Good.  It's good to see Vince continuing his sharing of talent.  I've yet to see Spanky compete in an actual match (I missed Spanky/Kurt), but given that he was trained by HBK, I have confidence in him.

He is indeed something else, I've seen various matches of him both on Velocity, and in ROH. When you finally see him, if they allow him to be more than a Spike Dudley in WWE, then you will be impressed. I have a few Spanky matches if you want me to send them your way.

I may take you up on that. What are your thoughts on WrestleMania this year? I find myself more fascinated by the suspense of seeing how they can save the SD! Main Event from having the same amount of heat as a backyard match aired on the titantron.

I basicly share your thoughts also on this. The most interesting thing to me right now leading up to Wrestlemania is indeed the SD main event situation. They could make it be huge, or they could just blow it totally, as they've done in the past so many times. I'm looking forward to the show overall however, because in the end, it IS Wrestlemania. Ask me again in three weeks, the day before WM, and I'll tell you how I totally feel about the show, heh.

That's an admirable goal, I think. I'm very intrigued by Booker/HHH. I'm pretty sure Rock will be cost his match against Booker.

 

Though it would be BADASS if Booker went over clean somehow. I'd mark out big time. That may be very wishful thinking on my part though.

 

However, it'll be nice to see Bookerman in the Main Event of WRESTLE F'N MANIA. I also have to wonder what match will headline. Last year it seemed pretty clear that Rock/Hogan was the biggest match on the card, but it was still on before the Women's Title match and the Undisputed Championship match.

 

I miss the Undisputed Double Belt title.

I'm sorta iffy on Booker/HHH. The only way that can end with anything worthwhile is if Booker beats HHH, and I really am not sure if that will happen. It's possible, but not very likely. As for Rock/Booker this Monday night, I predict Austin just running in, stunning Rocky, and "giving" Booker T the win. They can't make Booker T look strong on his own, you know how they are, heh.

Agreed. Though, the split has slowly grown on me. I'm starting to enjoy it, though that's mainly because I know I can generally get some decent workrate on SD! and Velocity every week. At least in theory. I only hope that if the split continues, Smackdown! becoming the "wrestling" show becomes more and more apparent.

Yes, I'm fine with the split for the moment, but they really need to stir things up in regards to the product. While it's heading in the right dirrection, to me at least, it still feels like the same ol' stuff that they've been doing for the past two years. I don't have a sense of freshness really, outside a few new characters and gimmicks here and there.

 

Now that Kurt Angle and Edge will be out for a year, I hope they allow guys like Rhyno, John Cena, and even Nathan Jones to step up to the plate, so we can all see if any of them are worthy of moving up to the top anytime soon. I also hope we see 2003 end up being the year of Benoit, as it's his time as far as I'm concerned.

 

If SD keeps on becoming more and more of the "wrestling" show, I'm all for it. There is no doubt that each week it has better wrestling matches on it than RAW does.

If ever there was a time for Benoit to step fully into the Main Event scene, this is it, IMO. If not at WrestleMania itself, then surely at Backlash and/or Judgement Day and beyond. I really think Benoit should be on top or hovering around No. 1 Contenders status on Angle's return to give Angle a credible foil besides Brock. I'm honestly excited about Kurt coming back whenever he does simply to see him interact with Brock and Benoit again.

Oh yeah, when Kurt comes back it will be very interesting. What I feel should happen, and the way I would book things, is to have Benoit actually win the SD World Title at Wrestlemania, by defeating Brock Lesner. I would have Benoit be heel, Brock still a face, and in doing so it would make people anticipate Brock FINALLY winning the title even more. Over on the RAW side, it would make the chances of Booker T beating HHH much higher, as I highly doubt they'll have both heels win at WM.

 

I would keep the strap on Benoit for a while, all the while making it look like he just OWNS Brock Lesner. I would work it up where Brock Lesner finally overcomes Benoit at the first SD exclusive PPV. Not only would it help out the buyrate in having everyone finally just ready to see Brock win it, but it would make Benoit look very strong. Leading up to that PPV, we could do matches like Brock/Cena and Benoit/Rhyno, there is plenty they could do. I would have a Benoit/Brock feud last for much of the next year, leading up to Kurt's return, making for a VERY interesting encounter between all three men.

 

Kurt could come back jelous of Benoit for having the year that he felt he should have had instead, Benoit has something to prove by finally overcoming Kurt, and Brock and Angle have plenty of unfinished business.

It looks like you have Smackdown all planned out, but what would you do with Raw for the next couple months?

Well, RAW is a bit trickier in my opinion. To me, SD basicly just writes itself for the next year, but that's just me obviously. As for RAW...

 

...it's painfully obvious that HHH is not the man to be on the top over there right now. I think he CAN still draw, and I feel he was starting too with Evolution, but with the injury's to Orton and Batista, that is all but dead now. We need to see HHH just bury Booker T every show, just like he did on RAW, to make it look like there is no chance in HELL that Booker can possibly when, and then, yep, have Booker T pin HHH, cleanly, finally cementing him in the main event. After that, I would put Booker T as far away from HHH as possible. After Wrestlemania, I would quickly push HHH into a non-title feud with Austin (as Rocky will more than likely be gone after WM or soon there after). They already have the foundation for HHH/Austin to take place once again, and like it or not, the fans would like to see that. I'm not talking about a year long feud, just a short little something to occupy both of them.

 

Then we have Booker T, the champ by this time. Again, if I was booking things, I would have Jericho go over HBK just HUGE at WM, making him look like gold, and after WM, I would set everything up for a huge Booker T/Chris Jericho feud. I'm not talking just a few weeks here, oh no, I'd put them in a long term program with one another, possibly even trading the title back and forth 1-2 times in the process. While that's going on I'd work on getting RVD more over with the fans, and turn him heel and have him feud with Austin down the line, putting RVD over huge. I'd put together a HHH/Goldberg match if Goldberg signs which would keep them out of the title hunt for a while, allowing my Booker T/Jericho feud to take place over the title.

 

If Goldberg comes in, I would keep the belt off of him for at least a year, and at the very earliest next WM. This of course only applies if he stays long term. I'd also keep the belt off of HHH for an entire year. Here is who I would have hold the belts for each show in 2003 starting at WM...

 

RAW:

 

1) Booker T

 

2) Chris Jericho

 

3) Steve Austin

 

Smackdown:

 

1) Chris Benoit

 

2) Brock Lesner

 

3) John Cena or Nathan Jones, depending on how well their pushes work out. (Obviously these are my two dark horse picks.)

 

...in short, it should be a year where the title is held in high regards, with not many DIFFERENT people holding the title. On RAW I'd have only about three people winning the title, and on SD only 2-3.

I like that plan quite a bit. Booker/Jericho would be insanely hot if done right. I'd mark out. AND I'd travel down here from school if they make Charleston an annual RAW event. And I'd surely go back home to Columbia for Smackdown! the next night if they do it like they did last year.
