Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 Ian Rotten announced last night that the TPI this year will expand to 24 participants. He confirmed Dino Bambino as the first official participant, and said something about how Jonny Storm's helping him get other British wrestlers booked. Also, he confirmed Jimmy Rave for "Quoth The Raven" on March 28th, and you all are now jealous of me, because I'm going, and you're not.

Any names being thrown around yet? Perhaps we could see some of the lesser known Uk guys makes it stateside. ChUnK!
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 Doug Williams & Robbie Brookside were discussed, I think. Not 100 percent sure.
Chunk Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Doug Williams & Robbie Brookside were discussed, I think. Not 100 percent sure. Doug Williams is an outstanding worker as im sure you'll agree if youve seen him in ROH. I get the whole legend thing around Brookside, but ive seen him a couple of times now and he really doesnt impress me that much at all. He just seems to half ass everything and acts like he couldnt care less most of the time. I know that James Tighe has been over to the OVW camp, so how about giving him a chance. Hes been good the few times ive seen him. ChUnK!
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 wonder how they are going to run it. will 8 people get byes to the second round or will the first round be three ways
Guest Joe_G Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 They ran the 2001 King of the Death Matches with 24 participants. It was run basically like 3 8 man tournaments with the finals being a three way. I'm guessing that's how they'll handle this.

About the KOTDM, I heard Supreme & Vic Grimes are coming in for it.
Chunk Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 No James Tighe then I thought the trip to OVW wold get him a little noticed. Who is Bambino? ChUnK!
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Bambino is an Indiana indy guy who peeks his head out every year for IWA-MS, since I think him and Ian are tight.
Chunk Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Bambino is an Indiana indy guy who peeks his head out every year for IWA-MS, since I think him and Ian are tight. Does he actually wrestle or is it sort of a gimmick/tradition?
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 He actually wrestles, and I heard he's not half-bad.
