WWE writer endorses racism in storylines

Recommended Posts

Guest humongous2002

I found this one pretty funny, in a sad, bootlicking kind of way. Over on WWE.com, writer Brian Solomon has written a piece where he not only says that HHH's promo to Booker T this past Monday was racist, but he actually endorses it as being a good idea! He says it adds a realistic edge to their feud, totally missing the fact that a talented heel doesn't need to resort to such depths to get heat. It's really curious to read Solomon's sudden support of using race baiting propaganda in storylines when it involves the McMahons' future son-in-law yet when D. Lo Brown and Teddy Long were doing it, where were his pro-bigotry columns? The most unintentionally sad thing that he wrote really sent a point home when he said, "Instantly, this feud has become the most interesting that Triple H has been involved in for quite some time, at least to me as a viewer." I am sure the Mc-son-in-law will really enjoy being damned with such feint praise.

It times like these that you wish the Goldust electrocution never happened, as next week, he could come in dressed up like Undercover Brother and make references that Triple H is really "The Man".

If next week, we see Triple H offering Booker fried chicken and watermelon, you know they're really getting desperate to get some heat on H.

I am not surprised one bit..it is after all the WWF (E)..and their history has proven they will draw the race card..again..& again..it was way worse in the 80's..i feel bad for Booker T..he dosen't deserve to b put in the middle of that..he deserves to b put way over in a legitimate way..i hope he rises above it anyway..

I just don't like how when they have a black wrestler..he almost always has the mantle of the "black" wrestler..with some wack ass gimmick related to that...i think the WWF (E) writers through the years have never put their minds around the fact that they don't have to do that..but after all they work for Vince..sad

With the exception of his first match with HBK at Summer Slam, I can't remember any interesting he's been involved in since his return from injury.

But Yet, Brian Solomon is probably one of the first people to laugh at Eddie and Chavo's "Typical Latino" Gimmick and laughs at all the "Eddie Stole my Car" & "Chavo mows my lawn" signs in the crowd.

I don't care about playing the race card. I cared more about Triple H burring Booker for being a WcW Champion.

So let's take stock of HHH's world title

We see him awarded the title, But one man objected. You see, to Be the man, ya gotta beat the man. So who was this man? Did Ric Flair introduce Jericho as his successor and the new "The Man?"No, so, to win the title HHHe has to beat a shriveled up shell of his former self, Flakin Peelin, Ass Pinchin, Coach Class Ridin Son of a gun (Whoooo! *Cough cough*). HHHe's defended it against, a shell of his former self, Back Break Kid. He's defended it against a necropheliac. He's defended it against the first person to get true X-Pac heat since the greasy little sewer rat scurried off to TNA. And now he's doing an angle that involves racism. That's one proud belt you got there H.

I didn't think that was right either..the Cripple 1 trashing the WCW title like that..Booker's title reigns were way better than any one HHH had..politically motivated & worthless they r..The Cripple 1.. always sucks away any momentum that any wrestler has..i won't b surprised if that scenrio happens..with HHH & Booker..that some1 else touched on..

The minute they did that Japanese shampoo commercial with them making fun of Bookers hair..i cringed..they went there..Booker can't just b a wrestler..but with this news..Brian Solomon's dumb ass probably wrote that to..i would love to b a fly on the wall in that writers room..just to listen how they come up with some of this racial stuff.."oh i know..how about having HHH say Bookers hair is nappy..etc..WTH..again..sad..

He was involved in one of the least interesting and most predictbale Rumble to Mania storylines...

No tasteless angle, no fued with anyone, none of JR's hosses and no Horsemen will ever get HHH over again, especially if he persists to do his same old heat-killing bullshit.

I'd laugh my ass off if Steph left Trips for Booker.

This could be funny if they played off HHH as the ignorant white bigot (like Archie Bunker) and Booker T as a man overcoming "The Man" and proving him to be full of shit.

HHH: You know-uh, Booker. You and your people-uh are just a part of the deep-running Jewish conspiracy against the Aryan race-uh. The day you try to seize my guns is the day I fill your nappy-haired head full of bullets-uh.

Instead, they'll play it straight and JR will constantly suck his cock, as usual.

Brock Lesnar:...i haf joined trip to create......white..power?...booker..spear chucking booker..I am going to make you wish your grand dad...um..was still working on my..families farm?

I didn't think the angle was tasteless in the sense that on other channels you can see things like stand-up comics telling jokes of "White people drive like this, but black people drive like this!"

Sure, the promo wasn't family telelvision, but when did Vince ever make that his M.O. in the past five years? That still doesn't mean that I don't think Creative could have thought of something better.

How many times have WWF/E desperately gone with the race card to push someone/an angle? And has it ever really worked?

Aside from the Rock being in the Nation when he came back and turned heel, I don't think so. And the Nation could have been there or not, or been any other heel stable--it probably would have had the same result.

Oh, remember when Farooq challenged Taker at KOTR 97? And for weeks beforehand, Farooq would come out and go "How many brotha's been world champion? None. Why is that? You holding da black man down, MacMan!" To make it even more stupid, Ahmed Johnson sided with Farooq on that issue (even though the two were hated rivals at the time).

Why was it stupid for Ahmed to join the Nation? It makes sense that Black man tired of the white man's bullshit would be willing to join the group that symphatize his beliefs. Nothing stupid about the reasoning just the rest of the angle until Rock stole it and just made it a HEEL stable consisting black men and ONE White guy.

Well with only 3 weeks to go they need to build it up fast and it may work out well for Booker to get more fan support.

Yeah Your right, With Intelligent writers, this could be a Politicaly successful angle for WWE but YOU KNOW that won't happen.

I know it will probably end up with HHH rubbing greasy fried chicken in Booker's face after Booker T tries to attack Flair after the writers decide to have him say the N word since they don't want to hurt HHH and hey... they have the 7 second delay right?

Flair could recite the Grand Imperial Wizard's(KKK BOSS) Induction Speech on MLK Day and STILL get over.

Is Nigger still a "bad" word? I mean u can say now on Cable without problems right? Shield has gotten away with it...

It bordered on racism, but as long as HHH stays away from watermelon, fried chicken and orange soda, it's OK by me.
