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Now you know how Red Sox fans feel. Every year. I wouldn't go that far.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted March 8, 2003 Well, every year that they make the playoffs it seems they get eliminated by the Yanks. That's why I said that you know how we as fans feel, watching the team that eliminated your team win it all.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Report post Posted March 8, 2003 ...I would assume (And this really isn't me being a haughty Yankee fan) That you all hate successful people/things. Please explain this to me... I hate the Yankees just because they're in New York City. I hate all teams in all sports that are in major media markets, just out of general principle. If the Yankess played somewhere besides NYC, I wouldn't even care.
