Midcard titles are pointless if they don't actually use them to get someone over and no titles outside of the World was doing that anymore. For the life of me I can't figure out the sense of only having the CW and Womens Title as the only single Titles on each show. IC Title should be on Raw and make a TV Title for Smackdown. Title matches and Feuds over Titles always add more excitment and drama to the shows. (When the right guys are used, when booked right, which of course is a MAJOR problem right now) It's not that friggen hard to make a Title seem important instead of going by Russo's theory of "titles are only used as props." Guest sean pyro Report post Posted March 6, 2003 I'd like to see them bring it back, like maybe during the month that the King Of The Ring PPV was on they could set up a tourny on both sides to see which guy from which show gets it. (5 guys from RaW / 5 Guys From SmackDown) They would have to put some big names in the tourny to make it more important. But lets face it, they prudy much said the title ment nothing when Stone Cold threw it in the River.. should have never bought it about after that. I think it would be best if they bought back wCw's TV Title, since most WWE fans never even heard of it and it hasn't been devalued as much as the IC has been. It even sounds like a useless belt, like you're being awarded a 13" colour TV for beating Wrestler X. As for the IC belt, I'd rather they built up the World Title(s) to the point where everyone is gunning for it. They'll say that it's the ultimate goal on Confidential and whatnot, but I never see feuds or storylines where it's actually the case. I like the old-time idea of a ranking system, where wins and losses really matter. That way they can do away with the bullshit of trading wins, which keeps everyone on the same level, which it shouldn't. And for those who are not seen as credible contenders, their constant storyline(s) should be about reaching that level. Guys like Spike Dudley should be shown working out, challenging guys above them, etc. Secondary titles only preserve the notion that you'll never be the best; you're only as good as this level. Maybe killing the mid-card titles was them realizing and admitting that they have a problem. They realized that they can't book worth shit, so rather than send the value of the titles further down the commode, temporarily kill them off until they can get the house back in order. Once they get a writing team that can tell the difference between their ass and a hole in the ground, they'll bring them back and build them (and the talent) up properly. The Winner of the tourney gets to bring the title to his show...That brand holds onto it...Until Survivor Series where Their will be another Intrapromotional match and so on and so on. I would have for Raw, Booker and Heel RVD and for SMD, Eddy/Cena. I'd have Booker Face Cena in the finals...and God help me put the title on Cena. At this point I expect Cena to be reaching Rock 98 status so putting the title on an Hot heel would be good. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 7, 2003 Really I thought aside from Abert and Kane...The IC was nicely transitionated to good wrestlers but the title was valueless so it held ZIP importance... 1999 was just atrocious in the constant throwing around Goldust, Road Dogg ,Jarrett, Chyna, Holly, Jericho, Godfather and Shamrock and Billy Gunn were in the picture for about 8 months and yet NEVER even the title... Some people said it gave the title more meaning, I say HHH just wanted another belt. And the Invasion crap didn't help matters, they were just throwing belts back and forth just to do something with them. I think I just miss long title reigns...where the guy has the belt and uses it to get him over.
